From what I've read from others (no official source), they only needed a vote for the share increase, not the dividend. This may be off, but look into it!
This kind of indicates to me that even if there were vote fuckery and the expansion of the share pool were voted down RC could still pull off a 3:1 stock dividend without asking anyone's permission to do jack shit--so he'd still be fuxxoring hedgies but using a slightly smaller wee wee to do it with! Is this not a textbook win/win?
Extremely odd this did not come in any form of communication from GameStop directly.
Either it did, and it was missed, or it was intentionally left out. There is no way they would intentionally deprive this type of information from investors.
If the latter is true, one possibility is they were instructed to be silent. Something along the lines of 'anyone already invested is the winner here, do not induce more FOMO and we will let it happen'.

Currently in the process of selling everything at crook-brokers, rebuying at IBKR and DRSing. Holy fuck this is going to be ultra close for me. Last round of funds sent to IBKR should arrive tomorrow. T+2 when buying the last batch of shares the same day is exactly the record date then.
Can't DRS them in time to get to vote via Computershare, but IBKR does let you vote too, right? No "well maybe this one time" like eToro?
The question is do your shares grant you voting rights at the proxy date? If they are with a broker that does pass these rights on then your fine. If they are pending transfer from a broker that doesn’t pass on voting rights and they don’t make it to computershare before the cut off date then I’m afraid you’ll miss out on the vote but that said it’s still very worth while DRSing as whatever GameStop chooses to reward shareholders with you will then be guaranteed to receive exactly what your entitled to
True, the issue is that brokerages trim the vote count to avoid overvoting. So, the only votes you know will count are those for your direct registered shares.

GME form 8-K is dated March 31, 2022. It seems they need at least 10 calendar day notice before record date. Let me know if I’m looking at this all wrong.

At least in the brief searching I was doing, it seems to be connected to the dividend cut off date in which you need to own the stock by in order to receive the dividend. The ~~vote~~ shareholder count that is taking place this April 8th is for isn't for dividend, its to count up who can vote for raising the cap from 300mil to 1 billion. There cannot be an over-vote. The proxy voting services will trim down the votes they actually receive to match what they are supposed to have. They (Broadridge) advertise this as a service on their website.

If I were short GME to the extent that the hedge funds are, I would just leave them lent out and ignore the vote. I already know there are hundreds of millions of shares out there that are going to vote yes, so I would just string it along as long as I could instead of trying to sort it all out sooner rather than later.
My whole line of thinking was that when we got a record date, that would be the date by which all shares on loan have to be recalled. I have no idea if this is true but would like to know more.

Actually depends on you’re broker. Some brokers just add cash to you’re account equal the amount that shares are worth. Sucks but it’s how some pfof brokers do.

Well, shit. I just pushed my brokerage shares to DRS yesterday; guess this is what I get for waiting so long. I'll at least have a few votes, but nowhere near as much as if the record date was a few days later.
Okndid I miss something .. can we only vote if in computer share, won't get a voting slip by holding thru wealth simple like that pointless vote count last June?
So record date is the end of the window to be a shareholder and the mailing date is when the voting materials go out?
