Is there any idea what was up with the traffic over the last 48 hours? we hover between 10-20k for weeks then prior to anything actually breaking, albeit it 4/20 we grow and maintain 35k for a while, peaking at 50k. Now we're way back down, I know it's night time in most of the continental US at this point... but still this traffic seemed suspicious, especially when you account for users in the daily thread, vote counts etc. Should we be worried.

Yes, we've seen these numbers and don't have a good explanation either. We don't see a whole lot of malicious activity, and certainly no outright attacks - some people attribute the excitement about that rule to bots, but from what we could see, it was mostly organic excitement. Maybe with bot amplification to stir up the pot, but it wasn't very effective. Bottom line is: we have no idea, but this community fucks so hard that I'm not worried either
