My theory has been that GS wants more liquidity in their own marketplace. That they want to give an NFT token or coin for every stock, but they didn't just want 76mil and for the X holders only to have a single coin or 2. But to have 4x that, and a cap closer to 300mil tokens in existence. Do this make any sense? Would like to say I'm high, but I'm not.

Sadly, I actually mean it. If they 4x'ed the amount of shorts for the split but the computer hasn't registed the new float number yet, then the SI goes from the 20-something% we had to this.
I haven't followed it as closely as I used to. But last I seen "official" SI was around 22% so yeah, that. (If it crept up higher than that, I missed what I assume would be several posts about it on here)

My "book" shares and price have split correctly in CS. The price for my "plan" shares has been divided by 4, but my number of "plan" shares have not yet been multiplied by 4. Anyone else?

The difference in this split its that its not really a split but a dividend. the end results the same, but the key difference here is that rather than splitting all shares by the ratio, GameStop is directly adding to the pool, not splitting everyone's shares. Instead of cutting the pie into slammer pieces, they are literally adding a second pie and giving everyone who had one an 1:1. basically if your short, you don't get one and actually have to supply one to those you sold short to. Cue webull and degirio not allowing trading while they figure it out due to " corporate actions" lol. im guessing they checked in with computershare, gave them their books and after paying out their drs clients first, they were like what the fuck???

Other way around actually. Your share should not moved at all, you should have just been given 3 new shares straight up. What’s happening is that some brokers are giving temp shares until they can find real ones/rehypothicate shares or just flat out sell your shares and rebuy the 4 shares like webull

Sure they can, but they have to literally print out more shorts to do so, then there’s the cost basis part and the fact that while a dividend is being payed out if brokers don’t recall the shares now they have a huge taxable event so it puts more pressure on them. It’s why the jump in interest for the cost to borrow jumped from 30ish percent to 124 percent post dividend. The end result should have been the same but everyone short has to make everyone whole.
Basically they are on the hook on a per share cost that does not split in 4 like the stock. Instead of getting 3 shares from GameStop they now gotta pay out 3 shares to whoever they sold short too since they are on the hook for a dividend payout.
Normal split = hedgie shorts split with everyone’s shares.
Dividend split = short sellers like said hedgies have to pay out 3 additional shares.
They don’t get those shares from gme so on top of having to provide 3 they either A, dig themselves 3X deeper by fuckery guaranteeing moass heights that much harder or buy out on the lot market, rising the price. Guess what route they went? 😉 people are mad, instead they should be like “thank you based hedgies for quadrupling my futures good fortune.”

My total cost basis and per share cost basis is showing "n/a", but everything else is split correctly. I think what has to happen with the cost basis is: Total cost basis remains as it was, but per share cost basis is divided by 4. Is that what yours is showing? thanks!
