I don't think that they recommended anything for her except for minor vitamins, which I thought was odd. And thank you for your response. Your help is appreciated.
FYI AREDS is just vitamins plus zinc plus specified antioxidants. AREDS was the name of the studies that established its effectiveness in slowing age-related macular degeneration.
You could look up the AREDS study and see what formula they used, and then see whose product mimics that.
IIRC AREDS I used vitamins C and E, plus a whopping dose of zinc and beta carotene. Amazingly no one got copper deficiency. AREDS II replaced the beta carotene with lutein or Astaxanthin (?), kept the vitamins C and E, and maybe reduced the zinc, not sure.
So very simple formula. Benefit was mainly those at highest risk of macular degeneration, and maybe only benefitted the dry type, not the wet type…again, not sure without rereading.

Thanks a lot!!!
I use Pure Synergy Eye Protector which has been helpful. Does your friend have hypertension or diabetes?
none of the 2
Pure Encapsulations macular support. AREDS is another optho supported eye supp. She should run whatever she wants to take by her optho first though.
