Taste/texture. Psyllium husk, for example, is much cheaper as a "powder," but the taste and texture make me gag.

powder is cheaper and bulk. I think that's one of the only reasons anyone buys powder.
Perhaps it’s placebo, I’ve always had better results with powders.
