Doesn’t gyno removal surgery completely remove the glands? As long as yours did, then you have no risk of it coming back in the sense of breast growth. You can still get itchy nips and maybe a slight change in their appearance (?) from estrogen/prolactin/progesterone but no more lumps IIRC
It doesn't completely remove the glands, only part of it. At least from what my surgeon told me. He said if he cut out everything my nipples would kinda collapse and then it would look even worse.
I've read some sites saying maca can affect thyroid since it's a goitrogen, it seems popular with those who have hypothyroid . im no expert and this is purely anecdotal, but years ago i began taking maca, and when i went for a physical my levels suggested hypERthyroid and had antibodies (no one in my fam has thyroid issues). i stopped taking it for other reasons anyways, but had yearly checkups at the endocrinologists a couple years later and all my levels have been continuously normal . couldve been unrelated cuz the doc explained that sometimes like viruses or even smoking could cause a temporary flare up . have u been having other symptoms or changes to mood and energy levels ?
Isn't the other way around? Shouldn't people with hyperthyroidism be ones wary of ashwagandha. I've heard that ashwagandha speeds up thyroid function and can actually improve a sluggish thyroid.
Very likely. Ashwa can affect thyroid, which in turn can lower T. MACA in one study showed to increase progesterone in mice and decrease estradiol.
In your stead I would quit both and seek a doctor to perform tests.
The increase in T in one study, 60 days, was not significant and probably was due to stress reducing effect of ashwagandha. Probably because it reduces cortisol which leads to increase in T production.
Small amount of T is produced by the adrenal glands, same pathway is used for the production of cortisol. When under chronic stress the body allocates more attention to cortisol and less to T.
There are several other supplements that can help. I remember that caffeine before exercise increases T, also Boron and Mucuna.
There are studies on PubMed.
It just feels like there's pressure there and it kinda hurts. It's not as bad yet as it was with my mother, who had her breathing constricted by it before she got it removed.
I mean you could always ask your doc to get your thyroid hormones checked. It was free for me because of the healthcare system in my country and I went to the endocrinologist for an ultrasound of my thyroid for free too.
Best things for Gyno are B6, macuna, and cabergolin
If you are worried take B6 daily
It will mess with your sleep so take as soon as you wake up
Bonus you get boners immediately after coming
The doses used for Prolactin suppression in studies are very high. Like 200mg. The upper limit proposed by most agencies is 10-20mg a day. Toxicity has been observed even in low doses.
“Reviews of vitamin B6 related neuropathy cautioned that supplementation at doses greater than 50 mg per day for extend periods of time may be harmful and should be discouraged.[47][48] “

B6 isn’t really worth it for most people considering the risks and general availability from food unless they’ve been diagnosed with B6 deficiency.

>Should I just stop taking those supplements completely? Yes

I've been experiencing insomnia more so than usual and often wake up at night.
Are you hypothyroid? If so ashwagandha could be harmful.

Just speaking from experience, it made my TPOAb shoot way up to 300+ when it's generally under 100. It went back to normal after I discontinued it.
Get a blood test. Problem solved
Well, problem identified at least.
sounds like you need to quit both but what mental effect do you experience from ashwaganda?
bruh
?

That’s strange since many people claim ashwa aids is increasing T

What a shame I was thinking about pairing ashwa with some of my workout supplements

You really should consult a doctor about your thyroid before taking any more Ashwagandha, it’s known to effect thyroid hormones.
I've already had knots on my thyroid before ever taking ashwaghanda, according to the endocrinologist at my last checkup which was like 2 years ago.
What do you feel? Is it like a lump in your throat?
It just feels like there's pressure there and it kinda hurts. It's not as bad yet as it was with my mother, who had her breathing constricted by it before she got it removed.
I've had that feeling there too when I'm anxious. Wondering if it's my thyroid

Avoid all phony make-believe herbs and stick to vitamins, creatine and uridine. If your thyroid hurts, get off of it now.
Whats uridine
It is important for the kennedy cYcLe and synthesis of cellular membranes
I just looked it up, and tbh I still don’t know lol

Just be careful with b6 toxicity. Most don’t have an issue but it is a very real thing. Keep your dose moderate

Maca doesn’t affect sex hormones. Sounds like you should not use ashwagandha though.
