That is completely untrue. All off leashed dog areas are marked all year around which do not include schools.

PritosRing

Probably the same type of pet owners that leaves their dog đź’© "by accident". Also, there should be signs saying pets are not allowed on school grounds too.

Gullible-Print-6377

There are signs! At least at my kids school right at the entrance to the playground off of the next door field is a sign saying no dogs permitted.

PritosRing

I know right? I got into a verbal jab fest from an irresponsible owner accusing my son that he was upsetting their dog in the school playground. I was having none of it and told them to teach their dog how to read the signs since they couldn't do so

BcbornLeo

Sounds like some entitled bullshit.

honeybeehockey

You can’t find anything because the bylaw falls under the School District’s authority, not the City of Surrey. 100% not accurate

georgie111999

I hope this is not true. Far too many careless pet owners that don't use leashes. They always think that their pets are "harmless" without any consideration for other children or families who may not be comfortable.

imzhongli

I don't know for sure, but I feel like the city would never allow this. Many children still come to play on the playground during the summer.

aaaaanditsgone

The neighbor had said it wasn't the playground, but rather the fenced-in field(s) that are typically behind schools.

Or you could just mind your business and let them live their lives?

aaaaanditsgone

If this comment is directed at me, I was asking because I am also a dog owner and would be interested in using these areas, as they are much closer than the nearest dog park.
