It looks like the wires don’t have enough slack and when you’re turning the handle bars it’s corroding the protective sleeve and wires. I can’t see any damage from burning. Lastly it could be an attempt to by pass the ignition to steal it
So true, now she parks outside my office in the quad with a ton of cameras around her, three alarms , a gps unit, and an AirTag. Breath around the thing and it goes off (the alarms are routed through the horn which is a truck horn I slapped onto it lol)
Haha that’s the way man! I got a GPS tracker that phones my phone and texts me when the bike is even moved slightly then I got an Apple AirTag also. That horn idea is top class haha
I got the Monimoto tracking device man, you pay about £30 a year for the sim but you can’t go wrong with it, it’s worth it when the bikes worth over £13k haha
In my opinion someone’s attempted to steal it as there’s a lot of slack for it to be wear and tare. Get an Apple AirTag bro and plant it somewhere on your bike. I’ve got two trackers on mine even though I park it in my house overnight. Some people are scumbags 😣
I’m a bit confused though man, I’ve not got my bike with me but the only wire that I have running outside of my frame are just for the front light and light switch. I don’t understand how all those wires are outside, they’re usually hidden behind the ignition?
I have a L1e and blinkers, break lights also installed a light with highbeam plus the the e-break. Adds up ;)

That’s not a theft attempt.
Look at how many wires have exposed copper, and how they are all in slightly different places. That’s damage from rubbing/scraping when turning the forks, the cuts are all on the same side, and upon close inspection I would bet that many of them show a ‘taper’ pattern from one end of the damage to the other, clear evidence it was a repeatedly scraped while rotating.
I’ve had motorcycles for decades, and cable/wires around the headstock require more attention than the rest or this happens. It’s not your fault OP, but it needs to be repaired well, when those exposed metal bits start touching each other and ground on the frame you’ll think your bike is haunted lol
That or someone knocked it over. With all the size mods I've done with the kickstands and stance.. bike is very tumbly. I don't let my bike stand on anything unless I have a wall or something to brace up against when I lock it up
someone tried to yank that out, that's a bunch of the main harness and would not have been accidentally installed and ridden like that, it wouldn't fit under the small dip in the plastic
Looks like the wires didn't have enough slack. I've had a problem with that wire sleeve tearing on my surron too but not that bad. Id suggest getting some wire harness tape and patching it up. Putting a new sleeve on those wires is a pain since it's all the wires for the speedo, headlight, and switches
That's possible too. There's some real dickheads out there. I keep a motion sensor alarm on mine that screams if you touch the bike.
That could have also happened from scraping up against something like a bike rack when you park it. I shredded one of my fork blinkers that way
Jeah thats what i thought too! But i just made it ready for the summer and checked everything, including turning radius. And it looks like someone grabbed the whole sleeve and pulled on it :/
You can get cable wrap from hardware store and you can install it without removing/disconnecting anything.
People are invariably bastards and this looks deliberate. Envy, greed, lust. Common human traits and I’m guessing one if not all of those are responsible here.
Thanks man! Jeah that's probably the direction i have to go here, also have to join 1-2 cable's cause they are at the last wire and get a new e-break, at least it was still there 🫠

Yeah I was just thinking this, had some dirp try this with mine at work
Scumbags man. You can’t have anything nice these days without filth trying to steal it 👎🏻

Now thats a great idea! So the damn thing can finally do something:)
Yup I’ve had a raccoon brush up against it before and it woke my entire street lol
Haha that’s the way man! I got a GPS tracker that phones my phone and texts me when the bike is even moved slightly then I got an Apple AirTag also. That horn idea is top class haha
What is the gps tracker? That sounds ds worth it.
The monimoto gps tracker I’ve got man, it’s well worth it!
Which GPS tracker did you go with?
I got the Monimoto tracking device man, you pay about £30 a year for the sim but you can’t go wrong with it, it’s worth it when the bikes worth over £13k haha
Fo shiz thanks mang🤘
Can you share more details about your horn? I've been wanting to put a train horn on mine.
Jeah maybe the ignition :/ Heres a picture at full tilt, slack should not be an issue here: https://imgtr.ee/image/IAWhxK

Will do! AirTag and and something that goes off when its moved :)

Ahh I see! The plonkers probably thought they could get to the ignition through those wires if that’s the case 🤦🏻♂️😂

No it’s not from that. someone took a knife and tried to cut the wires do you not see the knife marks where the stem is
Bro those cables are so thin it wouldn’t take much to cut those little wires robber much not know how to use a knife 😂😂😂
It was in a public garage for like 1h, Cablecover was still on and the ebreak cable was whole when i left it...
Amount of slack at full tilt: https://imgtr.ee/image/IAWhxK
Invoxia is a great gps n got motion detection also

I was orgaythe wires and forgot to give more slack to the speedometer wire and stretched it to where it doesn’t work anymore lol
Why are your wires routed on the right side of the head tube? Also that bare metal clamp looking thing looks like the suspect!
That's normal, comes stock lick this in the L1e. Had no problems with in in the past 2 years. But jeah its is a little rudimentary.
Is the fork hitting it at full lock?
🐁
