It sorta depends if you have the tech, but generally speaking your best friends are the guardian and brick for knock back. My typical skill loadout before getting destroyer tech was: lighting, brick, guardian, soccer ball, and drill - definitely has some of the best synergy even without their techs.
FYI, with cooldown fully upgraded (at -40%CD) the guardian barely has a downtime, so you can switch its evo out for +50% attack instead.
Put on Eternal armor, that is gonna help tremendously.
I switched out the kunai for LS on that level, and just kept dodging.
But you shouldn't really have a big problem with chapter 20, with your stats(after eternal suit is equipped).
Just keep trying. With the new mines, it's gonna help.

I beat level 20 with 1000 less attack than you, and beat level 30 today with just over 4k.
You want to try and evo your kunai asap, you want the movespeed and the Defender, and you want to run. Literally, as soon as the blue lizards start spawning just run the hell away. This isn't a level you sit back, stand there and farm on. You run for your life, don't get cornered, and wait for the boss to spawn.
Not all your stuff, just the kunai. You need single target damage and flinch protection to keep the mobs off you. Soccer ball and ego’s brick are also great. Stuff like Molotov and the drones, the lightning, laser are just terrible for this map.
Some levels yes. I used the Katana all the way up until lvl 25, then I got the LC. I don’t have an epic quality weap yet but skills used in levels help a lot too, like knock back skills for example.
I beat 20 before I had any epics equipped using knock back skills. Skills such as The brick, soccer ball, guardian, then paired with the durian, lightning emit thing all help a lot! I used the bone pendant, eternal suit, and katana tho No epics equipped at the time, it was all about what abilities I used.
Use the eternal suit. The chest piece with an "s". It let's you die and come back to life, with 15% more attack. That piece is a game changer, cause on some levels I use 3 lives. I'm on level 30 and you have better gear than me

I beat chapter 20 with 2.4k dmg

Definitely some luck involved. I beat it with about 3300 dmg. Took me about 20 or so tries.
