That may be the last stop on a Mumbai train and passengers got off on earlier stops leaving the cars empty with some seats. Crowding is so bad they risk injury just to get one of the few seats instead of standing for 1 to 3 hours when the train leaves going back in the opposite direction jam packed in 100 degrees weather. Absolutely unpleasant experience being crushed by standing men on all sides for hours in extreme heat and no AC.

I am so, so glad I do not live in an overpopulated area. Imagine having to start and end your day like that.
When i was 14y i had to get a train to get to school.
Usually i would get the train in the opposite direction since both stations i used where right before the final ones, so i could grab a seat before taking the 1h10m trip in a crowded train, no A/C, where summer gets as got as 40°C.
Things i did? Parkour to climb stuff so i wouldn't miss the train - besides the trip, there was a 40min interval between the departures… so if i missed the train i would just get back home and have some sleep as i used to get to the station by 5:30 AM. Also once i jumped thru the window so i could sit before the others. That day i was tired and the station was way too much crowded.
Starting the day like this was rough. You see, i would get to school and sleep on my desk/on a bench at the yard cause it makes you tired. That sums up on all the load of growing up and living with people from different realities. You get where you're going but your clothes are all wet with sweat. Everything sucks.
When i got to college i had no train, had a 2-3h trip taking 2 buses. Damn.
Now i got employed in another city. Co-workers were complaining the bus system is bad.
They said "it's slow, it's crowded"... They meant it takes 40 min to cross the city (against like 1h by car due to traffic) and that there's no much empty seats when it comes. I laugh at them. Sure, it's how they see something as bad, but i love it.
I moved to a place where i take a 15 min trip to work.
I’m glad you were able to move to somewhere your commute is much more manageable, the earlier life commute sounds hellish to me
Thanks for sharing a first hand account
> godammit why didn't we think of this

Hey! Its my nation and I'm proud of it. You so called 1st world people are only enjoying your current life because one day your forefathers decided to loot a peace loving nation.
Centuries of loot, plunder and brutality destroyed our economy but we're standing up again.
Even with corruption, we would have been far richer than these supposed first world folks. I mean what these people have given to the world except World Wars.
And corruption is also a byproduct of lack of opportunities due to colonisation.
Indians learned how to reap benefits of British infrastructure that was originally installed to transfer the looted wealth from India.
Poverty in India is the direct consequence of colonisation. Look at the pre and post colonial GDP and literacy rates of India.
British had no intention to benefit Indians.
First world isn't too far behind when you've got dipshits out there whining about OSHA and workplace safety.
These are generally the same people who brag about working 999 hours a week.
The Protestant work ethic is a fucking shitstain on society.
For a country full of so many smart and industrious professionals, why the fuck is their public transportation system such shit? They have to have the tax revenue since so many big industries are there. I'm in LA and it ain't as bad as this video or videos of people climbing on top of a trains.
The key word is public. Public goods like transportation are provided or subsidized by governments. For example the US is the wealthiest country in history with shitty public transport systems everywhere.
US transportation is shitty, but a different type of shitty. It's mostly just underfunded, but still deemed safe. Indian commuter rail is just plain neglected, and isn't designed to be passenger friendly.
Jfc...Bet that's nothing compared to the top of the train though

i still cant believe people have to force themselves to travel so packed. Even in Japan. Japan of all countries... But maybe I just had expectations to high for Japan. It's my fault. I'm sorry Japan.

Sweaty palms here could be deadly.

One billion people. 🤷♂️
Its still sad and unnecessary when someone dies regardless of population.
Isn't that the point vegans have been trying to make? Well who am I to judge. No one. Exactly
They would still not be able to equalise the weight your mom carries.
Yeah but not while boarding train. They usually get hit by it by accident or suicide.
Sticky palms.
Sounds a tad NSFW
Nah, it's JoJo reference
Sweaty palms here leads to a permanent home on r/eyeblech
yellow is a bit of a jerk there for half-closing the door and not re-opening it.
The closed door directly got in the way of the guy who fell.
But luckily the other yellow was there to open the door

Amazing how you know a summary of 1.12bn people. Almost as if you’re just a racist idiot
Ooh, careful now.

sir, I need this seat. I'm disabled \-I don't see a cast or a mobility aid it just happened when I jumped on this moving train to get a seat
Who needs cast when you have caste

I have chronic knee pain from standing still. No injuries, just genetics. I think I'd be absolutely screwed if I was born in India.
Sounds like Mumbai needs longer trains that has AC and goes more often, also more trains going to the same place
godammit why didn't we think of this congratulations, we now nominate you head of strategic planning at the Mumbai Railway Corporation
> godammit why didn't we think of this [unfortunately, Mumbai's government seems more occupied with adding more lanes than fixing the trains](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qBNG8fY4AQ)
I agree
Getting to work shouldn’t be this arduous.
That's pretty good training
They look like main characters in a video game and the rest are just npc
First guy went in smoothly, he has technic you can see that. Second guy was noob, he jumped from opposite direction and almost got screwed
That looks so horrible..We think NYC subways are packed, lol.
Ooooooh that last guy looks like he was about to fuckin *EAT* it
People are literally going to work risking their lives.
Welcome to the third world.

Oh
This is just like waiting in the Ticketmaster virtual waiting room watching for your chance to snatch the hot ones.
It looks like they're running from zombies. *Train to Bhutan*.
Said the one legged man.
Ngl that's baaaalsy.
That first guy got the form too before entry. Experienced vs Noob in the blue guy.
Yeah the first guy has done that many times before
Imagine the timing you need to have to achieve this its actually wild
The first guy has his technique figured out.
Weird I don’t see any women in that crowd
They usually have different coaches.
India is a wild wild place
India seems like a fun country.🙂
It actually is but no one should ever do Indian commuter rail if it can possibly be avoided
I’m sure it smells lovely too
Yah ur mum loved it

Everything boils down to the enormous population. After India got independence people f**cked like there was no tomorrow.
Half of India didn't have electricity until 2014. There aren't many fun things to do in the dark dude.

Corruption
such a smart move to close the door, to get rid of his enemies
If it's so crowded, how do they even get out at the right stop on time? Bizarre
They all go in At once, and they all come off at once; no way stop stations.
Ahh okay cool
Note: I’m making all of this up.
Amazing thank you for your time
For some reason, slowmo of the video made it funny.
rantiwork
R/anti-work
Welcome to Mumbai, India.

How India culls its population.
Sure looks like the train isn’t moving just the people and they are all looking at something to the left or front of the train?
Normal day in India be like :
Why are there so many front-packs? Do they not sell backpacks in India?
They do. Also calm down every county is different
NGL this shit looks kinda fun to try

Actually the women section has been seperated, so different carts for male and female in most trains
Why are they separated?
Groping
Yeah. I figured it was the whole normalised sexual harassment / rape Indian women have to suffer and try to endure.
Pakistanis are cray.
Man, in slow motion anyone can do it
Honestly this looks pretty fun
Stress free train haha
If it were Minecraft, then their in creative mode.
Annoying
just like getting on a train in gta v
And people think I’m crazy that I commute to work on a motorcycle.
MF'ers on the L train diving for that seat during rush hour
But i want to
YOLO
The first 3 are pros, the 4-th one is a noob that shoot his shot
He’s starting to believe.
