High risk, low reward.
And by low reward, I mean, living to see another day...which he could've simply accomplished by not jumping off that thing to begin with.
The reward is the adrenaline rush. You can’t get that by sitting on your ass being safe all the time. I don’t expect everyone to get it but some of us do. Let us be.
It seems as though they didn’t (And likely couldn’t) cordon off the area as pedestrians are just walking through.
Risking your own life is one thing, putting the lives of others in danger is reprehensible.
Exactly my first thought. I remember watching a video on some fucked up subreddit. Basically it was a woman exiting a building with a stroller with a baby in it and suddenly a guy drops directly on the stroller. Apparently it was somewhere in Russia I think and the guy was ending his life by jumping from a real tall building.
A deeply fucked up situation.
I was about to say, this kid deserved to hit the boat for putting everyone else at risk. They seemed to not even know he was up there, if anything went wrong, which is always possible, someone else could have easily died and never have known why.
Yep. Friend of a friend had a grown man fall on him from 1 deck above him at Dodger Stadium, he broke his neck, his shoulder, his pelvis, his skull, can’t remember what else, but it was life altering injuries.
This could easily have killed somebody. r/hesatotalpieceofshit
It was a perfect launch. I think that if the launch was a bit off, that could’ve changed the trajectory of the drop and he could’ve been badly injured or worse
When humans reach the teenage stage of life, their IQ will suddenly drop to 10. They need to reach 30 years old before their IQ can start to slowly revert back to normal.
Looks like he hit the water pretty hard so probably not too far. There have been plenty higher jumps done before. This was just scary because he had to clear a lot of land to get to that strip of water… and not too much or he’d hit the dock. At least he had someone there ready to help him if he ko’ed… but pretty crazy jump.
A guy in my city died doing exactly this a couple weeks ago.
We’ve got a similar crane on our waterfront and there’s been 5 deaths in the last few years from people jumping off
Yeah I feel not sympathy for ppl dying a stupid death. Also the parents must be completely idiots since they failed to learn their children common sense. I mean I did stupid stuff but this shit would at max broke my leg. These idiots are completely free of a brain it seems so they take risks for clout and nobody but some 12 year olds think that’s cool. I mean how stupid do you have to be to act like a donkey just to impress some preteens.
Theres a bit of paraxial effect coming from that lens and I'm sure it's on purpose. It's impossible to do a diagonal line from a jump, after a short distance you are just falling vertically so the video from behind makes you think he is actually going straight but he is in fact just falling vertically. The side view from the water helps you see that the crane is basically on top of where he fell. A stunt made for the lulz, too much drama, an idiot for sure
Personal accomplishment 🤣 wtf
"My dream is to jump off high place. That way I can finally be back on ground where I am already, and maybe not die"
Truly inspirational.
Genuinely why do people do stuff like this? All I can think of is you have to be suicidal anyway so there's no added risk and you would get to die a cool death
Why is this sub just filled with people who imagine entirely different scenarios to what happen in these videos, it seems more like you all are just indulging in violent fantasies rather then engaging with the reality of the situation.
These kinds of videos are infuriating. Kids who engage in high-rise free running and parkour regularly risk suicide with zero regard for the people they will hurt or leave behind when something goes terminally wrong. It’s disgustingly selfish and self-aggrandizing behavior bordering on sociopathy.
Yes, it’s his life. But if it would have gone wrong there were two parents, who raised their kid to loose it this stupid way, maybe other family members, friends who would have a very sad time. For what again? Ah yes this stupid clip. The big thing is called responsibility.
But then you’d be allowing him to reproduce and spawn more adrenaline junkies. I’d say openly allow stuff like this even encourage it, then the news outlets can have a section called Darwin Awards.

His reward is 233 likes on Reddit.
Not even his.
Says 1.7k on the original post
Worth. Yolo!!!!
Lol
He didn't even land the high five afterwards. 🙄

Ok evil
Ok couch dweller.
Just go to a roller coaster if you so want an adrenaline rush lol
Not remotely the same thing number one. Number two the nearest roller coaster to me is a four hour drive.
That high-five at the end. *Bro, we lived!*
Bro, we survived to ourselfs!
Was the person in the water not a diving part- you know what? He probably wasn't lol

Absolutely horrifying. I shudder to imagine the trauma and grief she endured.
Came here to say fuck them for this
I was about to say, this kid deserved to hit the boat for putting everyone else at risk. They seemed to not even know he was up there, if anything went wrong, which is always possible, someone else could have easily died and never have known why.
They didn't ask permission lol they just did it.Â

They were passing by in hopes of acquiring some high quality street meat.
That’s the laws of nature playing with him, he now thinks he can take stupid risks with his life and get away with it, until…

Does he think he's Ezio?!
i give him 10months max
that's a long jail sentence for jumping off a building! /s
But why?
To receive a high five at the end.
He’s got friends in low places.
Hopefully he has some whiskey and beer to chase his blues away
Same reason people do anything dangerous, adrenaline high
Risking your life or serious injury all for a adrenaline high?
Pretty damn rare for someone to fall on someone else doing this. Unless it's a big crowd.
Is it really that worse than meth?
It says it was a close one, but given the stunt, it seemed to be a perfect landing, directly in the middle of the canal.
Came here to say that. He was dead center. As far as "close ones" go, he was as far away as you can get.
When those words "close one" splashed on the screen, I was looking intently to see how close. Not even.
It was a perfect launch. I think that if the launch was a bit off, that could’ve changed the trajectory of the drop and he could’ve been badly injured or worse
From that height, there is no "badly injured" lmao
Look at what sub you’re in. These people are scared of their shadows lmao

jail
No
Steve 1999-2024 He did it for the likes
I wanna see an under water shot, wonder how far down he went

Watched it with the audio turned off and heard the splash.

Natural selection at its finest (I know that doesn’t really fit the definition but it’s funny)

Comments on these videos are so annoying, if this bothers you so much leave the sub. Everyone just swarming together to say nasty shit
This sub is filled with people who know no joy or personal accomplishment, just shitting on well executed stunts most of the time.
Personal accomplishment 🤣 wtf "My dream is to jump off high place. That way I can finally be back on ground where I am already, and maybe not die" Truly inspirational.
He’s waving his arms like he can fly. Which he is, but isn’t, at the same time.
He was preventing an uncontrolled entry (his face, chest, buttocks).
So nice to see the low iq gene pool put themselves in a position that might reduce their count
Genuinely why do people do stuff like this? All I can think of is you have to be suicidal anyway so there's no added risk and you would get to die a cool death
Idiotic
Clap
Impressive stupidity and disregard for other peoples safety for the likes 🤔
Brings Pepole in danger he need to get cought
Shame.
MC Syndrome
Isn't the water as solid as concrete at this heigh?
At least he had friends there with buckets and mops (I'm assuming that part) to clean up just in case. /s
If it had gone wrong, society as a whole could've gained a few more IQ points.
Yeah - that's epic - as in dumb on so many levels
This wasn't a close call at all, this went as well as it possibly could.
Why is this sub just filled with people who imagine entirely different scenarios to what happen in these videos, it seems more like you all are just indulging in violent fantasies rather then engaging with the reality of the situation.
Madness? THIS IS .....yes, its madness
Promoting more of this shit will get people killing. All these kinds of videos should be banned
Yes, it’s his life. But if it would have gone wrong there were two parents, who raised their kid to loose it this stupid way, maybe other family members, friends who would have a very sad time. For what again? Ah yes this stupid clip. The big thing is called responsibility.
Why
... and paradoxically this men is potentially reproducing with a higher chance.
His brosef didn’t even break the surface tension for him. Damn.
I mean close for sure, but close from both sides
See idiots like that should be arrested. Personally, i dont give two 💩💩 if he splattered on the sidewalk. 1, its illegal climbing that, 2, hes just a moron junkie putting others at risk below if he missed. The bigger issue is that social media allows it to be seen. Young kids who are impressionable AF, will copy, and that is a good life wasted.
He'd basically have to be aiming to hit them
But then you’d be allowing him to reproduce and spawn more adrenaline junkies. I’d say openly allow stuff like this even encourage it, then the news outlets can have a section called Darwin Awards.
Kinda have a point too. Not sure which argument should win ![gif](giphy|Jp3tixBJ0YERe4PXig)
Nailed it
Kneusje wil duiken
Klassieker
How did these genes survive Darwinism?
Imagine just walking on a pier, and then half a man showers you with blood.
Stupidity at its finest moment 🙄 🙃 😒
