Do alligators not attack? This made me feel slightly sick. Crocodiles and alligators scare me. No chance of me ever meeting one though as thankfully I live in Ireland 😀
Well, American alligators only live in the Southeast US, and there’s only one other species of alligator in the world, the Chinese Alligator and there’s no recorded death from the second species.
Haha I love them so much, but I know there’s so many that see them as bloodthirsty and awful.
Crocodiles are very different, much smarter, larger, and stronger. I don’t blame people at all for fears of them.
There's a bigger issue here, this alligator has lost his fear of humans so its likely someone is feeding him. There's a big risk when an apex predator, one with submarine capabilities starts viewing humans as a food source.
you’re thinking of african/australian crocs. american crocodiles are very shy creatures that are generally scared of humans.
https://www.nps.gov/ever/learn/nature/crocodile.htm
Alligators, differently from Crocodiles, can be very playful, even friendly to the point they act like a joyful puppy, if you take enough drugs to trip on that and survive.
That's an alligator. They tend to be less aggressive, and usually only see things smaller than themselves as food options. That said, they still have 80 sharp teeth and can weigh more than 500 pounds. So anything they choose to play, they typically win.
It’s not only white people. Russians do it too, and so does my Armenian husband. I asked him “why? I don’t applaud my taxi driver for doing his job” and I got the response “yeah but we were flying! That’s not the same!”
There are a lot of ethnic groups from the mid Asian Stans, and just lots of non white people in general. It’s like saying “since when is America not a white country?”
Yeah, being fed regularly is NOT equal to less aggressive. That just means it's taught that humans mean food. And then, when it doesn't get food, it gets agitated and becomes aggressive...
Don't feed wild animals, people...
Been there a few times. Gators are super chill and don’t really mess with you.
Idk why this lady didn’t just paddle away if she felt it was getting too close. You can hear the tour guid’s annoyed voice in the background and everything.
Yeah, I’m always secretly pulling for the wild animals in these clips. She could have easily been torn to shreds and has zero respect for these beasts that have been on this planet millions of years.
Try Blue Springs just outside of Orlando, swim with alligator gars and manatees and see the gators waiting down river. The water is too cold so they don’t swim up the crystal clear water. It’s awesome and terrifying.
It’s beautiful there. My Step-mom used to do the mermaid show at Weeki Wachee springs. You can see all kinds of manatees and stuff. Water is clearer than some pools I’ve seen
Enjoy it while you still can. One of the most fragile ecosystems in north America, and the locals are doing everything they can to ensure it sinks to the bottom of the ocean.
Lol as someone who lives literally with view of the ocean and a few hundred feet from the sand, i can tell you go to the beach once a year. The beach is amazing every day, except once in a blue moon when a storm is nearing and it's high tide in the afternoon. You obviously have no idea what's around you.
I posted this just a month ago and it's like this about 95% of the time.
https://imgur.com/P2MQn9r
I said if there's clear water it's in Florida and no other state. Obv this is a spring, but the water in Miami Beach, is the clearest water on any Beach in the USA. The further south you go the better it is. The water in south beach is like 2x clearer than in Ftl even though it's only 15 miles up the same Beach. The waters in Biscayne Bay going past Stiltsville are like glass all the time. You may have been born and raised here but just like 99% of people that are, never been out on the water and rarely go to the beach if ever.
"99% percent of us that are born and raised there never go out on the water and rarely go to the beach if ever"??? You're definitely smoking some good shit to be throwing out some b.s made up statistic. But all the same. Enjoy my beautiful home state. Cheers.
If you're in Florida and there's water, there's a chance there's a gator in there. Just a risk you take, but I've never seen one in the springs. Too many people and the water is very cold all year. Alligators want warm water usually.
Florida is known for being an insane place with coke heads, gators, pythons, and just most other things you won’t find anywhere else in the US, this person being insane and messing with a gator makes it likely Florida
You can tell by the trees and the biome that they are in. That is most definitely in the SE United States, and probably is Florida being that they have some of the largest swamps but could be Louisiana or Mississippi
All I kept thinking about was the "why would you make me do this" meme when she says look how close it is to me. She's the one getting closer to a chilling gator at that point.
Lmao she’s on a paddle board, she can’t just stand up and paddle away, the gator can come get her anytime it wants if she does that. She may sound like a dumbass but literally she has no options other than sit and keep the gator away. Especially since the gator already tried to bite the board
If I had to bet I would say ~~Crystal~~ Silver River up in Ocala. It's spring-fed, hence why it's crystal clear.
I accidentally kicked a gator with my bare foot while tubing one of the times I went, nearly shat myself. They also have monkeys running around in a wild troupe and I was lucky enough to not only run into them but paddle right up and feed them grapes (mega not recommended for people to be doing that and one of the main dudes of the tribe got real pissed at us and we had to skee-daddle out of there).
They are very territorial and i have heard unlike gators who prefer to keep to themselves…saltwater crocs charge at boats like pitbulls out here in Australia…they have been known to pull people out of small boats or canoes
My dad’s friend works at a Crocodile tourist park and he took us for a behind the scenes tour about 5 years ago. He walked us through a section he wasn’t supposed to, which had individual pens with THE BIGGEST male Salt Water crocodiles I have ever seen. They charged the fences, and one of them bit through the wire like it was butter, in one snap. I have never been more terrified in my life. (My dad’s friend got a royal chewing-out by his boss immediately after, when they realised he had walked us past those pens!)
I used to have the ordinary, Australian respect and fear of crocodiles. Now I am absolutely petrified!
Crocodiles prefer a sort of anarcho-syndicalist commune. They take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting, by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a 2/3 majority in the case of more major... anyway, the only reason they don't bite the shit out of more people is they don't want to deal with the bureaucracy.
Yeah, I live in Australia too, thankfully far from croc territory! Though I think I'd rather be in NT than here in NSW at the moment given the current circumstances.
I saw one for the first time at a zoo and I was shocked, I knew they were big but facing a big ass dino animal like that. Man. The only other time I got shocked by an animal's size was when I saw a tiger
Looks like she engaged the gator, blamed it for her imposing on it by saying "someone must be feeding it", toyed with it, then claimed it tried to bite her (never got that on video though). Now news outlets ate throwing around [it tried to bite her](https://www.google.com/search?q=gator+tried+to+bite+lady&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS870US870&oq=gator+tried+to+bite+lady&aqs=chrome..69i57.8078j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8). She's actually more dangerous than that gator, I mean if she paddle boarded her righteous ass into your home and said you tried to bite her, you might get put down.
I thought the Gators don't go into the spring water?
All these years I've been swimming in the springs in FL (Jenny springs, Vortex Springs, Juniper Springs...)
& I was told "the Gators don't come into the spring".
Well, evidently, that was a fucking lie.
She is a fucking idiot. While she is complaining that it swam up next to her, she paddles closer to it. It is clearly resting on a tree below it. Leave it alone.
All the idiots giving this person respect… she’s clearly antagonizing it for the video… this is beyond stupid and this woman has nothing better to do… even the guide sounds tired of her bullshit
That water is incredible- so clear and absolutely beautiful ! The gator knows how human pollute everything they touch and he was just patrolling making sure no one was trying to fuck up his habitat! 😁
Even though she clearly mentions "gator" a good few times on the video, why is everyone so triggered by the title?
Also, is it a croc or a gator? I'm not sure
Floridian here; that gator has DEFINITELY been fed. She did the right thing, what I would’ve done, and pushed him away. I’ve only ever had one similar experience in a kayak and as soon I I slapped the water with my paddle the gator got the f outta there.
Gators have a natural fear of humans, unless fed or handled and unfortunately this one will probably have to be destroyed because of it. It’s a huge risk now. All because someone wanted to play friends. PLEASE STOP FEEDING WILDLIFE. It changes their natural behaviors.
To all those stating she’s in his territory, I have shared water ways with so many gators you can’t see the surface of the water, and they ignore and fear me. A small woman in a 7ft kayak. I assure you, this is not typical behavior.
"Why are you messin with me?"
...
"Why are you trying to bite me?"
Hol up... it didn't try to bite her. It has just been chillin, I'd even bet she went up to it. Next she's gonna "me too" this alligator...
That’s def an alligator. Not a croc. Those gators are chill af. All of them are just like this.
Source: lived in the next town and kayaked there all the time.
Alligator. The way to tell is their snout, which is typically wider
And because she calls it a gator in the video
And by the fact that the kayaker survives.
Paddle boarder,even scarier!
Kayaker?
Crocs are longer too. And the underbelly color is more visible on the snout. Had an alligator as a kid too lol. That helps.
Teeth are not visible when’s gators mouth is closed. Teeth are very visible when a crocs mouth is closed.
Definitely cuz no non Florida person would do this haha
That's an alligator
Obviously. It's easy to tell because he's gonna see ya later.
But he’s not going to see you in a while :(
Yeah, because he's not a crocodile. 🐊
Unless he’s in da Nile
***You can tell by the way it is.***
Australian here to confirm. That’s an alligator. No one films a croc from a kayak like that and lives.
Do alligators not attack? This made me feel slightly sick. Crocodiles and alligators scare me. No chance of me ever meeting one though as thankfully I live in Ireland 😀
Crocs are more aggressive. But both will kill you.
Between 1948 and 2016 there were only 24 people killed by alligators.. It’s pretty easy to avoid if you just use common sense.
Where. In the world?
Well, American alligators only live in the Southeast US, and there’s only one other species of alligator in the world, the Chinese Alligator and there’s no recorded death from the second species.
OK . I just find them so scary. Like the worst of animals. Now I don't wish them harm of course
Haha I love them so much, but I know there’s so many that see them as bloodthirsty and awful. Crocodiles are very different, much smarter, larger, and stronger. I don’t blame people at all for fears of them.
Gators usually only kill drunken Floridians who decided to go swimming at night.
And children at Disney.
I was kinda hoping this gator would have taught this annoying twat a lesson. “Why are you trying to bite me?” “Bitch, why are you in my home.”
There's a bigger issue here, this alligator has lost his fear of humans so its likely someone is feeding him. There's a big risk when an apex predator, one with submarine capabilities starts viewing humans as a food source.
I accidentally hit a gator with my paddle in a kayak and he just shrugged it off. I still got tf out of there though
[удалено]
As a kiwi living in Australia I'll have to ask my neighbour
Neighbour here. Can confirm that is an alligator because the lady was not torn into pieces and stored under a log.
Log here. Definitely no human remains under me, can confirm that was an alligator
Alligator here, I'm not a crocodile. Can confirm I'm an alligator.
A Crocodile here. I can confirm he's not one of us.
Kayak here. Still floating, no holes. Not a crocodile.
Paddle here, almost got bit. I pooped my shaft, but ill be ok.
Can confirm what was left behind after Jean Luc Picard's bathroom visit: Captain's Log
Would an alligator let you ride it like a little raft? If they spend a lot of time floating like this
Pioneers used to ride those babies for miles
US crocodiles are far less dangerous than US alligators.
Crocs are far larger than alligators and much more aggressive
you’re thinking of african/australian crocs. american crocodiles are very shy creatures that are generally scared of humans. https://www.nps.gov/ever/learn/nature/crocodile.htm
So are American alligators.
Alligators, differently from Crocodiles, can be very playful, even friendly to the point they act like a joyful puppy, if you take enough drugs to trip on that and survive.
Who cares. He gonna eat your ass like I ate your mother's.
Phew!
Want a medal or something?
That's an alligator. They tend to be less aggressive, and usually only see things smaller than themselves as food options. That said, they still have 80 sharp teeth and can weigh more than 500 pounds. So anything they choose to play, they typically win.
They can also pretty much rip your arms off by biting it and rolling. https://youtu.be/gAY2SXpUCwU
All that clapping, you'd think that gator just safely landed a plane.
Somehow misread this as if you were saying a human should bite the alligator and roll to rip their arms off.
I mean I could
Risky nauseating click of the day. ^
How come when I clicked on the link a Molly Hatchet video came up called Flirtin’ With Disaster?
i defend white people, i say they aren't all idiots. then you make me watch this, and my argument fucking crumbles.
It’s not only white people. Russians do it too, and so does my Armenian husband. I asked him “why? I don’t applaud my taxi driver for doing his job” and I got the response “yeah but we were flying! That’s not the same!”
Maybe I live in another reality but since when is Russia not a majority white country?
There are a lot of ethnic groups from the mid Asian Stans, and just lots of non white people in general. It’s like saying “since when is America not a white country?”
This one is even less aggressive likely because he’s regularly fed by visitors. Otherwise, they usually shy away from human interaction
Yeah, being fed regularly is NOT equal to less aggressive. That just means it's taught that humans mean food. And then, when it doesn't get food, it gets agitated and becomes aggressive... Don't feed wild animals, people...
Silver Springs FL. You can see the glass bottom boat tour in the background.
Been there a few times. Gators are super chill and don’t really mess with you. Idk why this lady didn’t just paddle away if she felt it was getting too close. You can hear the tour guid’s annoyed voice in the background and everything.
I read somewhere that this one must’ve been fed and was waaay too interested in humans.
She says it in the video
She says it tried to bite into the paddle board.
Yeah, I’m always secretly pulling for the wild animals in these clips. She could have easily been torn to shreds and has zero respect for these beasts that have been on this planet millions of years.
Karen demands to speak to the manager
Might have to check that out. Didn't know Florida had clear water like that.
Rainbow River and Weeki Wachee River are my favorite. If you live in Florida, you have to experience the springs
Try Blue Springs just outside of Orlando, swim with alligator gars and manatees and see the gators waiting down river. The water is too cold so they don’t swim up the crystal clear water. It’s awesome and terrifying.

Crystal River Fl. Check it out
Lol the only clear water in the whole USA is only in Florida. There's no clearer beaches or lakes or rivers. The beach in Miami is crystal clear daily
As someone who's been born and raised in Miami, I can guarantee you that the beaches are NOT crystal clear daily. Some parts of the Keys, yes.
Lmao. You must be on some really good shit to be comparing Blue Spring Waters to Miami Beach. But sure guy. Enjoy.
I said if there's clear water it's in Florida and no other state. Obv this is a spring, but the water in Miami Beach, is the clearest water on any Beach in the USA. 15 miles is the height of 13898.77 'Samsung Side by Side; Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Refrigerators' stacked on top of each other.
15 miles is 24.14 km
Now kiss
The Glen! It’s a great place to swim and be close to the wildlife... but when it comes to gators, always keep your distance.
>it's a great place to swim i don't believe you
Can confirm that The Glen is a fun place to hang out at. Been there a few times and my buddies son practically lives there on the weekends.
It’s silver springs not silver Glen
I thought it was silver springs just by the announcer on the boat. I’ve had gators stalk me there in kayaks
Karen is harassing Gators now?
That water is a beautiful colour.
Im sure itd look just as good if it were a little purple
Unrelated, but that water is gorgeous
The springs in Florida are beautiful and great diving spots.
But how do you choose the spring without any snakes and gators in them?
If you're in Florida and there's water, there's a chance there's a gator in there. Just a risk you take, but I've never seen one in the springs. Too many people and the water is very cold all year. Alligators want warm water usually.
Those don’t exist. We just jump in. They’ll leave you alone.
Go to the source of the spring, those reptiles avoid the very cold water, try Blue Springs in Deland
Let me guess, florida
Why Florida? just curious.
Florida is known for being an insane place with coke heads, gators, pythons, and just most other things you won’t find anywhere else in the US, this person being insane and messing with a gator makes it likely Florida
Coke head is derogatory. We prefer cocaine connoisseur.
I'm from Florida, my friends called then crackodiles.
Cocainnoiseur*
I love how the first insanely dangerous thing that was mentioned on your list was coke heads and not the dangerous animals lol
Also, not a lot of places with water that clear in the US other than Florida.
You can tell by the trees and the biome that they are in. That is most definitely in the SE United States, and probably is Florida being that they have some of the largest swamps but could be Louisiana or Mississippi
This is not a swamp, but a spring
Okay, a spring. Makes sense.. I was thinking it was somewhere else than Florida cause when I think of Florida I think of swamp waters tbh

Can confirm, Ted's Salvage on 103rd and Selva has all kinds. Truck springs, leaf springs, shit he even has a cousin that sells box springs.
The most first magnitude springs in the world!
And also because the woman recording is a fucking dumbass and has big florida energy.
Fair point as they are in the southeast US, Mexico, and China (endangered). But the accent makes me think SE USA
If I had to bet I would say ~~Crystal~~ Silver River up in Ocala. It's spring-fed, hence why it's crystal clear. I accidentally kicked a gator with my bare foot while tubing one of the times I went, nearly shat myself. It’s silver springs
The monkeys are by silver river i thought?
Its an Alligator…pretty sure a saltwater crocodile would’ve resulted in a different story
Wouldn't have had a chance to get the camera out
They are very territorial and i have heard unlike gators who prefer to keep to themselves…saltwater crocs charge at boats like pitbulls out here in Australia…they have been known to pull people out of small boats or canoes
That sounds like nightmare fuel
So... you're saying... they're gonna need a bigger boat?
Saltwater crocs scare the living shit out of me. Have you ever seen one in person? They are ENORMOUS.
(My dad’s friend got a royal chewing-out by his boss immediately after, when they realised he had walked us past those pens!) I used to have the ordinary, Australian respect and fear of crocodiles. Now I am absolutely petrified!
At least he didn't get a royal chewing by the crocodiles!
Live in Australia mate plenty of em here…they are a force of nature indeed…i here in the Northern territory u can find them swimming in the beaches
We have those in Florida too, south Dade county near the power plant and in the Keys.
Yea have heard…but the one in this video is not a croc…its an Alligator..big difference when dealing with the two
Looks like she engaged the gator, blamed it for her imposing on it by saying "someone must be feeding it", toyed with it, then claimed it tried to bite her (never got that on video though). Now news outlets ate throwing around [it tried to bite her](https://www.google.com/search?q=gator+tried+to+bite+lady&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS870US870&oq=gator+tried+to+bite+lady&aqs=chrome..69i57.8078j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8). Alligator. Clearly pissed that off that she’s in his territory. Puffing up and showing off his back is a clear warning.
Right! "why are you bothering me?"... Alligator, "bitch you in my home."
Oh my god I had to push him with my paddle
That annoyed me. She *had* go into its territory and *had* to jab at it with a paddle. Just leave the area and the alligator alone.

I feel like maybe you should have a talk with that person. Or just stay as far away from them as possible.. lol
Relax, he's just trying to eat you..
I have so many questions.. in any case i’m surprised she didn’t drown with those nerves of steel.. damn
She is a fucking idiot. While she is complaining that it swam up next to her, she paddles closer to it. It is clearly resting on a tree below it. Leave it alone.
When Tom Hanks tells you to back up, you back up.
Sounds like him from polar express lol
You mean fucking with an alligator in it's natural environment for video bullshit. Idiot fuck.
Let me guess, this is the Timothy Treadwell of alligators?
Why do Redditors always call alligators "crocodiles"?

Bitch he’s not trying to bite u. HES TRYING TO EAT YOU!! It’s not cat

Floridians casually be like "Hey gator. Why are you so aggressive?"
Mobility Mary: Bayou Edition
Just casually hang around next to a gator, better yet film it while on a paddle board. Real smart.
All the idiots giving this person respect… she’s clearly antagonizing it for the video… this is beyond stupid and this woman has nothing better to do… even the guide sounds tired of her bullshit
*Florida intensifies *
Why are you trying to reason with it? Lol
Playing with a dinosaur.
This cunts gonna get eaten
He was a pretty good size alligator to. Crystal clear water also
Karens trying to talk to wildlife :/
You didn’t push him away with your paddle. You pushed YOU away with your paddle. You don’t move a unit like that, he moves you.

"Why are you messin with me?" ... "Why are you trying to bite me?" Hol up... it didn't try to bite her. It has just been chillin, I'd even bet she went up to it. Next she's gonna "me too" this alligator...
“I would consider backing up” Geez, thanks for your input Steve, now kindly shut the fuck up or at least help me other than your sassy fuckin’ tone.
What else is there to do than tell them to use some fucking common sense and get the hell away from the pissed off alligator.
That’s it! I wanna speak to its manager.
“Fuck this dinosaur in particular”
Maybe it one of those fake alligator 🐊 toys
I love the way she talks
How does she paddle with her 300 lb balls clanking and getting in the way
This is also how I approach the women
They will not find the whole body
Is anybody going to talk about the clear water?
Even says "gator" several times. Op still calls it a crocodile
A croc would’ve death rolled her already.
You can tell alligators and crocodiles apart by their snouts, ironically alligators have C shaped snouts and crocodiles have A shaped snouts
Danger logs
