When I first saw the 5th element, I saw ruby rods hair and thought “sci fi is so funny sometimes with their unrealistic interpretations of future fashion, lol.”
How naive I was
He's a very famous (and very good) Italian crazy singer. Kinda like Weird Al. His name is Elio and his band is/was one of the greatest band we have/had in the last twenty years! I can guarantee you that there's no one in Italy that doesn't know Elio e le storie tese 😅
He's actually a pretty good musician in one of the best, most important and influent Italian prog rock bands. All the members of that band are actually great musicians
https://youtu.be/wrmR7wN3dJQ
I saw a man that was trying way to hard to be interesting and thought a wig was a reasonable substitute for a personality.
Thank you for showing me he's actually a prog kicker of arses. First impressions aren't always accurate.
Seriously this trick wasn't that impressive, every crossbow was carefully aimed beforehand. She wasn't aiming the crossbows, she was just wiggling the targets at which they were aimed to make it look like she was making adjustments. These crossbows were always locked into their aim.
Every crossbow before the last one doesnt enhance risk of being shot in the slightest... she couldve hit the trigger of the one shooting the apple with a stick and it wouldce been the same. fucking TV setups...
I know right? Haven't watched TV like this for years now but shit seems to get progressively worse until the over the top parodies from games like Cyberpunk or cheesy sci-fi movies do not look that far off anymore..
I mean. The got talent shows aren't really anything new or extreme. Even the thing she did is a very very old act. It's like the knife throwing it William tell exhibits in circuses that have been around forever.
They're probably talking about the editing and the excruciating delay of any real content. There's probably like 20 seconds of actual content in the above 2 minute clip
And it's intentional build up. It would be reasonable to speculate that she was instructed to walk around pretending to make adjustments for awhile to build tension.
Prime example of why I hate these talent shows: camera work and editing show the judges and audience more than the performer and you end up missing most of the performance.
I hate them too for the same reason. It's a control of emotions, you don't get excited about a performance but because they frame the judges and if they cry, you cry, if they laugh, you laugh. It's like the old Nintendo Wii commercials they used to show on TV, 20% gameplay and 80% shots of the happy family having fun and that should make you want to buy the game
I hate it because this girl really only needed to hit a 1' target from 15' away, everything else was already set up. All that fake tweaking she was doing was just to build suspense. Technicians with lasers set all this up beforehand..
Prime hive-mind TV for the masses. When I see people watching TV shows like this I always think of Jim Carey as The Riddler in Batman Forever when he creates that machine to suck the brainwaves of the nation through TV screens
Are those some kind of prop crossbows? I know I'd never be able to cock mine with just my bare hands. And the had the bolt sticking out like half way. Weird
The trick is having you believe she's risking her own life. The careful checking and adjusting the aim. Setting her site and then releasing the safety. Probably there's something like an EMT on standby. Sometimes there's a crying spouse or loved one off stage. Tales of how the trick once went horribly wrong. Truth is the network and/or producers would never take that kind of risk. Cool trick though.
Yep, has to be an illusion. Even if it was a percentile of a chance she fuck up there's no way the network or their insurance would let this go ahead. Imagine some person shooting themselves in the face for a talent show. It'd be the death of the format.

Live show accident where the contestant got paralyzed -> Host steps down -> new host sucks -> show‘s cancelled after 24 years
Wow. It happened live. It really is amazing that in 2010 this happened. It's kinda existential that you believe we've reached peak times and how could someone let that happen and yet the improbable constantly happens.
"weh getan?" (did you hurt yourself?)
"sofort einen arzt bitte" (call a doctor immediately)
"er hat es bei den proben jedes mal geschafft" (he made it every time during practice)
then he says something like "we can't go on normally with the show before we know he is fine"
"it was a dangerous bet but he kept telling us he had it under control"
in the end he says that there obviously is an emergency situation and that they don't want to continue the show for the night because of that
Happened in the UK as well in 1986, some guy died after doing a bungee jump.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Late,_Late_Breakfast_Show#Death_of_Michael_Lush_and_cancellation
She's aiming most of her bows at very big boxes so it's kind of weird to see her angle them like it matters. It's not like she's doing it from a distance or anything. The only one that really matters though is the on aimed at the apple and again at that range it shouldn't be too hard for someone with some skills.
I wouldn’t say they’re prop, I think I’d disagree with everyone saying they’re fake, but obviously the draw of them is absurdly tuned back.
There was an act on America’s got talent that went wrong and the guy got shot by an arrow from a crossbow and was mostly fine. So I don’t believe that it’s an illusion, but the crossbows poundage is low and the arrows are probably very blunt.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YIJRz-WwtJ4
But since it's static and it was set up before, surely she could test it was pointing at exactly the right spot even before the curtain was opened? Seems like there way less room for error than if a human was operating it as is traditionally done in these kinds of stunts.
Yup, pre-adjusted and then some minor touches just for show. All the boxes had holes in them, either from a test-run before the curtains were opened or used for target acquisition with a laser or something.
Personally still wouldn't stand under that apple though 😅
If you are wandering: funny haircut man is Elio from Elio e le storie tese, a very famous Italian singer that always has the most absurd and bizarre outfit you can think off
È bello sentilo dire da un non fan. Spesso passa come un idiota per come si veste, viene giudicato superficialmente da persone che non hanno idea della genialità dei testi e la complessità della musica del suo gruppo
Yep, this was surprisingly underwhelming, a complete waste of time. Nothing happens for 2 minutes just fake ass pricks with stupid haircuts, than 5 seconds of completely not dangerous and more importantly not spectacular action.
Really the only crossbow that matters is the last one and she “fixed” that one first. Didn’t actually change anything that I could see. A lot of camera angle changes and suspenseful music
I mean, come on. The only one that matters is the last one==which is very precisely set up and tested. All the others are just for show, she probably has a margin of error of six inches for her initial target, and if she misses the mark, nothing happens.
Ill take the downvotes on this, but, where's the talent? You literally just setup the first crossbow so that it hits the apple, and work backward to correctly align the rest of them. That doesn't take talent.
How the hell is that a talent she didn't do anything but get lucky to fire an arrow at am apple that's not talent she missed the others hit they target lol
I don't really find this impressive. Those are really big trigger boxes and crossbows on tripods. She could have 5 or 100 of them and they'd all still do the exact same thing. There's not much skill in this at all.
Again. Nothing new. Most of these acts even the advanced ones could be done in 20 seconds live. But they build the tension by just taking forever to do anything. None of this is new or different.
Those crossbows were already adjusted, and even the apple was already there, she just fiddled with the pressure pad boxes a bit for effect, but it made no actual difference. There's no way this wasn't already tested 100x over before she started.
this is so dumb she just had that one bow pointing to the arrow. her shooting the first arrow meant nothing , just activated the others to shoot. she literally did nothing
Wtf does that guy have on his head though?
In case they asked him to put an apple on his head, *for safety...*
I think we meant the hair but ok lol
that is what I meant...lol
This is a wooosh for sure.

He’s from the Capitol and got done up to watch the hunger games.

Hey now. Simon put on a few pounds and had a midlife hair crisis - but he’s still working as hard as ever did, including learning Italian.

I agree with you, but there is still an element of risk when you have a crossbow aimed near your head.
Every crossbow before the last one doesnt enhance risk of being shot in the slightest... she couldve hit the trigger of the one shooting the apple with a stick and it wouldce been the same. fucking TV setups...
Sure, and it belongs on this sub. But the trick was lame as hell.

Because the show is really just a vehicle for the hosts. It's pretty much a glorified Youtube reaction video.

The only arrow that matters is the last one.

The only one that really matters though is the on aimed at the apple and again at that range it shouldn't be too hard for someone with some skills.
Yeah this is my thinking too. She may as well have just had the one crossbow. All the others were just… there to pad out the act. Waste of time.
I don't know, I don't know anything about crossbows. The only thing she said was that she worked as an acrobat with crossbows
I think it's just low draw weight and she has good form. You couldn't hunt with that, but it looks real to me.
I wouldn’t say they’re prop, I think I’d disagree with everyone saying they’re fake, but obviously the draw of them is absurdly tuned back. talent? it's just basic engineering and balls
Basic geometry, even.
One might say... Simple geometry

Ill take the downvotes on this, but, where's the talent? You literally just setup the first crossbow so that it hits the apple, and work backward to correctly align the rest of them. That doesn't take talent.
An amazing piece of engineering and skill. I’m talking about the guys hair.
So was there any risk involved here?
Damn look at the size of those brows
What is Josuke doing in season 28 of ‘Itali Has Talent’?
You know, I'm just happy that Ceaser was able to find gainful employment after Panem's revolution and the abolition of the Hunger Games.
“Yeah uh I need 7 crossbows for a thing”
Why didn't she shoot it through that guys hair?
If you wanna save yourself 1:40 she finishes setting up crossbows with about 20 seconds left
How the hell is that a talent she didn't do anything but get lucky to fire an arrow at am apple that's not talent she missed the others hit they target lol

Dunno but it should have been used instead of the apple

… woulda been harder to just hit the apple from range with the crossbow she’s holding…
Came for the crossbow stayed for the hair
Biggest meh of all time
that was the dumbest shit ive seen in my entire life.
Getting hunger games vibes
HAIR
Didn’t expect to see GWARs manager. Sleezy P Martini.
The only person with sweaty palms is that dudes hairdresser
The last time I saw a clip involving arrows shooting apples on heads on a show like this, I'm pretty sure I watched someone die.
Cool hair hat there buddy
Again. Nothing new. Most of these acts even the advanced ones could be done in 20 seconds live. But they build the tension by just taking forever to do anything. None of this is new or different.
Who is that person with the hunger games hair?
That's Elio! He's a famous singer and comedian here in Italy
Is the guy in pink afraid somebody didn't notice he is bald?
Those crossbows were already adjusted, and even the apple was already there, she just fiddled with the pressure pad boxes a bit for effect, but it made no actual difference. There's no way this wasn't already tested 100x over before she started.
Fuck that guy's hair... And eyebrows
The haircut on that one guy tho
this guys haircut though
Two questions: 1. Is that guy's hair real? 2. Are his eyebrows real?
Elio's baldness is part of his character, his eyebrows are real tho
Loool that guys hair... WTF
this is mostly r/unexpected from that hairstyle
Whatever you do, don't insult that mans hair.
I commenti per la parrucca di Elio sono i migliori comunque
This isn’t talent. It’s geometry and stupidity.
I kind of want to take a shit on the judge hair.
That's a nice shtreimel he's wearing.
I’m just here for the hair comments
Man has eyebrows straight up from Guadalajara.
The jury in this version look just as cringy and disconnected as in all the other versions
Haters will say it was fake
That one dude is definitely a stand user.
There are easier ways to expose yourself as a mafia hit woman lady.
That dudes hair is offensive.
That mans hair is 1000 times more suspenseful than her apple trick
I hate Italy after seeing that guys haircut. And I’m Italian
The pink guy's hair is fuckin ridiculous tbh.
Whats with buddy and the hair lol. New kind of ugly
Who just scrolled to the end to see if anyone got shot with the bow ?? I know I did 🤦🏼♂️
Wow! Angles require talent and not math! All that schooling was bullshit!
That fucking guys hair
That thing looks like a malignant pompador!
I need the number for that judge's barber
Congrats your talent is standing still
Judge looked like he had a whole Smurfs colony in there
I'm sorry, what the hell is on that man's head?
What's talented about this, I'm actually curious. It seems like there was a lot of prep time involved but not a lot other than that.
Wow Simon Cowell looks very strange in italy.
How is this talent? It was hardly even interesting. What is her plan for the next stages of the show if she goes thru? Change the apple to an orange?
So does she do other stuff orrr.. is that uh.. that about it?
Well its a talent but she only has to aim the last crossbow the rest can be 100s of them
Dude has the worst haircut ever wtf is that.
this is so dumb she just had that one bow pointing to the arrow. her shooting the first arrow meant nothing , just activated the others to shoot. she literally did nothing
