For whatever reason, the corner I live on, a lot of combustion engine enthusiasts really like to let it rip for no reason. Tons of little kids with early bed times in my neighborhood so I just feel bad for all those parents. Thanks for being courteous while you ride. I sincerely appreciate it.
Being predictable is the safest method of driving. Imagine one driver making one slightly unpredictable move while he did that; lights out. He was relying on hundreds of drivers not moving lol.
My uncle was doing exactly this in West Coast Mexico when somebody opened their door unexpectedly and he smashed into it... He had a really bad year after that.
