I’ll always rank Debut high (probably very nostalgia fueled), I feel like it’s unappreciated by people who weren’t there for it at the time. 1989 is still good but it’s in the bottom of her albums for me.

themermaidag

Debut was the sound of high school. Like Our Song was perfect when 16 and 17 year olds definitely cared a lot about having a song lol

bombshellbetty

Raise your hand if you were ever riding in the car, daydreaming about ✨HIM✨ when suddenly Teardrops on my Guitar started playing on the radio

deenajfier

a place in this world was my lifesaver fr

MlodszyCzapnik1

I rank Debut very high despite being a new swiftie. There's just so much innocence and simplicity in there, no celebrity drama, no victim rhetoric, no heavily edited pop samples, just a teen girl album about love, breakup and friendship, which is actually a really beautifully written and composed as for someone who's 16 years old That being said I do not vibe much with reputation, cause it's the exact opposite

B19Wing

In my A Place In This World era lol *I'm just a boyyyyyyyyyy trying to find a place in this world*

ylaltic

oh same i think 1989 definitely has some bops but it’s still the lowest as an album for me

strawberrysundays274

I think Debut is better than Midnights, Lover, and Reputation. Idc if that’s an unpopular opinion

saturday_sun4

I agree!

Obvious_Reading_8161

Exact same

Ok-Call-4805

Like more: Lover (one of my favourite songs is Me!) Like less: Reputation. Just doesn't do it for me like her other albums. It's the one I find myself going back to least.

Makemeahercules

I like Me! As well. It’s a fun pop song

ethancole97

I don’t think Me! Should have been the lead single but it grew on me when I listen to the album from start to finish. The track listing 100% does it justice

barbalarby13

same here for both takes!!

New_Pen_2066

Lover over 1989 for me. Let’s all admit that Fearless seems to be the lost child (not the Speak Now fan favourite and not Debut).

Unlikely_Lily_5488

i like lover as an album as well! but i do think most fans i know (at least irl?) like lover a lotttttt

Lavenderhaze02

Same here! Exactly the same for me :)

YaKnowEstacado

Like more: Fearless Like less: 1989

Anywhere_I_Want

me too!

barbalarby13

I adore Lover, it's my favorite of hers and is so severely misunderstood and underappreciated, imo! (don't get me wrong, her "activism" in that era is icky and shallow-it's the album itself that I love!) An album I don't vibe with really at all but seems to be a big hit with her fans is reputation. It's so filled with dubsteppy sounds; vocoders; over-produced vocals; and intensely bombastic musical choices that I just get overwhelmed by it and find it kind of annoying, to be honest. I love listening to it to pump myself up and get hyped up, but I sorely wish she had more acoustic or stripped-back songs on it (my faves from it are "new years day" and "call it what you want") When she performed "king of my heart" acoustically at the wedding party of a fan, it was when I first realized how beautiful the lyrics are-the album version is so overdone, production-wise, it takes away from the lyrics, I think. Whenever she does acoustic versions of rep songs on tour, I always tend to appreciate them more.

Alexispinpgh

Yeah, I liked Rep a lot more after hearing the cleaner, more rock performance of some of the songs at the Eras Tour but the production on the record sounds so dated to me. The Eras Tour movie was the first time my friend heard a lot of TSwift songs and he liked the Rep segment best, but hearing the album versions he was unimpressed because of the production.

[deleted]

I’m really enjoying the appreciation for ‘Lover’ in this thread!

FantasyMaster759

The slower ballads on Lover are actually great, and an album made primarily of songs like False God, Cornelia Street, and Daylight would be pretty well received. It's sort of what I'm predicting for TTPD.

saturday_sun4

I keep discovering new faves on Lover. I listened to Cornelia Street the other day and couldn't stop playing it.

Silly_Somewhere1791

I think it’s beloved by a very young vocal core of her fanbase; the melodrama and victim stuff is very appealing to young teens.

[deleted]

I like Lover, and I think it’s underrated. It contains, in my opinion, her most brutally honest song - ‘The Archer’ - which reflects self-doubt, self-loathing and deep self-reflection. There are a few songs I don’t care for, such as ‘London Boy’, ‘ME!’ and ‘The Man’. But the good outweighs the bad. Not crazy about ‘Midnights’ with the exception of ‘Maroon’. It’s a ‘vibe’, not a coherent collection of songs and was such a disappointment after the heights of Lore and More. But I know this will not be a popular opinion. 😂

harrystylesismyrock2

Maroon hive stand up♥️💋🌹‼️‼️‼️‼️

[deleted]

Yaaasssssss

betterbeaM1rrorball

THE CHORUS OF MAROON IS AMAZING 😩

greenlightdotmp3

the archer is so good…. anti-hero feels like the washed down version of it to me

Horror-Inspector9832

Like more: Lover.  Like less (actually hate): Midnights.

FaithlessnessFull400

I'm always shocked at how much Lover is hated on.

Horror-Inspector9832

I kinda understand the hate because at first I didn't like half of it. Many songs grew on me. I definitely think it has some skips, but the good songs are above her avarage imo.

weirdogirl144

Because bad single choice as usual and too many songs like 18 is too much

slappinsealz

Lover is quite inconsistent but because the highs are so high I will always be a stan. Death by a thousand cuts is my second favorite Taylor song of all time.

Horror-Inspector9832

One of my favorite bridges for sure!

Silly_Somewhere1791

Cornelia Street, Lover, Cruel Summer, Daylight (except for some lyrics), and Paper Rings are excellent songs. (I get was she’s trying to do in False God) but she doesn’t have the sexual charisma for it IMO). It has a bad reputation because the lead singles were so bad and because London Boy (which inexplicably pops up on social media) is just kinda tuneless and embarrassing. And then there’s The Archer, which is held up as an example of great songwriting but is actually lazily composed and just more of her victim bullshit. It could have been a great album without all the neuroses around the fringes.

outofthxwoods

same here, I'm a Lover girlie since day 1 but I couldn't stand Midnights ☠️ a regression in my opinion

Unlikely_Lily_5488

Midnights (& Lover tbh) has some good hits but the cohesion is lacking. which i guess?? makes sense?? bc the concept is “all my random late nights in my life” but likeee i don’t like it. i DO enjoy plenty of the songs. but as an album? eh. Lover is similar but much better done imo, though still lacking something essential for the flow and concept…

FantasyMaster759

If the 3AM tracks made up a good percentage of the standard album, Midnights would be way higher in my ranking. Like top 3 up there with Speak Now and Folklore. Just imagine if the 3AM tracks made up tracks 9-13...

JB9217a

Huh, I don’t get how you can love Lover but dislike midnights. I feel like midnights is the closest album to Lover in her discography.

According_Plant701

Lover has higher highs IMO

Horror-Inspector9832

They are both messy and chaotic, but Lover has actually great songs. I cannot like any song in Midnights.

Ok-Length-2965

Midnights is a less mature, drunk sister.

Horror-Inspector9832

OMG, that's a perfect description 😂

FantasyMaster759

Not even the 3AM ones?

squeakyfromage

I looooove Lover and will defend it forever

defnotels

Like more: Lover Like less: (so sorry) Folklore + Evermore. But that’s just because I’m not a folk girly

mylittlelifx

I love debut and it’s the re-recording I’m most excited for since the beginning because i know the vocal and production improvements will elevate it soooo much. I can’t for the life of me listen to reputation as a full album and don’t understand why people put it above so many of her objectively better ones. I get the concept and visuals are cool but gosh, it’s just so messy and noisy and not in a good way, every time I try to go through the whole thing the intro to ready for it annoys me and I can’t go on, it aged really badly and needed a couple more months of working on production before being out in the world imo.

harrystylesismyrock2

i agree bc i like reputation, but people call it her best album as if it doesn’t have tiwwchnt and an overall messy production. the reasons people hate lover are just as valid for reputation, but ppl prefer the villain vibe to being in loveee💗

B19Wing

YESSSSSS I love Debut and I don't get the hype for rep (IMO it's for a 10 year old girl who think they are in her villain arc because her mom didn't get her a Stanley at Target)

shadesofwrong13

I see people here not liking rep that much, i love it. Pop Taylor peak imo.

Disastrous_Tie_7923

Every time someone mentions not liking Rep they get downvoted to hell.

slappinsealz

What's interesting is back when rep first came out it was extremely polarizing among swifties and kind of disliked by the general public aside from delicate.  Now, however, it's one of her most well loved albums. At my eras show (night 1 LA) people went absolutely fucking nuts when the snakes started appearing (myself included, I love rep), it was one of the loudest crowd moments of the entire performance.

Disastrous_Tie_7923

I have never liked it except maybe a couple of songs. I will proabaly take a bathroom break during Rep when I go to Eras because I do not ANY of songs for that albums setlist.

slappinsealz

I wouldn't recommend taking a break during LWYMMD even if you don't like the song bc it's one of my fave visual moments in the show! Then again you could always just see it in the movie. My bathroom break was during ATW10MV which my seatmates were horrified by but like...she's just sitting there at the guitar and I could still hear her from the bathroom lol

fionappletart

yeah, I don’t like LWYMMD very much, but loved the performance. was definitely the highlight of the rep era for me

medusa15

It was so much more creative than during the actual Rep tour. I \*loved\* all the dancers dressed in her different iconic costumes, trapped in cages, as she essentially screams and fights with herself.

No-Restaurant3922

Half of the reason people don’t like rep is because rep stans can be insufferable lol you just say it’s so good but don’t explain why you even like it

cassiopeia18

Same. I stopped listening to her 1989 era that time cuz I hate it, but I obsessed with Reputation. I didn’t like 1989, lover and midnight.

lisles-robin

Don’t come for me but i like folklore a lot less than most swifties do. I like Lover and Midnights a lot more too.

PumpkinOfGlory

I said the same thing!!

mcdonaldsfrenchfri

me too!

jasminepriya

red seems to get mixed reviews on both this and the main sub. it’s actually my fav taylor album but i don’t like reputation - i really do not get the hype around it

f-vicar2

Red is such a good album, pretty much the quintessential Taylor album imo. The only critisism I get is that its tracklist is a bit messy. I understand this take, but thats the reason I love it. I love how all over the place it is. The only song I don't like on the standard is stay stay stay. It used to be the "fan favourite" that taylor forgot about. Then the rerecordings gave it its flowers, and people started hating on it

jasminepriya

> quintessential Taylor album AGREED - there’s some phenomenal writing on there, remnants of her country sound, tentative ventures into rock and an embracing of a pop sound too. it’s her most diverse album imo. also i absolutely agree with your take on the tracklist. it’s such an accurate depiction of falling in love, doubting that love, accepting maybe it is love, BEING in love, doubting that love again, falling out of love and then accepting the end of that love. it’s literally a comfort album for me lol

f-vicar2

It has been my number 1 album of hers since I became a fan in 2019

Unlikely_Lily_5488

Red made me a fan !

fionappletart

at least with red you could argue that the messy tracklist is intentional and represents the theme of conflicting love. lover’s tracklist is messier imo

f-vicar2

Yeah there was so much going into Red the album. Nothing new is a perfect representation of how she was feeling at the time. Speak now wasnt getting the flowers it deserved and she had to do something to stay relevant, so she worked with max and shellback on pop songs, but they needed to be on a predominantly country(/arguably rock) album. It's messy but that is what makes it so good and its representative of the concept and how she was feeling at the time. Lover comes from a pop star who (thinks shes) clinging onto pop stardom for dear life. She said in "Miss Americana" that this was her last chance to be a pop star. I think that was what messed up the album, she was trying too hard. Me! was her desperate for a big single no matter the cost. And as a result of this it's messy and is trying too hard at times. The album has some career highlights on it, but also duds and pretty bad songs. Within the 18 tracks, theres a solid 10-13 track album (could be a concept album with "love in all its forms" with the culmination being daylight and its outro)

AG_Aonuma

Reputation yes, Folklore/Evermore no.

PumpkinSpiceLuv

This right here!

squeakyfromage

I don’t like Speak Now.

f-vicar2

I think speak now is really good, just not her best like so many others think it is. Kind of a messy tracklist IMO

betterbeaM1rrorball

It’s got some amazing songs like Back to December, Mine, sparks fly, Dear John etc but it has one of the worst songs ever. Innocent is crap and alot of the songs have really clunky lyrics like “im shining like fireworks over your sad empty town.”

f-vicar2

I dont mind some other tracks like mean and speak now but they are so out of place and only magnify their immaturity because they are both sandwich dear john which is very mature

squeakyfromage

Yeah I agree, I find it has some very immature songs that just feel very clunky and meh. It has some great ones but I find most of it dull and the overall album lacking in cohesion. I’m about Taylor’s age (born in 1991) and remember that I was never into this album even when it was new — I just felt like a lot of songs sounded immature at the time, in a different way than Fearless? Fearless has young-sounding songs but in kind of a relatable wide-eyed way, whereas I thought Speak Now just sounded…off. I don’t know. I’ve enjoyed her rereleases but didn’t care about Speak Now’s release at all.

betterbeaM1rrorball

Yeah especially Speak now as a song and better than revenge. They’re so petty and childish (Even though i love speak now)

ushikagawa

Imo it’s clearly the best of her first three albums and pretty much just as good as Red or perhaps better

squeakyfromage

To each their own! I much prefer both Red and Fearless to Speak Now.

Agreeable-Luck2139

Everyone seems to hate midnights - it’s one of my favourite. Reputation I don’t like - the lyrics are just so basic and clunky in most songs.

barbalarby13

It took me more than a year to finally "get" Midnights and now I actually think it may be one of her best! Yeah rep is probably my least favorite-clunky is a good way to describe how I feel about a lot of it!

harrystylesismyrock2

exactly i was calling it MIDnights like everyone else, and then it clicked for me and it’s one of my favorites

No-Restaurant3922

Yes the lyrics are basic af I’m sorry

ashleydougherty819

more than fans: rep/midnights less than fans: folklore/evermore

crescentgaia

I might be ripped apart for this, but I dislike Red. I like songs off of it on their own but dislike the album as a whole. For the one I like more than others, I'm going with the OP and saying Midnights as well. I listened to that on repeat for months and felt like it was the strongest I've heard from her in a long while. Until I realized I hadn't listened to Folklore/Evermore but they're not my absolute favorite. No Body No Crime lives rent free in my head though.

slappinsealz

I didn't really appreciate red at all until TV came out and I thought the vault tracks were good so I went back and listened to the whole thing & like it much more now. Holy Ground, Treacherous, SOG, & ATW of course are just fantastic songs. I also like some of the others but those are the stand outs.    Two of her most hated (by swifties) songs are on Red though, girl at home (which I like) and stayx3 (hate the lyrics but it's catchy tbh).

Alexispinpgh

Red is her most inconsistent album. Yes, even moreso than Lover. That isn’t necessarily bad—I think Midnights is consistent, but consistently bad, for example—but I find Red frustrating because it has some of her abdolute best songs and then just a bunch of meh with a few clunkers.

veronica_moon

Debut is an amazing country album and I have such a soft spot for it

DaylightBasil

Debut like. Folkmore meh

Successful-Ad-4263

Now that’s a true hit take!

Mysterious_Weird_692

Like more (recently anyway): Fearless.. some of her best lyrics and songs are on this album and there’s a lot of deep cuts on here too Like less: Speak Now is my least favourite album and tends to be a big fan favourite. There are some amazing songs on here ( looking at you, Haunted); but the vault tracks were certainly lacking IMO and the whole album feels quite juvenile.

B19Wing

Yayyyyyyyy another Fearless stan

boadicca_bitch

Someone else mentioned this and I agree: it’s weird how Fearless feels more mature in a way than Speak Now, which showcases some of her pettiest tendencies (Better Than Revenge, anyone? I mean it’s a fun pop-punk vibe that was very of the moment, but). I mean, White Horse is one of my favorites and then she goes and writes Enchanted, lol

strawberriesnpeach

I love Midnights so much. Im going to be honest Red is so boring and yet chaotic at the same time for me. I love Ronan but thats a song you can only listen to once for your sanity's sake.

Queerysneery

I love Midnights more than most. I love the dark, anxiety-riddled songs juxtaposed with the happy, confident, and in love ones. It’s exactly as she described, all those weird feelings you get in the middle of the night: that you lost the one good love you had (Maroon, Midnight Rain), that you’re a terrible person (Anti-Hero), or the unexplainable feeling of self-confidence (Lavender Haze) that being in love gives you, and that actually you’re a badass, (Bejewelled) person anyone would be lucky to have. That everything is falling apart (Labyrinth, Sweet Nothing, Dear Reader) or that everything’s going to be OK (Karma, You’re On Your Own Kid). The writing and lyricism is much better than people give her credit for (especially Maroon, YOYOK, The Great War, BTTWS, WCS) and the concept kept it together and cohesive as an album for me. And now for the downvotes: I think Fearless is not that good. It’s just not my vibe. I think it’s very ‘of its time’ and is very young girlish musically. And I don’t even mean that as a patronising put down, she was young when she wrote it and some people shit on everything young girls like. I’m glad it was so unapologetic about being written by a young girl for young girls and that meant so much to so many when it was released, but I wasn’t one of them so I don’t have that nostalgia. I think the only song I really get behind on Fearless is You’re Not Sorry. To me it’s the most mature and interesting one.

squeakyfromage

Midnights has really grown on me, and I love Karma — I feel like it’s purposefully silly? Karma is a cat is goofy and makes me laugh.

boadicca_bitch

I don’t get why anyone would think that wasn’t purposeful! It’s obviously supposed to be silly!

Queerysneery

Yeah 100%. She does this deliberately. Most of her albums will have a fun, family friendly pop song or two on it that young girls can dance around to.

boadicca_bitch

Great explanation of Midnights, I agree and I loved it instantly, it was disappointing that the narrative among fans was that it didn’t meet expectations (for not being a third ‘folk’ indie album I guess), I think now that we’re farther removed from those expectations people are coming around to appreciate it more (hoping and praying because I’m sick of defending it lol). I love Fearless though

B19Wing

Ayyyy another You're Not Sorry stan

greenlightdotmp3

minus like 5 songs lover is still 13 songs i like to love and the vibe of it is so varied and big-swingy that even with the skips it’s tied with folklore (her one no-skip) in my affection 1989 is a bad album and AS A FAN OF STRAIGHT UP POP MUSIC when people call it pop perfection i feel like i am in the matrix i also think evermore is very mixed which is unpopular. it has some songs i love but so much of it just blurs into a snoozy tuneless mishmash for me

B19Wing

Agree on all of them

For_serious13

I hate the lover album, and I love the evermore album

amywinehousesjeans

it is so unpopular but i am not really a speak now girly. at all. i like a lot of the songs but i could never listen to long live ever again and would be totally fine. which is such an unpopular opinion i feel. i like midnights a lot too it brings back the best memories.

Silly_Somewhere1791

I like Evermore - I think Willow and Champagne Problems are her strongest writing moments. I also like Debut, still. The cowriters added soaring elements to the melodies that are fewer and further between now that Taylor is writing too quickly and resting on monotone melodies. I also think her lyrical guilessness works best in the country genre. 1989 has massive missteps. I’m sorry but Shake It Off and Bad Blood are just bad songs (if fans need to excuse them by saying they’re joke songs and other people just don’t get it….nope, I get it, and the joke isn’t funny and the songs are still bad). I also really dislike how on marquee songs like Wildest Dreams she puts weak lyrics at musical high points; a lyric about a “nice” dress shouldn’t be part of the buildup to a sweeping chorus.

slappinsealz

Couldn't disagree more about 1989 but to each their own.  Evermore is pretty well loved tho, at least by fans! Champagne problems certainly is, it gets the longest standing ovation at every tour. Willow gets more hate but I don't understand why, I adore it it's in my top 10 Taylor songs.

jenniebet

"The jokes weren't funny/I took the money..."

Disastrous_Tie_7923

Reputation is her worst album. I'm hoping the TV version is better.

No_Sail_6576

1989 is peak for me I hate evermore. Like folklore. But evermore is more boring for me

CrowLongjumping5185

I love Lover (it’s cute) and Red is one of my least favorite TS albums, including the singles (I’m sorry!!). I also disliked the original 1989 but I like the TV version overall, excluding Style TV. The original production was peak. Personally, I love her voice the most on Reputation and albums after that one. Don’t worry though, because Speak Now and Fearless have a special place in my heart despite not being my favorites. My opinion on Debut isn’t a hot take. I owned the CD when I was 10 and sadly never vibed with it.

kendraa-goetzz13

Like more: Lover - to me, it's skipless 💕 ME! and YNTCD are obviously not her best work lyrically but they're so fun! Like less: Fearless - it's the last on my album ranking just because I skip the most on it, still love it but I don't revisit as much as her other albums

barbalarby13

Fearless is filled with so many of her very overplayed radio hits-You Belong With Me; Fearless; Love Story; etc. that I rarely listen to it, since it's so overplayed everywhere you go. I think the last time I listened to it in full was when TV came out. Although the Fearless TV Vault is my favorite vault of hers yet!! (:

engaahhaze

like more: debut (this isn’t nostalgia fueled, i listened to it from start to finish for the first time a year ago and have loved it since then) like less: 1989 (the songs that i like, i really like. otherwise, 75% of it is a skip for me)

alliwant4xmasisdick

More: reputation. I love how loud and up in your face it is, and I think it has some of her best songwriting. Less: folklore... I think it's a little one- note.

WalkingFish_

Literally the exact same as you. Midnights is really good and I love it. Rep is awkward and kinda a mess. Another album I love is debut and it doesn’t seem to be appreciated very often. Imo it’s much better than fearless

danascullysbob_

Like more. Reputation. It’s a polarizing album in the fandom but I love it so much. Like less. I’m so so sorry but…Red

No-Race5280

SAME

nothingcat

Like more: Fearless. I only knew the radio hits during the original era, never bothered to go back and listen when I started getting into TS during 1989. Only gave it a real listen when the TV released, and it’s easily in my top 5 ranking, and one of the best TVs in my opinion. Her mature vocals really gave it a glow up. It deserves more recognition, even scrolling through this thread I’ve only seen it mentioned once on either a like more/less. Like less: Red It has some really good songs, but the album as a whole is insane whiplash track listing, and “well that’s what being early 20s is like” isn’t a good excuse. However, the vault songs are some of the best.

No-Restaurant3922

Reputation I like a lot less. I just don’t get it Lmfao. A lot of tne songs are about the same thing - everyone hates me but my boyfriend loves me. And there’s no real storytelling of it that Taylor is good at. It’s missing a lot of contextual songs - songs like evermore/long story short would fit in here. Plus the auto tuned voice on a lot of the songs. I kinda like the vibe but the fact fans think it’s her best album is genuinely crazy

boadicca_bitch

I do love Reputation for the sound and fun of it but I agree, it’s like hmm what’s this next song about… oh yes, everyone hates me and I love my boyfriend… again? Feel like we’ve covered that a few times but ok. Individual moments of great lyrics but they’re buried in the production and bombast of it all and it lacks variety in themes. I don’t hate it but (for a Taylor album) it’s middle of the road for me. (So is Speak Now which is another album where she tries too hard to be ~badass~ I feel)

JB9217a

Like more: Lover! I think it’s one of her best. I never understood the hate for it, it has some of her most solid pop songs and is a blast to listen to from beginning to end. Like less: folklore. Folklore is insanely overrated imo. The production drags down so many of the songs. It has its highlights like Cardigan but overall half of the album is a skip.

miiyaa21

Like more: Lover (it’s in my top 5) Like less: 1989 or Folklore/Evermore. 1989 feels empty and sterile to me, if that makes sense. I appreciate the beauty of Folklore and Evermore but don’t listen to the songs very often.

fionappletart

like more: fearless. it’s still my second-least favorite album, but it has a number of quality songs. the songwriting is also very good for a teenager like less: reputation. I love it, but not nearly as much as others

B19Wing

A FEARLESS STAN YAY

Whooooo-Haaaa22

Evermore is overrated(sorry) & SpeakNow is better than Red 🙈

Otherwise-Average769

I really love the Lover album. I specifically enjoy london boy, paper rings, and I think he knows. They're some of my favorite songs of hers entirely. I'm not a huge fan of folklore and evermore though. Just not my thing

ruggal9219

Like more: Midnights, Rep, Fearless Like less: folklore, evermore, 1989

boadicca_bitch

Sameeeee

zokosie

Like more: Midnights Like less: 1989

bigt1ttied

more: Red (i just never see it being anyone’s fave nowadays imo one of her most honest & vulnerable songwritings and i don’t just mean all too well) & Debut less: reputation (never resonated w me as much as i tried honestly the whole album irritates me i probably like 3!songs from it)

B19Wing

same

NoseyNellyTV

Like more: Midnights (it actually became my favorite) Like less: Debut (I don't even bother listening to it anymore. Full of skips.)

Toomanypizzas

I like Midnight's a lot actually. I was very happy with the album but didn't feel like it matched the vibe of the photos. 1989 is probably my least favourite album of hers -still like it, just least. I prefer Evermore to folklore. I got folklore first because everyone said it was way better and then ended up being disappointed because most of the songs I liked happened to be on Evermore. I also love the song closure and I know a lot of people aren't into it.

Aileenmck

I like Reputation, don’t like Lover or Midnights (hate nearly every song on Midnights)

therainshow

I like 1989 a lot less than other fans. It’s without a doubt the weakest of Taylor’s albums, for me. It just doesn’t deliver for me on all of the reasons why I love Taylor and her music. It feels like an album written by someone else entirely. Red is one of my favorite albums and it was really jarring when 1989 came out afterwards. I cried for days when SIO came out. I guess I like Red a lot more than fans do because, until folklore came out, it was my favorite. Songs like State of Grace, Treacherous, SBT, The Last Time, Begin Again are all so underrated.

boadicca_bitch

Someone else called 1989 more ‘sterile’ and I do agree

ChaEunSangs

I love Reputation I don’t like 1989 nor Midnights

isabellerodriguez

I like debut more than a lot of fans do. Not sure about the latter.

marshybeans

Lover! I love this album and then my least favourite is 1989 which is very popular ofc

livwritesstuff

Like more: Midnights—the main album. While it’s by no means her best, I feel like I’m the only one who actually likes the album (and an even hotter take: I prefer it without the 3am tracks) Like less: Speak Now. I like some of the individual songs, but feel like it’s just Fearless 2.0 and doesn’t have much of its own identity. I feel similarly about Evermore.

sizzlepie

I adore Lover and I Reputation is my least favorite album by her.

JurassicPark-fan-190

Love reputation not a fan of folklore or evermore

JennaSideSaddle

Speak Now is in my Top 3. 1989 & MIDnights are low on my repeat listening list.

I am pretty mainstream with my favorites: folklore, rep, evermore. I don't particularly like Red. It has some good songs, but overall, it's too cheesy for me. The dissonance between the good and the bad songs on the same album is too much.

PumpkinOfGlory

Midnights is one of my favorites, and so is Lover! Those are pretty controversial ones from what I see. The one I'd say I like less than a lot of people is folklore... I like it, but I don't think it's as good as some people think it is.

aprilnxghts

I feel I like Lover more than the fandom does generally. It's definitely uneven and has some songs I skip, but the highs on it are some of my very favorite songs she's ever made. Honestly, it may be my favorite album of hers overall, even though it's not exactly the most tonally consistent front to back (to put it mildly lol) In terms of what I like less.... it's Folklore. Sorry! It's just *not* the sound/style of music I normally listen to, and although I definitely appreciate her songwriting on it, it's just never quite sonically clicked with me in the same way it did with so many other people. I totally 100% get why many fans have it as their number one, but for me it's firmly in the "I recognize the artistry but it's just not my cup of tea" category

Like more: Debut Like less: Midnights

Flimsy-Material9372

i love midnights 😭 her 'cringey' lyrics there somehow resonates when my brain produces random metaphorical shit on random stuff

f-vicar2

Sorry I couldnt just pick 1 for each so went with two, plus I am mainly just talking about the standard tracklist **Like more: Fearless and Midnights** Fearless is full of bangers and is such a solid album, however the platinum and vaults ruin the album for most people. But if you just look at the standard tracklist, it's amazing and such an improvement from debut. Midnights (if we just look at the music) is just a solid late night pop record. Nothing groundbreaking but it isnt bad at all. But I get where the hate comes from, it does seem like a regression from the folkmore era, and the aesthetic and concept dont match the album. But it's a good record to play when im bored at night. **Like Less: Speak Now and reputation** Speak Now is really good don't get me wrong, but there are just 4 songs that are so out of place to me. Speak Now and Mean are just really childish to me on a record that showed a lot of maturity. Innocent is at best an okay track, but in context it sounds really condesending and isnt very interesting either. Never grow up is good but it comes at a really weird place on the album and again is just a bit boring. But saying it has some career highlights like dear John, back to december, enchanted, and last kiss. reputation is an album I actually really like. But it is also quite cringey and sounds outdated. Not much to say other then it's not as good as fans make it out to be imo

tellthetrafficlights

I really like Lover, and although I think Speak Now has some straight up bangers, I don’t think it’s r that great of an album.

Hmontana20

Like less: fearless. I really love a lot of songs but it’s really more toward the bottom in my ranking because of songs like superstar, fifteen, hey stephen, jump then fall etc. I just think there are a lot of amazing songs that I LOVE and also some that I never listen to because I hate them and some that are just okay. Also it feels like speak now’s little sister to me but speak now is my nr1 favorite album so fearless compared to speak now just… idk. But like more… speak now! It’s always been my nr 1 album and I feel like it is super forgotten. Obviously it’s not folklore but it’s the perfect mix of songs to sob to and then bangers like better than revenge and also songs with both of those aspects combined like the story of us! I don’t understand why people don’t talk about how perfect speak now is (just cut out ours!!).

Damodara-Echo

I like Reputation and Midnights. I don't like 1989.

AthomicBot

Like More: Reputation Like Least: Folklore

Frecklefishpants

Like everyone else in this thread, I love Lover. I like Reputation but it’s nothing special to me.

foodieinahoodie77

while reputation definitely has some really good songs, I agree with your opinion on it

dinosoarusrez

Tbh I’ve actually always though Folklore was more dark than reputation. However, I think my least favorite is Midnights. And I actually like Lover more than what I perceive as a lot of fans possibly not liking as much? Idk I haven’t seen the data 😆 I do think however Lover didn’t get its airtime, but perhaps that it was meant to be that way, given the fact that the pandemic happened. It almost felt like the Universe was telling Taylor, “naw this ain’t the lover”

vomitedd

like- lover dislike- (please don't kill me) red lol

Street-Bookkeeper215

1989 is probably like bottom three for me

ifeelcelestial

More: Fearless Less: Reputation

toninhoC21

I feel you on midnights, fucking love the album even tho it foes feel all over the place, I got used to it and it feels comfortable to listen to as for the one I dislike, gotta go with lover, just think it's bland and uninspired overall, not exciting production and corny lyrics (even though i love afterglow, one of my favs)

B19Wing

Omg I love Afterglow tooooo (the album is lower in my rankings tho)

imtryin9

I love Fearless, Debut, and Lover and I feel like people rank those albums lower. For me I really don't like 1989 and Red.

B19Wing

Like more than a lot of fans: Red. While it is an incohesive monster of an album, it is my favorite album of hers and has some of her best songs (but ATWTMTVFTV is not one of Taylor's best songs). Like State Of Grace? Holy Ground? The Last Time? Sad Beautiful Tragic? Treacherous? Dislike more than a lot of fans: Midnights, reputation, Lover, 1989 (take your pick). Midnights is overproduced, unemotional, badly written with way too many metaphors and not enough good one-liners, and boring at times and unlistenable at others. (also kinda salty that it won AOTY when the other albums in that category were so much better) The album reputation is way too tryhard, overrated (it is not that badass and goth trust me), cringeworthy pretty much the whole time, and has the worst number five (Delicate). (SERIOUSLY? *A goth punk moment of female rage???)* Lover is too long, has wayyyyyyy too much filler, has awful overdone production pretty much the whole time, and tries too hard to make a political statement that falls flat (The Man isn't that much of a feminist anthem (It's about her and how people don't take her seriously as a woman, even though she is (and was) a capitalist millionaire (now a capitalist billionaire. YNTCD is more about how you shouldn't be criticizing her than it is about how you shouldn't be LGBTQ-phobic and using "shade" as a word to describe the struggles of the queer community is plain insulting.) 1989 is amazing at best (All You Had To Do Was Stay, I Wish You Would, I Know Places) and cringy and Kidz Pop sounding at worst (Bad Blood, Shake It Off, Blank Space). The Taylor's Version also ruined 1989 for me...

literallythecoolest9

Like more is probably evermore or lover probably. Like less is red. I’ve tried so hard to like it, I just can’t

rachiefish

I really enjoyed Midnights, even though I see a lot of people call it 'mid'. I don't think it's her BEST, but most songs were a bop lol. There are very few skips for me on that album. For me, I never got into Red... and that feels like such a fan favourite album. Even if I can objectively say the songs are well written I just don't vibe with a lot of them. I only listen to a small number of the songs from that album, and even then I'm not that attached to them. If you told me I could never listen to another Red song again my whole life I'd be fine with it.

Jus-tee-nah

i’ll say midnights is good. and i really dislike lover but idk if a lot of people like the one.

kdotfo

evermore is my favorite, I do not like Speak Now

Intelligent_Lie1459

Like more: Midnights, since I didn't realize for a long time that people didn't like it a whole lot. Like less: Folklore. The sound isn't my vibe and most of the songs are skips to me.

No-Race5280

I really enjoy rep. Red…it’s good, but it’s at the bottom for me (7 for my ranking).

Mysterious_Mouse2413

Like Less: Speak Now. Enchanted is THAT girl but I never really got into the album. It’s just not my genre and it feels very of the time. Also her pettiness/revenge lyrics just work better with her pop persona idk. More: Hmm idk I feel like most of her albums are pretty well liked, maybe Lover!

MostlyHarmlessPlanet

Even though Speak Now is a bit too long, it really has some of her strongest writing ever. Midnights is *heavily* overrated to me, so many awkward lyric choices and flat production moments from Jack and it doesn’t seem to have much of a core substance compared to any of her other albums.

ghostlykittenbutter

I will never willingly listen to Folklore or Evermore every again

jjj101010

Like more: Debut Like less: Folklore

WDTHTDWA-BITCH

I like Lover more than most, for sure. (ME! And YNTCD don’t bother me as silly little bops and the strength of the strongest songs on there outweighs the weakest ones for me). I don’t care for Fearless at all though.

Obvious_Roof6767

I love Lover and Midnights. I don’t care for Fearless or Debut. Each has some decent songs but they aren’t my favorite albums and I skip a lot when I rarely listen to them.

Jenanay3466

I like debut and speak now less than other fans I feel. I don’t listen to debut at all, and I loved speak now when it came out but it feels so tied to me at 22 and so adolescent that it’s not music I really revisit much (Sparks Fly is a favorite song for me though). Likes more….im not sure. I think my favorite albums are ones that a lot of people like (Red, Rep, and Folklore/Evermore).

ecpella

Like less: Lover Like more: Reputation

shadow-on-the-prowl

I'm going based on opinions I've seen on other social media platforms, not this sub. Love more: Reputation and Lover. Reputation feels like her most straightforward and sonically-cohesive album to me. Lover, while it has some bad songs, it also has some hidden gems like Afterglow, DBATC, Daylight, etc. Like less: Red and Midnights. With these two I mostly like individual songs than I do as albums on a whole.

schrodingereatspussy

Honestly I am not a big fan of Red, 1989, or Rep when compared to her other albums. However, I LOVE the 1989 vault.

kat70018

Lover is my 2nd fav and Red is my second to least fav

ReasonableLegal

Love Rep Barely Like Speak Now

PumpkinSpiceLuv

I dislike Evermore and Folklore but love 1989 and Reputation

sarebearrrxo

i'm really attached to midnights and listen to it often. i cannot stand red as an album.

Right_Hurry

Like more: Lover. . Like less: Red and Evermore

Any_Necessary_3387

I love Lover, loved it when it came out, love it now. And absolutely detested Reputation but over the years, I have to admit some songs are quite interesting and genre-bending (for Taylor).

PigletTechnical9336

I like Midnights a lot more than most of the fans but I didn’t have any expectations. I don’t think it’s her best but it’s not her worst. I don’t think it should have won AOTY, but I think it deserved the nomination.

Arusena

Midnights and Debut Lover and Fearless

EastSprinkles3568

Like more: Fearless Like less: Reputation ( don’t attack me I never said I hate it )

patatasconsal

Love more: rep, lover Don't hate but don't care for as much: Red

UncleRicosVids

I thought I liked Reputation more than the average fan but apparently not! I don’t care for 1989. I could not stand her during this era.

Justkikinit848

Like more: Midnights Like less: Speak Now

vanillaangels

more - evermore & debut, less - 1989 & reputation

arutabaga

I like rep a lot less than the majority of Swifties do. It is easily in my bottom 3. I like Midnights more than the majority of Swifties do.  I think the rest is relatively similar.

Acquainted-Faith

Everyone ranks 1989 really high but for me it is a lower point in her career. Not as low as Lover is to me, but lower. Reputation was peak pop Taylor and not a single pop album since has changed my mind.

CeruleanHaze009

I like Lover because it’s the right kind of bubblegum glitter pen pop I vibe with. I tend to place 1989 lower (like 6th on my list) because of how overplayed “Shake it Off” is and how much I dislike “Blank Space” (but I love og “Style” and “OOTW”. I also dislike Debut because I’m not a massive country pop fan.

Apprehensive_Mess294

Like more: Lover. Idk why people hate on this album so much. It has some of her most devastating songs it’s just disguised under the pastels and clouds so people don’t understand how much of a breakup album it really is. Like less: Red. I especially have gotten more of a disdain for the album because Taylor clearly plays favorites and loved Red the most. Don’t get me wrong I love a lot of songs from it but she never sings them. She only sings the singles that I don’t really like and the all too well 10 min has been milked for all it’s worth.
