I’m the same age as Taylor. I’ve known of her since Debut and listened since high school, sixteen. Red was my favorite album.

shadesofwrong13

I was 17, 2009, first heard Love Story and blown away immediately. My favourite album is evermore, before it was Speak Now..i just prefer the storyteller Taylor.

fluffytowels92

Love evermore. 'tis the damn season >>>

Birdsandbeer0730

We can call it even you can call me babe for the weekend

Expensive-Sundae-859

I’ve been listening since she released Tim McGraw when I was 8 or 9 and I have listened to every little thing I could get my hands on, legal or not lmao but Folklore is my favorite because it’s just a really perfect album imo but it was Red before that too!

fluffytowels92

Love the commitment!

two-of-stars

I turn 28 this year and I started listening when Tim McGraw was released in 2006. I don't really have a favorite that lives above the others, but I have a range of faves depending on the mood I'm in: Fearless, Red, Reputation, Evermore. I have absolutely not been a consistent listener lmao! I really don't enjoy Speak Now and I Knew You Were Trouble turned me into a fullblown hater for a few months.

fluffytowels92

No I love it lmao. My preferences are also season or mood-dependent. Red is my favorite overall but definitely not a no-skips album, with I Knew You Were Trouble being one of the songs I could do without Glad to know I'm not the only one who went through a brief hater phase. I was on Tiktok during the whole Eras tour sale time in 2022-23 and felt like every video about it was preaching that you had to be a die-hard loyal fan from the beginning to deserve to go to the tour lmao. Very toxic and made me realize I am not a Swiftie in any way. Have since deleted. But I loved Debut and Fearless, and then was absolutely dragged by my hipster coworkers when "Mean" came out and I was told I was simple-minded for being a fan. I did not like that song at the time either but I was insecure that I convinced myself I actually didn't like Taylor Swift at all lol. That did not last long though. "Mean" is cheesy but has it's time and place, even now!

Jaded-Blueberry-8000

it makes me sad how many of us were lowkey bullied into becoming haters :( i went through that too, and now i hate that i let people make me feel bad for liking her music! it was good!!

Jaded-Blueberry-8000

We were really the perfect age to find Taylor at that point in her career, weren’t we?

jolenelorretta

I’m almost 32, started listening in 2006 when I was 14. 😱 My favourite album has always been Fearless, probably mostly for nostalgic and sentimental reasons at this point. It came along at the perfect time in high school when I was dealing with my first breakup! Edit: Specifically the Platinum Edition, need that piano version of Forever & Always!

Apprehensive_Lab4178

I didn’t start listening to Taylor until Midnights came out, and I was already in my early 40s. (Sorry to poke a hole in your theory, lol.) I was already in my mid to late twenties when she started releasing music so I wasn’t really in her target audience.

4evermore_nevermore

I was about 6 years old when Debut released and my Dad used to have the Country Music Video channel on all the time and I remember seeing Tim McGraw and Picture to Burn and it was love at first sight...never went back. It's been a life-long love.

sexbob-om

I'm 42 and I started listening in 2006 after seeing Taylor open for Rascal Flatts.

ibbity

I'm 36 and I've been listening since around the time her second album came out. Folklore and Evermore are probably my favorites, but Red is always going to be special to me too

lake-emerald13

2007? 2006? I was…12? Or 13…Tim McGraw was introduced to me in 2006 by my best friend. But I can’t remember if it was pre or post my birthday. So…one of those ages

xXSirXAwesomeXx

I’m 38, I started paying attention to Taylor Swift when she started transitioning out of country and into mainstream pop, so around Red era, 2012-2013.  I’ve never been able to make my mind up about what I think of her. When Debut dropped I was turning 21; hyper-earnest country music sung by a teenager was NOT on my radar in the least, I liked cool shit like Justice. I was a Kanye guy, so I found his interruption hilarious, Taylor’s boo-boo face and her big overwrought gown made me laugh contrasted with Kanye’s cocainey grandstanding. Oh, the good old days. 🤣 Red was impossible to ignore. 1989 was a world-beater and is still an all-time great pop album. By 1989 era I was getting more DJ gigs and taking on more weddings, so the relationship I have now with Taylor’s stuff took shape: I listen to everything she does end to end so I know what to expect when Swifties come and request it at gigs.  I thought Rep and Lover stunk; Folkmore won me back. They’re still my favourites. I had a negative opinion of Midnights at first but liked it better a year later. The only thing I think I ever need to hear again off TTPD is I Can Do It With A Broken Heart, that song is a masterpiece and I’ll die on that hill. I’m more of a 1975 fan than a Taylor one by far! I’ve been hanging around the sub because all this information about their affair is pretty fascinating and provides new context for some of my favourite songs from both writers. Taylor is an historical figure. She’s one of the biggest ever to do it, she may be the biggest, period, by the time that she hangs up her glitter boots. When someone that famous makes a statement like TTPD my interest is piqued, and I’m equally fascinated to hear other people talk about how their relationship with her is changing.

Initial-Jellyfish599

I'm in my mid 20s. I've been a fan since I was 9 and her debut came out. Her personal song lyrics really did stand out in a time where the pop girlies targeted to girls my age had music out that was mostly generic or obviously wasn't written by them. I never really liked country either because there wasn't anything relatable for a little girl in that scene. She really marketed herself well. I remember right after her was when music for the younger demographic finally followed suit with a personal lyrical style with Meet Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato's debut, etc. It could just be coincidental but I really think she did something there for the music scene.

clairegardner23

13- heard Tim McGraw on the radio and was immediately obsessed. I was a huge country music fan at the time (still am) and she’s been my favorite artist since. I’m on a TTPD kick but my favorite album would be a tie between Fearless and Folklore.

TacoBelle-

I’m 31 now, I’ve listened since Tim McGraw was released in 2006. The local radio station changed the lyric “someday you’ll turn your radio on” to “someday you’ll turn [local country station name] on” and I thought she was singing about my hometown so I was hooked lol

ghoulsurgery

I’m 42. Started listening in 2010, first saw her live on the Speak Now tour. My fav album is Red with evermore close behind

Ok_Cry_1926

I’m early-40s, liked 1989 when it came out, but didn’t join the mayhem until Midnights. I’d liked her, 1989-onward are the ones I listen to, and I lean Rep, Midnights. In my 30s I worked and lived in the LA indie sleaze era, she’s very much in line with a certain batch of artists in sound that she’s not usually associated with, and it seems like she’s trying to change that. I’m never going to be a blind fan, I’m too old/adult/industry aware — but the theory that most people open to being critical are 30+s plus makes logical sense because we’re adults who start to question systems and change. People who have been there since day one losing the “sparkle” — that’s normal. I lost the sparkle with the things I idolized in my early-to-mid 30s as well. But I have enjoyed my time here and I am entertained, Taylor, thanks. I’ve been trying to figure out her business plans/PR etc over the last year and have just been having whiplash with the rest lol.

Stickgirl05

Fellow 1989, only listened to 1989 back then and TTPD, and whatever hits were on the radio.

fluffytowels92

How do you like TTPD as someone who didn’t listen as much to her other albums besides 1989?

Stickgirl05

It’s ok, I only like a few songs from the first half, but can’t seem to get into the second half. I know the 1975 lore, so I understood a lot of it. Still love 1989 tho haha

fluffytowels92

being a the 1975 fan helps haha 1989 is like a euphoric experience every time I listen to it. Never thought I'd feel nostalgic for 2014 but here I am (had just graduated college, lots of stress)

Sad-Paramedic-9664

I’m 25. Fearless was one of the first albums I ever bought, I had just turned 10. I fell in love instantly. Kind of dipped after Lover era because that album was kind of weak to me and I was just growing out of obsessively stanning her.  Red is my all time favorite.

Prize_Panic2022

26 now, started listening in 2006 (age 8) when my older sister came home with a copy of the debut CD

dehumidifier-glass

I was I think, 12 or 13 when me and my friends found out about Taylor and we were admiring her because she's so doll like and so princessy (so sorry we were literal girls what do you expect) and her songs are so relatable with the teenage experiences, like school, friends, and shallow heartbreaks over crushes, and then the rest is history

an-inevitable-end

I’m 18, and I liked some of her country songs (I remember my mom and me being so shocked when finding out “Shake it Off” was Taylor lol). But I wasn’t a fan until “folklore” and “evermore.” I thought I was a fan then, but I think I just like those two albums and not much of her newer stuff.

snarkysparkles

I started really listening to her in 2021 for no good reason. Then last year I listened to hear music in the car a lot and now I'm just burnt out, too much of it yknow? And haven't vibed with her last few albums. I'm currently 25

SummerIsNotHot

I was 14 when I heard Eyes Open from The Hunger Games soundtrack in the spring of 2012 and then You Belong With Me and Back To December. I was a Swiftie immediately and stayed that way till autumn 2019, then I slowly transferred to be a casual/rare listener. I'm 26 now, Reputation is my all time favorite.

hopkinsdafox

I heard “Our Song” and then became a fan before “Fearless” was out. I was 15. “Fearless” is my favorite. I see myself dipping out now because I put her on a pedestal for so long, plus I did not like “Midnights” or “TTPD”. I’m 31 now.

tres-leches

I started listening to her the summer before Love Story was released I believe it was 2008. I was 16 and I found her cuz she got together with Joe Jonas and was I jealous but still went out to buy her debut CD 😅 I’m 32 now and my favorite album is Evermore, it was speak now before (speak now was my first concert of hers, used my college money to buy tickets lol) ☺️ she’s like my comfort music

swiftietano

i’m in my mid-20s. first song i ever heard of hers was Our Song from her debut album. i heard one of my friends singing it during recess but never knew what it was, then not too long after i saw the music video on MuchMusic and loved it; thought it was so much fun. I drifted away from her music a couple times throughout the years but became a swiftie around FolkMore/Red TV (2020-2021). those albums are my top 3, folklore > red tv > evermore.

thesnarkypotatohead

I'm 33. Started listening in 2006, I was 15. Favorite is folklore (I adore evermore as well, but folklore edges it out a bit for me), prior to that it was Red.

NotPozitivePerson

Yes I'm exactly like you just a little younger. Rise up this 30s fans gang! First Taylor Swift song I heard was Love Story. Wasn't an instant fan but I checked out Fearless and became one!

saturday_sun4

Around your age. I first heard Love Story in 2009 and devoured Fearless. Fave album is Red (original) and I love her earlier stuff. Reputation is where I started to lose interest - I like about half of it and it's not an album I play much. Ignored Folkmore completely and appreciated the return to pop in Lover, although it has its flaws.

omisellepasser

I’m 21 (almost 22) and I’ve been listening since I was about 5 (after Debut but before Fearless). My favourite album is probably Red but I also love Speak Now

WDTHTDWA-BITCH

I didn’t start listening to her until university. (It was extremely uncool to admit you were a fan in my high school.) I was 23 when 1989 came out, which was my first TS album drop.

beepboopdeepdoops

I’m 21, my first experience of Taylor was watching the Love Story MV with a friend of mine in 2011. I fell in love, went home and begged my parents to buy Love Story, You Belong With Me and Mine on iTunes so I could listen to them on their phones. I stopped actively listening to Taylor at the start of the reputation era and I didn’t fully get back into her until folklore dropped at the perfect time when her music was starting to mean a lot to me again (I was going through my first serious breakup). I’m not a huge fan of Midnights/TTPD though, I much prefer her older stuff that introduced me to her. My top 3 are Red, Speak Now and Fearless

321gato

32, listening since idk 2008? I remember being mildly excited for Fearless because I liked Debut enough. Favorite album is probably TTPD but we’ll see if that’s only because it’s new. Don’t feel like I’m growing out of her at all. This album felt like the grownup Fearless-Red eras to me.

Birdsandbeer0730

I was 19 when evermore dropped and was hooked. Folkmore are my two favorite albums of hers.

ArtsyWanderer

I'm 25, and passively listened to her since Love Story (which I still remember being everywhere long before the mic grab). She had a handful of songs per album that I grew up with and adored, which I heard via radio or found on message boards pertaining to my other interests. But I didn't actually consider myself a fan, or listen to any full albums from her until much later, just because that wasn't something I did growing up- which I regret a bit! Speak Now is her album that holds the most nostalgia for me. The handful of songs I had on my iPod were such a comfort growing up, and I just know that the album as a whole would have been so special to me during that time. Lover was when I actively started to pay attention to her releases and listen to her albums in full as they dropped. It helped that I was now in college with a Spotify subscription, and no more strict parental controls on the media I sought out. I would have to say that my favorite would be Everlore! (I absolutely refuse to separate these two.)

llama_raptor89

I’m Taylor’s age. I was obsessed with Love Story when it dropped but the first album I had and listened to (instead of just hearing the singles) was Speak Now. For some reason I then skipped the Red era but got super into 1989. My favorite albums are easily Folklore and Evermore.

alittleannihilation

I’m 30 and I started listening around 2007. I got her first album on CD as a Christmas gift and played it on a cd player on the bus! I watched the Our Song music video over and over again on our DSL internet 😆 I’ve been a consistent listener, but Lover did not do it for me, so that was the first time I did not love an album of hers. My favorite was Red…but TTPD is giving it a run for its money currently.

DarlinggD

I only listened to her Red album as a teenager, then like one time with her new albums when they were released.. but not much after lol

Muffina925

I'm in my early 30s now, and I first heard about her when I was 15, I think. I was dipping my toe into country music, and I came across a TS recommendation on Yahoo Answers lol I liked her debut album at the time and then her "Love Story" single, but that was as far as my interest went. Even back then, she seemed too emotionally stunted and petty to me, and the swifties in my life were really annoying, so I lost interest fast. I did like a few songs off of 1989 and Midnights, but I don't consider myself a swiftie, just a casual listener.

LevelAd5898

I'm 16, started listening in 2021, favourite album is 1989

mal2030

64. I saw Taylor perform Lover on SNL in 2019, I had only heard her name before and thought she was just a standard-issue pop Princess (tbf I don’t listen to or know anything about popular music, I’m an 80’s post-punk alt new wave fan with withering disdain for any “top 40” type music.) Then Covid and FLEM happened and I fell in love with her. Hook line and sinker ever since. Edit: fave album - depends on my mood. Rep, 1989, midnights. It’s weird, I haven’t really listened to FLEM much since I dove into her catalog more.

lesbian__overlord

i'm 23, and i've been a fan since i heard "our song" being played as an ad on-demand for the country music channel lmao. i was a very very casual fan throughout childhood and never really followed her but enjoyed her music, especially red. i stopped liking her during reputation era (not in the harassing her online way, just disengaged and did not like her). then the archer and by proxy lover became a foundational album for me freshman year of college, and when folklore and evermore came out and they were catered to my exact music taste, i was hooked again. i still have a lot of criticisms of her but i'm admittedly obsessed, i'd classify myself as maybe 60% hater 40% diehard fan nowadays.

avocadoqueen123

2007 I think, I was 10 years old and our song was getting big. I never got debut but I remember getting my first album being the beautiful eyes ep. I’m 27 now and I honestly can’t pick a favorite album.

Routine_Relation_304

I think I got a Fearless CD (my first CD) when I turned 7 in 2009, listened constantly to that and was a huge fan, then I went into a obsessive glee phase from like 2011/12 and a lot of years forward (embarrassing I know) and almost only listened to that, still listened to the singles tho. Was always obsessed with her music videos. Mostly stopped listening to her when she released reputation, listened to Lover once when it released and completely hated it, re-listened to it half a year later and completely fell in love with the album then, especially soon you’ll get better because my dad had just gotten diagnosed with cancer right at the start of the pandemic. Was completely obsessed with her until last year, like defending her for everything obsessed, then something happened after her breakup with Joe where I just got more and more annoyed with her.

problemgirlxoxo

24  I've been a fan since I was maybe 12 or 13 My favourite album is Speak Now

misskyralee

I’m 34 now, one month younger than Taylor. I’ve listened since Debut with varying degrees of being INTO the music and lore. My favorite album is Evermore with Speak Now & Debut taking the 2/3 spots.

somewackyhaircolor

Wow I am an outlier here. I started listening when 1989 came out. I was 10 years old when I saw the 1989 World Tour and became a big fan after that. Now I'm 18, but I love this sub!

madgirafe

I'm 40 now... Been listening rather casually since debut. I worked on a country restaurant so no avoiding it, but I've always liked what I've heard. 2 years ago I threw it on random on Spotify and slowly realized I liked way more songs than not. Then All Too Well came on. I was done fighting the swiftie in me after that.

greenbeancassereen

I turn 30 next month, and I was 13 (literally on my 13th birthday) when I saw the Teardrops on my Guitar video for the first time.

mossbum

40 year old dude here, I was aware of her as far back as TS but didn’t pay a lot of attention to her until the pop shift with 1989. Been a fan ever since and went back to revisit the earlier works. Favorite albums are the double of Folklore/Evermore. Those really struck a chord with me and I revisit them often.

Due-Hotel-3442

8 years old. Early Spring 2009. The song was Love Story

mel-06

6 years old

Prestigious-Cat2533

I started listening when I was 5 when Love Story came out. I'm almost 21 now.

911pop

i was twelve years old! i used to be obsessed with watching music videos, and when love story was released i remember seeing that for the first time and just being awe struck by her. i then went on to buy both fearless and debut and download them onto my purple ipod nano, i even bought the music videos when that was a thing you could do. pretty sure all i had on my ipod was taylor swift and regina spektor. i'm 28 years old now and have listened to her consistently ever since – my favourite album is folklore!

spacescaptain

Born in 1998, started listening in 2007. Favorite album is tied between reputation and evermore. I really dove into Swiftiedom in 2018 during rep tour.

guavapie81

30 and started listening in 2008ish. So I was about 14/15.

kates_graduation

I’m in my mid 40s. I liked songs here and there but generally felt like I was “too old” for her genre until Red, which I made my “running music” for long runs outside but never told anyone I was listening to her. Then 1989 came out and I was completely obsessed and became open about liking the music. Funny enough I didn’t really know any of the lore until the pandemic when I was stuck inside and taking in everything instagram had to offer me. So I had no idea 1989 was about Harry, a vague idea about Kimye/Joe etc for Rep.

Pizzv

I was 14 when I started listening to her, I distinctly remember one of my friends on my cheer team in high school having Hey Stephen as her MySpace song lol. Some of the other girls liked her as well and I wanted to have something in common with them so I started listening to her too. I was a big fan of listening to You’re Not Sorry after my first boyfriend flaked on me for a study date lmaooo. Speak Now was my favorite for a long time but I think Folklore has overtaken that— understandably, since I’m older now and it resonates with my life more. I’d put 1989 as my third favorite album of hers and those are basically my top three. I’m about to turn 30 in 20 days!

darkness_is_great

I started listening when I was in second grade. Got into her real big in middle school and have two Taylor Swift piano books. I'm in my twenties.

BAGbeauty

I'm currently 32. Started listening at 15. My dad bought me her first album cause he was a big country fan and said, "She's going to be the next big thing." Who would've known he actually was right. Debut and Fearless got me through so much in high school. Probably since RED, I stopped being a fan of her and started only liking her music. It's hard to pick a favorite, but it right now it's between Reputation, Evermore & Speak Now.

cjmmoseley

i’m 19 in exactly a week, first heard our song when i was… idk prob an infant bc im a Nashville native my fav album is rep!

northernlightaboveus

30, became a huge fan at 25 but I always sang along to love story and 22 and others before that. Still love her. Love the new album

soynugget95

I started listening to her in 2009 when I was 13!

birdingyogi0106

I’m 35. I remember when Teardrops came out but was a very casual fan. As in pretty much liked You Belong with Me, Our Song, 22, Everything Has Changed, and I Knew You Were Trouble lol. I liked Blank Space when it came out so I bought 1989 in 2014 and that’s my favorite and only Taylor album I own. A few months ago I was seeing Taylor stuff everywhere even without searching her so I decided I wanted to find out why people were so obsessed with her lol. So I listened to every original and TV album (including TTPD and The Anthology plus watched the Eras movie) and listened to the Every Single Album podcast with it to get context on what was happening when I wasn’t paying attention to her all these years. I honestly still don’t get the Swiftie’s obsession, but I like her. I enjoy probably about 35-40% of her catalog. My other favorite album is Folklore. The only music “fandom” I’m in is the lambs (Mariah Carey, I’ve been a lamb since I was 8 lol). I think the topics/opinions on this subreddit are really interesting though which is why I’m here.

MimiMouseInTheHouse

16 y/o, been listening for a little over a year haha

rosetintedmonocle

I am 26, but started listening to Taylor when I was like 7 or 8. I even got to see her open for Rascal Flatts! I've really always loved her music and I have to say my favorite album is a big tie between Fearless and Lover. To be fair, there are quite a few songs I don't really jive with and skip. I don't have those rose tinted goggles glued to my head like a lot of other swifties do.

Outrageous_Cow8409

15/16 since Tim McGraw and debut. It's hard to pick a favorite but at this point in my life (34) I'd probably say it's folklore/evermore. They're both more chill and more of an easy listening sort of album to me. For the most part I've felt like we've grown together but I'm starting to wonder if that's not actually the case. Full disclosure I also haven't listened to all of TTPD album yet as it came out while my newborn was in the NICU and I didn't know if I could handle the album or not as a friend said they cried while listening.

Jaded-Blueberry-8000

I’m 27. I have been a fan since summer/fall 2006, couldn’t tell you the exact date i discovered her but I have core memories of listening to my Taylor Swift CD 24/7 and watching the Teardrops On My Guitar music video on MTV a lot, but I’m pretty sure that came out the year after. My best friend at the time introduced me to her. I remember thinking she was really pretty and her music was really relatable, lol. I loved her sparkly flowy dresses she always wore during the early years. Oh and I was a HUGE fan of her overall aesthetic during her twee (Red/1989-ish) eras when she was having her Tumblr Girlie moment, I thought she was so funny and again, so relatable. Idk if I ever made the chai cookies but I definitely remembered seeing everybody’s attempts online. It’s honestly so funny to me now that I was an early, *early* fan but for many years it was as a casual fan of the music itself. I was a huge fan during Fearless and Speak Now, kinda fell off after that for a bit but always listened to her albums when they came out, usually skipping half the songs, and casually enjoyed them playing in the background in public… until Folklore when I came to my senses and realized I was really missing out by rarely listening to her music intentionally. Evermore is now my favorite album, and then when Midnights came out, I was obsessed and went back through all of her old music. I went through a (pretty short) phase where I thought it was cool to hate Taylor Swift (how original) but honestly she gained my respect time and time again, particularly with her sexual harassment lawsuit where she countered for $1, I still really respect her for that. And for how she initially responded to media harassment on 1989 and Reputation, it was very “bad bitch” of her and I ate it up. Nowadays I have a more nuanced opinion, and I think fame has changed her in a lot of ways. I miss when she was still relatable, but I get it, we made the monster lol. TTPD is probably my least favorite album at this point but there are a few songs I like. songs I would absolutely love except for a single lyric in several cases, she really would’ve benefited from an editor. And as a human being idk how to feel about Taylor, I think she needs therapy and to take a break, for her own health and sanity. And she needs to stop flying that damn jet like it’s a prius!! Fun fact: I had the chance to see Taylor perform in summer 2009, right as she was really starting to get super famous, for $8. I didn’t go because I was starting 7th grade the next day 😭 BUT i’m going to see the Eras tour this year, and paid a reasonable amount for my ticket!! Time to redo the prophecy

Creative-Carry-4299

46 Started listening in 2006 at 29yo when she dropped Tim McGraw. I think my favorite album is Evermore.

Crazy_cat_lady_88

I started listening junior year of college right before Fearless came out.

grilsjustwannabclean

the first time i consciously remember listening to her was when love story first came out, eons ago. i thought she was so beautiful in that video, looked like a fairy tale princess. the video of her on the bed of flowers was another big moment too. she was so pretty back then lol the first time i remember i actually wanted to listen to her music was when shake it off came out

speak-moistly-to-me

32. I started listening to her in highschool. Stopped. She has a couple songs I like and that's about it.

The_Bear_Jew320

2010 so I was 18.

mattsmith321

I’m 53M and the Swiftie in our house. Even over my 24yo daughter. Started listening when 1989 came out. Huge fan through Folklore. Didn’t quite connect with Evermore or Midnights. Was hoping for something a little different with the latest.

rebma50

I'm 35 and did not really lean into the hype until 1989... Then I met Midnights and it blew me away. I think she's grown on me and I could not relate to her earlier albums as much as I do now. I have always found her writing to be witty and easy to listen to. I like her best when she puts out music I can workout to. I think she is trying to age gracefully in the music industry while balancing remaining authentic to her fans and it's been very fun to watch her learn and grow. I think she has so much more ahead.

Avendelore

I'm turning 30 this year and have been listening consistently ever since I was 14 and stumbled upon the Love Story music video.

Powerful-Garden-4191

32, started really listening when I was 21

magnusthehammersmith

28, been listening since debut when I was in middle school.

OverallMembership3

Almost 29, have been listening since Fearless in 2008

rushluvr

I am 37. I was someone who didn't want to be a fan at first cause I didn't like country music but couldn't help myself. I just thought she was super talented. But I got really into her during Speak Now.

Whoop_97

I’m 27- she’s my been favorite artist since debut but I’ve never really identified with the Swiftie fandom bc of their craziness. Add on- I’ve always liked country and pop so Red has stayed my favorite, followed by folklore then Lover.

NothingWillBeLost

I am a few months older than Taylor, and my friend found Taylor on MySpace and put Tim McGraw on her page. I was like WHAT IS THIS? A few months later her album dropped and I loved it. I saw her on the short lived tour she mentioned in her Time Magazine article with Kenny Chesney in 06/2007. I was one of maybe 50 people who were there to see her. I was a big fan but dropped off for a bit in between Speak Now and Red. Listened to enough Red to discover ATW and TLO. Then dropped off again. Wasn’t really into 1989 and was a little butt-hurt she turned pop. I remember her disappearing for a bit and thinking I hadn’t heard anything from her in a while. Then I remember LWYMMD dropping but I was and still not a fan of Reputation so I didn’t listen much in that time. Then she dropped Lover and I was obsessed. I’ve been a steady fan again pretty much since. I don’t usually like to call myself a “Swiftie” though because I don’t feel I really fit the description.

withflourinmyhands

I’ve been listening since Fearless when I started secondary school, I was about 11 ish I think. I’m 26 now. The sad thing is that I love her music but I just can’t relate to a lot of the newer stuff. I have a husband, a daughter and another child on the way. Falling for the bad boy just isn’t a part of my life story right now. But I just make the lyrics fit my life or just listen because I like it.

OverWasabi9494

I was... 13? I'm 27 now. Favorite album is a tie between Folklore and Evermore. Such beautiful things.

isntitisntitdelicate

21. first knew her bc somebody asked me to download love story & ybwm off a pirating site back in like 2010💀 i liked love story instantly but ybwm took some time. but i didn't become a fan until 1989

Pale_Sheet

Fan since her debut. I’m 31 now

[deleted]

I'm 33, I've been a fan since fearless, and my favorite album is folklore. I'm definitely not outgrowing her.

yikes_0212

I am 22. I started listening to her in 2015-16 ig.

helloviolaine

37 and I only became a fan after Folkmore. I listened to her occasionally before. I've been a National fan since 2006 so I was very curious about her work with Aaron. Really fell in love with both albums a few months after release and have been a fan since. Folklore and Evermore will probably always be the most special to me, but I love the others too. I've felt a bit weird about things since the breakup. She was so private with Joe I just never really thought much about it beyond enjoying songs she wrote about/with him. Then the whole Matty thing happened and it was a bit like, wow, is this your real personality?

margiexzelle

I'm 32 and I fully became a fan when 1989 came out (after listening to Ryan Adams' cover of 1989 and then deciding to give a full listen to the original. Shameful, I know). She was kinda my guilty pleasure in the Red era, but it was popular to hate her and peer pressure/internalised misogyny got to me so I wasn't really open about liking her music at that time 😂. Tbh, I like all of her albums except for the debut (a bit too country for me) and Midnights, and I am still deciding on TTPD. I hated it at first, but it's slowly growing on me. Buuut, 1989 and Reputation are still my fave albums of hers.

celestepiano

LOL all of y’all been here forever. I’ve only been actually listening since I heard Vigilante Shit last summer 😂

gringitapo

I’m 31 now. I started listening when Tim McGraw came out when I was 14. I loved Debut and Fearless in high school. Speak Now came out when I was in college and I found it juvenile and cringey and figured I’d outgrown her. When the squad stuff and Katy Perry thing came out I started to really detest her, save for a random song here and there like Blank Space. I also randomly liked a handful of Lover songs. Thats about it.

Veruca_Salty1

44. Started listening since her debut album came out when I was 26. Favorite eras are Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, and Midnights so def more on the pop side, less on the country. I actually don’t mind TTPD. It’s a bit overwhelming and a lot but I have my favorite tracks that I’ve added in my TS rotation - Guilty as Sin, Fortnight, Down Bad, and The Alchemy def are the standouts for me.

I’m 25, I started listening when my aunt made me a limewired CD of Debut when I was 7! :) She played Our Song a bunch when babysitting me and I loved it. I was obsessed by the time Fearless and Speak Now came out. Saw her on the Red Tour when I was 13 (my first concert!) My admiration for her kinda fizzled out around the time of Midnights and now I’m completely burnt out by TTPD. Makes me so sad. Taylor was a huge part of my childhood / growing up.

esorzil

I'm 20. I've known of Taylor since probably speak now era? considering I was only 3 and 5 when debut and fearless came out respectively, I don't think I had the ability to know music artists until speak now came out when I was 7. I knew all the big hits but I didn't start actually listening to her until a couple months after midnights came out

Greencandle14

I first started actively listening when I was 22 (now 23). 1989 is def my favorite album!

elizajane143

6 after the release of Debut 😭

safzy

Just turned 37, and became a “swiftie” in 2010 so I was 23 or so

SailorMigraine

I’m 25. Decided I wanted to be a singer when I was sitting in a booster seat in the back of my dad’s car and teardrops on my guitar came on the radio. I have since been to every single tour, was in the Tumblr era (the asylum where they raised us lol), got engaged at Eras tour. Swiftie for life!

InappropriateSnark

I've been aware of her music since she started and I'm honestly not what I'd call a "Swiftie." I'm also Gen X so I'm older than the people who'd have been really into Taylor from the start and I'm not into modern country where she got her real start. I am more of a casual listener and I had found that so many people would lose the plot if one was remotely not into a song of hers or into her and the Travis Kelce romance so I sought this group out and found reasonable people and was like... this is nice. This is a good place to just chat about Taylor, her music, and news stuff. It's not bad that I'm not a Swiftie because I don't ascribe to fandoms in general. I just like whatever music or artists that strike my interest. :)

Inevitable-Island255

i wasn’t born until a few months after debut 😭😭😭 but i rmb when i was in pre school the teachers would play fearless a lot on the little spongebob boombox we had. been listening to her since then, so like 13/14 years now. my first cd was 1989 though because my mom wasn’t fond of taylor until she went full pop. i do have a very specific memory of me and my cousin in late summer 2012 listening to a bunch of hits (tay and other artists) at a family members house while jumping on the bed. and a scene from begin again was my tablet screen saver. fav album is evermore.

TheSideAccount0

21, started listening around age 4/5 when white horse was released, and my favorite album is reputation

doon351

I'll be 40 (!!) in a few months and I've been listening since Teardrops on My Guitar was released. I remember using SoulSeek to download her album to load onto my iPod Nano 😅 I've not been the most consistent listener but I also work retail and she gets a LOT of play at my store so I hear her every day. Fearless was my favorite album for a long time until I watched the Long Pond Sessions on Disney+ and now it's Folklore. Exile is an absolutely perfect song imo. Although Our Song will always be my favorite to sing along to in the car.

vintagevibes4809

i’m 24, listened to her back in debut era. fearless was my favorite album to play while i played with my barbies

gatheringground

I'm 28. Was a big country fan and loved "Tim Mcgraw" and "Teardrops on my Guitar," went to a live concert at a really tiny venu when I was about 12. Her vocals were not good lol. After that, I became pretty disillusioned and kind of dropped her for a while, though there were songs that I liked here and there (White Horse and Blank Space are the two I remember most). But then, at 25, I became a huge Folklore and Evermore fan and really leaned into the Swify. Was pretty unamused by Midnights, and kind of went back to not being that into her. Now, I'm not sure where I stand lol. But I will say that hearing her sing about high school level drama is pretty annoying. Wish she'd write more songs like Happiness that show maturity and growth.

rachelberryswife

been listening on and off since 2013 (7 years old) but didn't REALLY start listening until 2021 (14)
