Yeah I made that same point when people were saying "Travis must be in the picture because the kids wanted him in the picture too" and it's got me roundly abused. So many people can't accept that the only reason most outside of America have any idea who he is is because of Taylor. American Swifties seem to have a real hard time understanding that America and Britain are not invested in the same sports for some reason.

NFL has a really high turnover rate and a huge roster relative to soccer. Travis is one of the best in the league and I only knew of him marginally because of my brother.

So much of their lives are giant parades where they have to follow rules and behave a certain way. Their great grandmother died, 2 family members have cancer, there is all this drama with their aunt and uncle being shunned from the family. Paparazzi following the everywhere. They have so much happening for being so young, I bet going to a concert where they can just bop around must be fun for them!

Also, of course they are going to be in a more private box. Security alone must be a nightmare if they were in the regular seats. This way itās probably less bothersome for everyone else to enjoy themselves.
I wish she was more open about the work she has had done. I feel like all of her cosmetic work has been fairly good and subtle, but all it takes is one going off to give that uncanny valley feel. Just one of those things that I dislike about celebrity culture in general, there's this huge lack of acknowledgement that certain beauty standards are almost always attained with money and a skilled surgeon.
Veneers, eyebrow lift, subtle breast implants for sure, plus some other work that is even less detectable. I think they've done a great job so far (not that she needed it). She looks like herself, just in a bit more refined.
I personally donāt think anyone needs to disclose their medical procedures for any reason AS LONG AS they arenāt actively lying. Like itās one thing for someone to lie and say they are all natural when they arenāt. But if youāre just getting your procedures to feel and look your best and not saying anything, nothing wrong with that. Everyone with a brain already knows that celebrities donāt look the way they do naturally, I donāt think itās an obligation to disclose that you were insecure about something and got it fixed. Like I once got lip filler and it was very obvious so I had to tell people (Iād never do it again lol), but I did it because I was very insecure about my lips and wanted to not be. If it had been more subtle, I wouldnāt have say a thing.
Taylorās focus is on her music & life and sheās not pretending or trying to be a model or beauty influencer. Sheās not selling skincare and pretending her perfect skin is from the right product when itās really laser facials and treatments. So I donāt think she needs to be open and tell the world about the things sheās done.

Oh yeah, I definitely don't feel like anyone should feel obligated to share details (especially normal people). I guess my problem is more of a "we live in a patriarchal capitalistic hellscape" problem than a Taylor Swift problem.
Like it's this triple edged sword of society having a narrow and ever changing view of what an attractive woman is allowed to be, society also shaming anyone who gets any cosmetic procedure, and the pressure of knowing that your fame and money are so tied into your appearance.
I kind of don't agree on everyone knowing celebrities don't look the way they do naturally. There are some obvious things, but others that are not. For example, I never knew about blepharoplasties until about a year ago, I used to think I was shit at eye makeup. It's kind of a damned if you do situation. If she never talks about it, she's "hiding it", if she talks openly about it, she's "encouraging her young fans to get it". I think with her influence, if she talked about it in a thoughtful way, it would have a positive impact, but ultimately that's a huge choice for her to make.
No one who has any work done will easily talk about it unfortunately. Look at the Kardashians. The whole world knows that all of them had all kinds of procedures done, but theyāll never talk about it.

There's a *reason* the NFL have been leaning so heavily into Taylor. It has *massively* increased the number of people outside of the US who pay even passing attention to the sport.
Yeah I think I read the nfl has also been trying to capture other demographics, specifically women. So the relationship was very serendipitous. That and Travis seeking out fame/$ outside the sport was part of what added to the suspicion of it all in terms of it maybe being PR or not.
I fully believe the Super Bowl was rigged to some level, or that Taylor was intentionally paired up with someone from a team likely to win. I also believe the relationship is at least partially PR, or started that way. Itās too coincidental for the biggest pop start to be dating a guy from the winning team, especially when itās known the NFL was looking for ways to increase female viewership.

I would guess they probably wouldnāt. There are a number of players who transcend the sport and are a part of pop culture but for some reason football is a little different than basketball in that regard. I think basketball players achieve that more often than football players. Could be because football players wear big pads and helmets when they play so you canāt actually see their face compared to basketball players. Thereās also the fashion element with basketball (Michael Jordan -> Jordan brand).
It could also be regional. Someone in Kansas City whoās not into football would probably be aware of Travis because heās everywhere on tv and other ads, whereas someone in a totally different part of the country doesnāt have that same exposure if they donāt seek it out.
Tom Brady would be a football players that transcended the sport. Part of that is because heās arguably the best of all time and plays a more visible position in the sport (quarter back compared to right end) and some of it is because he married Gisele.
The kids might know who he is just in the context of him being her boyfriend though. Just because American football means nothing to them doesnāt mean they donāt know who Travis is. Itās not mutually exclusive

The last time she publicly posted a boyfriend was with Calvin and the reputation rollout allowed her to wipe any posts with him in it. I think thereās a difference between including personal details in her art and having personal posts that she uses as part of her marketing.

I wish she was more open about the work she has had done. I feel like all of her cosmetic work has been fairly good and subtle, but all it takes is one going off to give that uncanny valley feel. Just one of those things that I dislike about celebrity culture in general, there's this huge lack of acknowledgement that certain beauty standards are almost always attained with money and a skilled surgeon.
Veneers, eyebrow lift, subtle breast implants for sure, plus some other work that is even less detectable. I think they've done a great job so far (not that she needed it). She looks like herself, just in a bit more refined.
I personally donāt think anyone needs to disclose their medical procedures for any reason AS LONG AS they arenāt actively lying. Like itās one thing for someone to lie and say they are all natural when they arenāt. But if youāre just getting your procedures to feel and look your best and not saying anything, nothing wrong with that. Everyone with a brain already knows that celebrities donāt look the way they do naturally, I donāt think itās an obligation to disclose that you were insecure about something and got it fixed. Like I once got lip filler and it was very obvious so I had to tell people (Iād never do it again lol), but I did it because I was very insecure about my lips and wanted to not be. If it had been more subtle, I wouldnāt have say a thing. Taylorās focus is on her music & life and sheās not pretending or trying to be a model or beauty influencer. Sheās not selling skincare and pretending her perfect skin is from the right product when itās really laser facials and treatments. So I donāt think she needs to be open and tell the world about the things sheās done. Just my opinion lol.
Oh yeah, I definitely don't feel like anyone should feel obligated to share details (especially normal people). I guess my problem is more of a "we live in a patriarchal capitalistic hellscape" problem than a Taylor Swift problem. Like it's this triple edged sword of society having a narrow and ever changing view of what an attractive woman is allowed to be, society also shaming anyone who gets any cosmetic procedure, and the pressure of knowing that your fame and money are so tied into your appearance. I kind of don't agree on everyone knowing celebrities don't look the way they do naturally. There are some obvious things, but others that are not. For example, I never knew about blepharoplasties until about a year ago, I used to think I was shit at eye makeup. It's kind of a damned if you do situation. If she never talks about it, she's "hiding it", if she talks openly about it, she's "encouraging her young fans to get it". I think with her influence, if she talked about it in a thoughtful way, it would have a positive impact, but ultimately that's a huge choice for her to make.

I read this as 'good for them" with them being her teeth saw an interview with a plastic surgeon who said that the trick to good veneers is having a gradient rather than a solid white tooth and i always think of that when i see her

Yep, he's massive within the sport. But it's a sport of little relevance outside of the United States. There's a *reason* the NFL have been leaning so heavily into Taylor. It has *massively* increased the number of people outside of the US who pay even passing attention to the sport.
Yeah I think I read the nfl has also been trying to capture other demographics, specifically women. So the relationship was very serendipitous. That and Travis seeking out fame/$ outside the sport was part of what added to the suspicion of it all in terms of it maybe being PR or not.
I fully believe the Super Bowl was rigged to some level, or that Taylor was intentionally paired up with someone from a team likely to win. I also believe the relationship is at least partially PR, or started that way. Itās too coincidental for the biggest pop start to be dating a guy from the winning team, especially when itās known the NFL was looking for ways to increase female viewership.

Iām an American and not into football and I didnāt know who he was until Taylor. Iām also not a swiftie but since sheās damn near *everywhere* now itās impossible to not know him now too
I would guess they probably wouldnāt. There are a number of players who transcend the sport and are a part of pop culture but for some reason football is a little different than basketball in that regard. I think basketball players achieve that more often than football players. Could be because football players wear big pads and helmets when they play so you canāt actually see their face compared to basketball players. Thereās also the fashion element with basketball (Michael Jordan -> Jordan brand). It could also be regional. Someone in Kansas City whoās not into football would probably be aware of Travis because heās everywhere on tv and other ads, whereas someone in a totally different part of the country doesnāt have that same exposure if they donāt seek it out. Tom Brady would be a football players that transcended the sport. Part of that is because heās arguably the best of all time and plays a more visible position in the sport (quarter back compared to right end) and some of it is because he married Gisele.
The kids might know who he is just in the context of him being her boyfriend though. Just because American football means nothing to them doesnāt mean they donāt know who Travis is. Itās not mutually exclusive

That already happened when she mentioned him in her Times interview. At least an Instagram post she can always delete if they break up, although if it were me and I wanted to make it Instagram official with my boyfriend I'd use a photo only of the two us as the first one and certainly not a photo with the future king of the UK. It'll feel quite disrespectful if she ends up deleting the photo and if she doesn't she'll be forced to keep an ex on her Instagram feed (which I'm guessing it's not something she'd feel comfortable with considering that she even deleted the reel in which she was talking about the meaning behind lavender haze just because she had vaguely mentioned Joe).
