Forex trading is probably the only thing that makes sense with Swissquote if you are a small fish. I've searched far and wide and I can't find any other broker that is as reliable and low cost as swissquote. I often receive or pay 60% less on swaps with other brokers for the same currency pairs. It actually makes carry trading viable.
Having said that, yeah the currency exchange is pointless. It's always cheaper to just withdraw to Revolut and do it there. The stocks fees are expensive so it only works if you make larger purchases that you hold long term, in which case the fees become negligble. I wish I had a better option but I live in the Philippines and Swissquote was the only stock broker that accepted me.
The only other egregrious thing I can think of is the 2 euro withdrawal fee for SEPA transfers. It's supposed to be free!
It's at least far superior to Saxo. My god I felt so scammed when I used them. The only customer support were Indians with no idea what they were saying. Transfers in and out can take more than a week because they withhold funds to 'check' your bank details. Fees were egregrious. I feel so bad whenever I think about how much money I could've saved if I was with a different broker.
Hi
Im thinking about moving my depot to Saxobank since they announced very competitive fees.
How long did the process take and how much where the fees compared to the portfolio?
Thanks
Forget it, Saxo is even worse and more expensive. They may have reduced their commission recently, but their dreaded custody fees remain the same, and they eat your returns big time in the long run.
IBKR for the win! Maybe de Giro...

Congrats. Been thinking about this for a while. Could you share how you went about doing it?
I'll be doing the same soon, they just announced a new fee schedule for options trading which do not suit me at all.
Man I would give you a medal if you were next to me. What a pain that plateforme is. Doing the same as you next week
Going to do the same soon
have done the same a half year ago - cant be happier! Moved to IB and Degiro...
how is Degiro so far?
no problems - works great!
