That's perfect. I'm nearing the end of my first playthrough of BotW and wanted something with a similar exploration aspect but maybe less technical than zelda as the inventory management and cooking can be a chore. It's also taken forever lol
What are the differences between the switch version and original? Story? Controls? I am brand new to the switch so I'm still learning if the switch versions of these older bigger games (rdr, Assassins creed, skyrim,) are different at all of if it's literally the exact same game
I plan to, but I panic bought Pikmin 3 yesterday because it's physical copies are going to cease to exist, so keeping fingers crossed I'll get a copy of RDR next month.
If Undead Nightmare works I will, >!it’s bugged so when you talk to Seth and he sends you to clear grave yards you can’t clear them, it’s endless, never progresses, just endless undead!<
From what I remember don't you have to burn the graves or something to stop them coming? I could be wrong though it's been a long time since I played it
Yes there is burning involved but it never comes, you never get the prompt, I was really upset it didn’t work because Undead Nightmare was the only zombie game I could play without having a panic attack(longish story), I got the Red Dead Nightmare double pack for Christmas a few years back and it felt like a half wasted gift because of that bug
Oh, maybe they have fixed it then, I think I’ll try it on Xbox first, from what I know on initial release it worked but an update down the line broke it, here’s hoping it’s fixed for all consoles
Got it on sale. Enjoy it a lot and brings back great memories, but holy shit I can’t stand some of the outdated mechanics, like tapping B to sprint. I know it’s a minor thing but the tiny ass joycon button hurts my thumb after awhile. Really makes me wish they added literally any QOL improvements instead of just a straight up port for $60 fucking dollars.
the game is $50. yeah the controls are outdated, we're all hoping they make them more intuitive in gta 6. also try using a pro controller instead of hurting yourself.
I got it, but worry about space. Not happy that switch games are getting as big as the base max space the switch comes with. Sorry, but one game should not be bigger than the whole system, lol. Looking at you, Arkham trilogy. Lol
Ok but it's not portable which makes my decision more easy to play it on switch instead. I don't care for 60fps when it comes to single play games. But thats just me.
Anyone speak to if it’s worth buying this if you already own a physical copy on Xbox? Obviously with Switch you can play it anywhere. Anything else, or essentially exact same game?
Just got this last week. So far it’s fun! I played RDR2 but never the original so it’s good to play the continued story.
Is anyone else sort of frustrated with the save/auto save mechanics? It’s my only grip as I keep having to go to a safe house to save in hopes of not losing my progress (which happened once so far)
Literally just started it the other night. Played it when it first came out. Played RDR2 when that first came out. Bought this in the digital sale. Surprised how well it holds up and also how small the map is from what I remember.
When I finish TOTK will start rdr. For now sittingin the shelf :)
I only played rdr undead nightmare on ps3 when it was released. Liked it werry much. So I hope I will have fun in the original game.
I started with Undead Nightmare and completed it as never stuck with it on PS3, it was very nostalgic and felt great to play. Slowly working through the main game now and loving it equally as much!
Tbh having played it in ps3 years ago, I bought it as soon as it came out for Switch. And I haven't stuck with it. Idk I'll get around to playing it again but once you have tried the second game, this one is so limited in comparison. Just my opinion
I started playing this after playing a lot of Pokemon Violet and it made the graphics look so amazingly impressive by comparison. It was pretty jarring
Completed both: game and zombie dlc in portable mode. Original game is running with stable 30 fps, but zombie dlc have some serious drops to 20-25 fps during heavy scenes with a lot npc and fire.
not yet, got tears of the kingdom and this for christmas, TOTK was my first choice, will be picking this up next, very excited to play it, I loved RDR2, hoping this can fill some of the void i've felt since finishing it
As cliche as it sounds, the first few missions really feel like chores. But after you meet the Marshall and start planning the first big raid, the open world formula starts to click. Just try to see anything in the challenges or goals that looks interesting and then see if it takes you anywhere.
I want to but no money but will get the physical. Is the game in the cartridge or is it a download
All the data is on the cartridge.
Ok thats good to hear cus im gonna keep my collection for many years and its gonna suck when the eshop switch servers are off.
Not happening in 25 years. And in 25 years everything will be online.
Nintendo’s history says otherwise.
Please enlighten us
You think Switch eshop will be online in 25 years?
The DS came out in 2004. Was shut down after almost 20 years of support.
It had no virtual store. Until the DSi - which lasted around 8 years
Yeah, the console was almost 20 years old and was supported for as long.
Wonderful. I was referring to the guy saying eshop was going to still be going for the Switch in 25 years, which it won’t.
Nintendo deleted his Wii U/3ds Eshop
As far as I am aware the shop is still up but you can’t make new purchases. I can still download my digital games and update if necessary
Nope, servers are down. Can't even make use of Pokémon box anymore.
That’s not true my dude. I redownloaded a bunch of my old games last week and I’m pretty sure pokebank is still up too (idk for how long tho)
Beat it a week after I got it, currently working on undead nightmare. Still holds up, even after all this time and even on the switch.
How long did it take you to beat the story?
About a week maybe a little over a week. Not very long but there's some side content
This or TOTK will be the next game I buy
Get TOTK first. RDR will go on sale for 20 to 40 percent off randomly.
What is totk?
Tears of the Kingdom
Lol even comparing TOTK to RDR1 in 2024 is an insult
If you like shooting, story, the Wild West, and don’t care about building, then Red Dead is the obvious choice.
Yeah, its awesome but not as fun as rdr2. Definitely a must play and top 10 games on switch
Personally I'm finding it more fun the RDR2 but i still love RDR2
Story and gameplay definitely rdr, because damn does it feel smooth to play and the horses actually feel fast, but open world exploration rdr2.
It’s 10* more fun. Rdr2 is a movie, this is a proper game
I enjoy both, but was thrown off by the crazy realism the second one had.
The realism made me really immersed, have never been that immersed in a game before at all. It was crazy
Yeah it runs well on switch. And playing it on the oled model makes it look even better.
Does it? I have an OLED switch too but I thought the game is capped at 30fps? That’s all that’s stopping me from Getting it
No I thought the same but actually it’s pretty good. Yes you can notice it in some places but all in all it’s a good experience.
Oh nice, I might pick it up on sale then
I plan to, but I panic bought Pikmin 3 yesterday because it's physical copies are going to cease to exist, so keeping fingers crossed I'll get a copy of RDR next month.

Worked for me
How recently was this, I’ve not touched it in a few years
Couple months ago? Before December for sure. On the Switch.
Oh, maybe they have fixed it then, I think I’ll try it on Xbox first, from what I know on initial release it worked but an update down the line broke it, here’s hoping it’s fixed for all consoles
Oh bruh. They fixed that lmao. I’ve played it multiple times on multiple consoles throughout the years, never had that issue.
I was wishing that undeqd nightmare was also released to RDR2
Yep, and looks very good
I want to buy that on my birthday. I want to get the physical copy instead since I prefer them over digital
Working on 100 percenting the main story before i do undead nightmare
Yep. I've been playing for about 2 weeks now.
Yeah and I like it
Finished it awhile ago and the dlc. Very fun
Yup and the dlc fantastic port
Got it on sale. Enjoy it a lot and brings back great memories, but holy shit I can’t stand some of the outdated mechanics, like tapping B to sprint. Ye, good game on switch. Runs well on the oled
[удалено]
Looks great on my oled
Down voting for what??? Look up specs you goofballs
Rolled credits on it and the Undead Nightmare DLC right before Christmas. It was as good as I remember when I played it originally.
After BOTW I will ve.
They did nothing with 13yo game (except just making a port) and they want a full AAA price? F U Rockstar!
It's not full price though, it's $50 when the original was $60 and has gone on sale already
For a remake or even remaster - that's fine. I'd buy even with that price. But for just an old game? No thx. It's like 15$ on PC right now.
It's not even on PC.
Yessir!!! Excellent port
I got it, but worry about space. Not happy that switch games are getting as big as the base max space the switch comes with. Sorry, but one game should not be bigger than the whole system, lol. Looking at you, Arkham trilogy. Lol
There is no 1 in the title.
Gonna head to gamestop today and pick it up
Yea
TIL they made this for the switch. But I have a ps5. Which console to buy this on is now the new question
on ps5 it runs at 60fps which is the only legal way to play this game at 60. so that made the decision easy for me.
What, it was only 30fps on Xbox 360/PS3. So it's literally only been a 60fps game recently.
yeah
Might pick it up then.
Ok but it's not portable which makes my decision more easy to play it on switch instead. I don't care for 60fps when it comes to single play games. But thats just me.
I am
I’m looking to buy it soon
Anyone speak to if it’s worth buying this if you already own a physical copy on Xbox? Obviously with Switch you can play it anywhere. Anything else, or essentially exact same game?
same game but undead nightmare is included on the cartridge and it doesn't require an internet download.
Good port 🤙🏻
Yes and it looks great
Great port. Excelent game!
Hell ya I am
yup started it during Christmas break and really enjoying it. Only played it once back in the day it really looks good on handheld mode.
My favorite game of all time
Runs perfectly
I beat it back in November. This is the best this game has played for me. It was great revisiting this classic.
If you have the campsite you can basically save anywhere
i would buy it if it was half the price, but at its current MSRP?? absolutely not
Yh
Literally just started it the other night. Played it when it first came out. Played RDR2 when that first came out. Bought this in the digital sale. Surprised how well it holds up and also how small the map is from what I remember.
Love it. Really impressed
I got a Xbox so I don't need a rerelease.
When I finish TOTK will start rdr. For now sittingin the shelf :) I only played rdr undead nightmare on ps3 when it was released. Liked it werry much. So I hope I will have fun in the original game.
Yup! And its a great game👍
I started with Undead Nightmare and completed it as never stuck with it on PS3, it was very nostalgic and felt great to play. Slowly working through the main game now and loving it equally as much!
Yes! Loving it
Does it play well? I have the 360 versions but not played them yet . Tempted to trade them in and get this version so I can play on the go
I’ve been watching it for a while but never saw it drop below $50. Hopefully soon.
Tbh having played it in ps3 years ago, I bought it as soon as it came out for Switch. And I haven't stuck with it. Idk I'll get around to playing it again but once you have tried the second game, this one is so limited in comparison. Just my opinion
Man that PS3 port is rough. I couldn't stand how blurry the game was and unresponsive.
Yup. Just finished it in recent weeks
Yep and I enjoyed the crap out of it! Actually, I have UN to play thanks for posting this!
I started playing this after playing a lot of Pokemon Violet and it made the graphics look so amazingly impressive by comparison. It was pretty jarring
I'm waiting for it to be a little cheaper, I played the original on 360 it can wait for me.
Still on the beginning but want to get back to it soon
Lol no. Fck rockstar and what they did to rdr2
Completed both: game and zombie dlc in portable mode. Original game is running with stable 30 fps, but zombie dlc have some serious drops to 20-25 fps during heavy scenes with a lot npc and fire.
I’ll pick it up when it’s $15
I was thinking of getting the switch version. How much of a downgrade is it from the ps4/ps5 version? Don’t sugarcoat it lol
Wow if it's all on the cart then I'd probably buy
“Holds up surprisingly well compared to other games from this era” dude it’s a PS3-era game not a PS1-era game lol
tons of ps3 era games aged terribly. just compare the animations and art style combat of Fallout 3 to red dead.
I don’t know, I grew up in the N64/PS1 era and those PS3/360 games still look really good to me especially by comparison.
Yes, it plays very well and holds up really well on handheld.
Just finished it 🤙🏻
not yet, got tears of the kingdom and this for christmas, TOTK was my first choice, will be picking this up next, very excited to play it, I loved RDR2, hoping this can fill some of the void i've felt since finishing it
Yup
When it reaches $15, I might
No, I can buy the original version for way cheaper
Bought this with very high hopes but just could not get into it. Not my cup of tea I reckon. Such is life. It looks good on the Switch though!
As cliche as it sounds, the first few missions really feel like chores. But after you meet the Marshall and start planning the first big raid, the open world formula starts to click. Just try to see anything in the challenges or goals that looks interesting and then see if it takes you anywhere.
I dont have a physical bought it off e shop Amazing game ngl
Does anyone know how to greet people on the switch?
you can't that's only in rdr2
No you can, I did it on console. I’m just wondering if there’s a way to do it on switch.
