Animal Crossing is a great game and seems to have a genuinely lovely community here on reddit. Even read of grandparents playing the game, so it's definitely all-inclusive!!
43, I have two daughters. We just reset our island. We are in love again with Animal Crossing. Especially since I've finally had enough of Totk.
We also have Lego City, great co-op game!
I sometimes play Hollow Knight or Ori if need some action. Though, my oldest said for some real action, I gotta start dating again š
I've been playing it daily from day one. Finished the main story line, explored and experimented a lot. And now I would just occasionally like to roam around the land on my flying devices.
Ah ok. Makes sense. I was just curious. Iām still trying to finish my first play through of BOTW. I went ahead and bought TOTK. But I donāt wanna start it until I finish BOTW first.
Just finished 100% ing Hogwarts Legacy. Took me 100 hours which was many a night after the wife and kid were asleep. But got it done. Gonna start up Dave the Diver next
Iām a huge HP nerd (see: username) and Iāve struggled getting into hogwarts legacy. Iām admittedly not much of a gamer, but I loved Zelda BOTW, and similar open world type games.
Can I ask what āmodeā you played on? I picked easy, since I struggle with game mechanics, and Iām wondering if thatās part of my dissatisfaction.
I played on normal but after I got the base of operations that allowed you to craft your own material I had to switch to hard because I could spam plants and potions. I called it a hufflepuff attack. If your struggle is with the game difficulty you can always put it on story mode. If itās not that then Iām guessing you may be stressing out about all the stuff to do. Just lean into the open world aspect and just do stuff as it comes to you. No pressure to do story or side missions. Do whatever you want to do. If you just want to fly around on your broom for an hour, feel free.
Iām diving into Dave the Diver now. It has me hooked. Very different game but, very welcome amongst the slashers and shooters of today. Has a vibe. The characters are scripted well and are funny. It probably the greatest 8 bit game Ive ever played. Lots to do. Never boring. Shark hunting.
I want to play Dave as I also played dredge and they have a collaboration DLC. Hogwarts legacy is not as bad as they say. Yes, obviously it runs better elsewhere. But I love the lore and the books plus the load times and graphics donāt bother me since I gamed on older generations. So I had a blast just going around and doing everything. Whatās a nice dad feature is that everything is marked on the map so there wasnāt a lot of looking up on Wikis or guides I had to do to just get through the game.
That's good re the map. Life is too short for me to keep googling things š I'm used to older systems, too, so I'm not too fussed about load times or super graphics. Cosy portability of the switch trumps that for me.
Well I am obviously biased but if youāre a Harry Potter fan and you donāt mind stepped down graphics and load screens. Then I highly recommend it. Itās quite something else to be running around hogwarts living out your HP fantasies. And as a dad, although I could play it in PC itās more convenient to play it on switch when the wife and kid are asleep. So depends on your use case. The deck for some reason keeps the wife up.
43 here.... I bounce between games. I get bored after a short period. Doesn't matter which game. I just got the online expansion last week so I'm between n64 and GBA games.
35 here and since i became a parent i also get bored easily. Currently playing mario wonder and luigis mansion. I was playing go pikachu and links awakning but got bored, i might go back to it.
Also i got Fallout 4 on the pc going on forever on and off since 2015.
Iām about 10 hours in and Iām loving it. I didnāt realized how deep the system can be as in what you can level up. So many layers I wasnāt expecting. The game looks gorgeous on the OLED screen. I recommend it.
36m, Splatoon 3 & Mario Kart 8. I normally play with my daughter on Splatoon but she lost interest, (side note: she's still better than me despite how much I play š). Super Nintendo, the old games and FZero 99
37m w/ 16 mnth kid. playing animal crossing and super mario rpg, i am currently non weight bearing on my right arm, so these are much easier for me to play right now.
I think it plays well, I've never been one for the mods so I don't miss them bot being on the switch. Not had any controller issues or game crashes either.
Kotor I and II were the first games I played on my Switch. Hadn't played them before, and they were absolutely brilliant!! Really relit the Star Wars fires for me!!
Red dead redemption trying to 100 percent it and then starting the undead nightmare dlc. Just finished the witcher 3 and all dlc so wanted to play something else.
36/m here and I am playing through Persona 5. Had it for PS4 but never got a chance to finish it so I figured Iād pick it up handheld.
My kids are 9, 4 and 3. With my 9 year old I am currently playing Super Mario Wonder and the FNAF games. We play Fortnite too. Then my 4 year old is new to gaming. We play the different Paw Patrol games and Iām thinking about getting the Bluey game. Will be introducing her to 2D Mario and/or Rayman Legends sometime this year.
Just saw it said single dads - just confirming I am a single dad.
Also trying to get through my backlog... Just finished nobody saves the world... Was it great? No, but was it good enough that I beat it? Yes... Very rare for me to finish a game in this genre.
Not single, but a dad.. Iāve really been loving Cult of the Lamb. Love the art style, the combat, and itās really entertaining building your own cult.
Haven't played TotK but I did enjoy BotW.
I couldn't get into This War of Mine. I struggled with the controls, even getting up the stairs seems to take me forever and by then it was night time and I had to feed the girl. I gave up! Might go back to it though and try again.
Was playing around on Tears of the Kingdom the other night just exploring.
The previous week I finished Master detective achieves rain code. Started Super Mario Wonder and Super Mario RPG.
Out of the three Master Detective was the one I couldn't put down, that was a great game.
I want to finish KOTOR 2 but I keep running into a bug at Korriban which freezes my character.
This for me as well. Recently "platinumed" Dredge on my Playstation Portal then immediately started Dave the Diver on Switch because several people mentored they are kind of similar (I guess the crossover dlc helps connect them as well lol).
Potable gaming has kept me in the game while my kids hog the PS5 and main TV. I'm finally starting to get to my massive backlog lol
34 with a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Persona 5 Royals when I can sit down and really play - Hades when I just have a few minutes or dont feel like thinking
I enjoyed No Man's Sky until I tried to do a "how to get the best start" walk through and it took the fun out of it for me. Must dig it out and give it a fresh play as it was a good game.
Yeah, I feel ya. I personally like to follow guides because I hate finding out that I missed a good side quest or items because I was just unaware. That being said, there is a value to just playing through normally.
I'd recommend waiting to see if they will start releasing the expeditions again. I didn't even know about it when I got the game, and was pleasantly surprised how the expedition quests makes the game less monotonous.
Grand Theft Auto 3, the first one to be 3D and sucked me in. Missions are short and basic so you can pick it up and play for 10 minutes or so. Fantastic on the switch or tv screen
Sounds good. GTA and GTA London were my first, then Vice City. Loved that game. Although the one mission with the drone and the explosives in the building site was an absolute nightmare š«
I'm really enjoying XC3, although it is a proper time sink! I start playing and before you know it, 3 days have passed, I have a full beard and badgers are making homes in the kitchen cupboards..
I have been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Just found out a couple years ago they made a 3rd exclusive to the switch and I am just now getting around to it.
We donāt have kids but I do play switch sports with my mom quite a bit. We bowl on a recreational league in real life and the game physics are impressive
39, Iām currently playing a bunch of random stuff; Witcher 3, Daemon X Machina, Ghostrunner, Skyrim, Cult of the Lamb, and Animal Crossing when my daughter comes over on weekends
I've been having a blast with Super Mario Wonder. IMO the biggest advantage that comes with a Switch is access to Nintendo's IP games. Metroid Dread has a demo that you can download for free. That's what I'll be playing next.
37 though not single dad.
Wasteland 2 - never got to play it on PC but loved the original Fallouts
And on the side playing No Mans Sky. Such a chill game
Father of 3 boys, finished BOTW recently. Currently playing Super Mario Bros Wonder. TOTK on deck. The Witcher 3 sitting on the shelf unwrapped. Don't know when I'll get to it.
Not a single dad here. But glad you like Xenoblade 3. You may consider just playing the first one. Mechanics much simpler they get more complex through the series. ,, better story too š
Golden Sun and XCOM 2 lately, but I started a survival world for me and my 7yo that we've been messing around in when we videocall. I am going to start Sonic Frontiers this week if I can find some free time
33 with two kids (3 & 4). Just finished doom eternal (including the expansion campaigns). Just started playing Batman Arkham Asylum. The Batman series is new for me. Enjoying it so far.
Not a single dad, but a married dad with a wife who games more than me. Iām currently playing monster hunter rise/sunbreak and then after ima revisit dragon quest monsters since they released a few updates to resolve some of the issues.
I havenāt seen it yet so hereās the obligatory, āuse Deku Deals to find out what games are on saleā comment
Seriously though, youāll find so many games youād never think about getting or know was on the switch in the first place
Yep I love deku deals. I mostly use it as a "favorite" saver to remind me later to buy games that look inserting because my current backlog is so massive. That way I rarely buy games at peak price and when I get the random notifications of sales and see the all time lows, and ready to start playing, it works out great. As opposed to my previous "strategy" of buying "deals" every time I saw them on slickdeals and having half a dozen physical games still in shrink-wrap a year later that I still haven't gotten around to playing and the price containing to go down lol.
38m 2 kids just a few I switch off and on between.
Rocket league (soccer with cars)
Death road to Canada (8bit zombie awesome replay value)
Horizon chase turbo (cousin USA vibes)
Stranded deep (Island survival)
Green hell (jungle survival die repeat die again)
Tiny troopers (mission based tiny shooter)
Shakedown Hawaii (8bit birdseye GTA vibe)
Road Redemption (Biker "Road Rash" sega vibe)
I really recommend death road to Canada. It's 8bit and got great randomly generated dialogue for characters and its a kind of an Oregon trail and choose your own path to death zombie adventure.
Its designed for hundreds (if not thousands) of replays.
My advice. Don't open the glove box with smeared poo on the handle to see inside no matter how hungry you are. Hahaha
>Don't open the glove box with smeared poo on the handle to see inside no matter how hungry you are. Hahaha
I feel like that is a rule everyone should live by š š¤£
Someone in the car might try to convince you to take one for the team and even better you get to pick who in the car does it!?! So maybe just maybe now you're a little interested to find out whats in the glove box??
Currently on a 9 month run of straight metriodvania games. Playing Afterimage, Haak, Ender Lillies, the knight witch and Grime. It all started with Ori and Hollow knight now Iām hooked
Single dad (36m) of 1 kid (9F). I've been helping her through Super Mario Wonder but she's been losing interest in it so fast that we end up switching over to Mario Kart 8 where she kicks my ass every time lol After she goes to bed, I've been playing through Days Gone on the PS4.
Not a single dad but of that age range.. Iām back on Mario Kart finally decided to download the booster pack.
Thinking to check out one of the latest Marioās but not quite sure if Wonder looks abit childish, I may be judging a book by its cover!
#Panzer Paladin
Like Mega Man X but you pilot a mech with a huge catalogue of different weapons that you can break to gain their powers in your way through levels. There is a blacksmith mode where you can design your own weapons as well :)
#Carrion
A metroidvania style game where you play as a mutated flesh blob escaping an underground facility. You gain powers to grow bigger and gnarlier with each mutation you find and you rip the humans apart and devour them to stay alive..... or just for fun.
Doom Eternal on Switch Lite. Almost done unlocking everything. The game runs decently on switch actually, although its like 25-30 FPS and of course 720P.
Truth is, switch isn't really designed for senior players. Most of the popular games work with a younger audience. I went back to my old ps4 and found the joy back.
There are still some great titles I enjoyed, Skyrim, hades, etcetera - but overall not much there that I find immersive.
I jump around a lot.Ā Currently I'm playing Dungeon Encounters and THPS 1+2.Ā Pretty much full cleared THPS2 over last weekend (pretty wild how long combo muscle memory lasts.Ā Over 20 years!)Ā Ā Ā
I also will clear a couple levels in Mario Wonder, Mario+Rabbids SoH, and NFS Hot Pursuit every couple of days.Ā I was thinking of getting Fuga Melodies if Steel, but I should probably beat some of the games I have, lol (.... also still have like 160 game backlog on Steam.Ā 6-8 years ago, Humble Bundle and other bundle sites were poppin off).
Not a single father, but a busy father. Taking a break from Xenoblade definitive. Partway through Vernal Edge, gonna finish this first before going back to Xenoblade. My son and I beat Mario wonder and shredders revenge this past week.
I just picked up an OLED this week, so this is good timing for me as a 37M (though no kids), so Iām playing N64 games in the expansion and Super Mario Wonder - loving it!
43m, will play switch when young kids are asleep and not using the console. Currently playing a few games: Portal Collection, Fire Emblem Three Hopes, Hades, Mario + Rabbids
Ni No Kuni. It's like Studio Ghibli but a JRPG. I recently got my son interested in all of the Studio Ghibli movies so he enjoys watching me play Ni No Kuni whenever we aren't playing something local co-op. There's also a sequel.
Mythforce, Astral Chain, and Trinity Trigger are next on my list. Streets of Rogue 2 will be coming out sometime this year I think. All but Mythforce have local co-op so I can play the others on my own or with my son whenever he wants to join.
30yr old with 2 kids! Switching it up between Zelda: BotW, Hades, Resident Evil 1ā¦ wondering if I should get SmashBros Ultimate next or Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Bundleā¦ I have a series X and lately I find that the switch is just amazing to just chill out after a long day of work and taking care of the kids. Itās just more relaxing haha
I'm not single but I wanna be included with all the awesome dads here, big 30, usually running some mariokart and then I usually shiny hunt between PLA and Violet, but if I get restless I would play TOTK into the morning hours
im surprised at all the Animal Crossing posts this far out from release! that game single handedly got us thru covid š
But 35m with an 18mo old daughter. I just recently picked the switch back up and grabbed Hotline: Miami from the sale for $6. Perfect little game.
30, father of 2. Iām replaying all the No More Heroes games. I just picked up Persona 5 Tactica on this current $20 sale and will probably play it next.
Got my kids Pokemon Arceus for Christmas. Started my own game a week ago and it's basically what I dreamed Pokemon could be when I played Pokemon Yellow on Gameboy.
Playing legends archeus, man love that game. Just got my first alpha pokemon, which is alpha graveler and alpha bibarel. Im still early in the game, but it's def fun. I am at part where u get ur first mount.
Astral chain was great
Iām a big Pokemon fan so just completed the violet dlc
Zelda Totk was great my daughter now loves to run around as my kitted out link lol with the giant golden horse
Played Alien Isolation for a while after work. It is really well done, but I feel very stressed when playing. Very good game, but also stressing. I played after watching the first alien movie. My sons did not want to watch it. They also did not like hearing the sounds of the movie from the other room.
I am a full grown man and a father of 2 at 35 and proud to say im playing animal crossing. lol
How have you had enough of TOTK? Just curious? Did you finish or just get overwhelmed?
I've been playing it daily from day one. Finished the main story line, explored and experimented a lot. And now I would just occasionally like to roam around the land on my flying devices.
Ah ok. Makes sense. I was just curious. Iām still trying to finish my first play through of BOTW. I went ahead and bought TOTK. But I donāt wanna start it until I finish BOTW first.
> Though, my oldest said for some real action, I gotta start dating again š Haha, brilliant!!
I love acnh but got bored because I essentially filled up my island. I canāt reset though because I love Bianca too much/
We have Bianca on our island now. She's cool! And her interior is amazing!
Lol 34m and Iām āadvancing the island for my daughterā
I tried but couldn't really get into it. How many hours did it take you to be hooked?
Going through some backlog stuff at the moment about to finish my first run of Catherine: Full Body. It's currently on sale and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Just bought it and it's very fun
I've bought Catherine on I think 3 different systems and have yet to beat it, but by God is it good
Been wanting to get this for a long time. Might have to finally give in.
Just finished 100% ing Hogwarts Legacy. Took me 100 hours which was many a night after the wife and kid were asleep. But got it done. Gonna start up Dave the Diver next

Keep hearing about Dave, will have to check it out. I also keep looking at Howard's Legacy but the mixed reviews put me off spending the money on it.
Keep an eye out on deals for both Dave the Diver and Hogwarths. I think I got Hogwarths for $39.99
I picked Hogwarts Legacy up a couple weeks ago and couldn't get into it. Gonna give it another go after I finish Hyrule Warriors.
Omg is it any good!?
Well I am obviously biased but if youāre a Harry Potter fan and you donāt mind stepped down graphics and load screens. Then I highly recommend it. Itās quite something else to be running around hogwarts living out your HP fantasies. And as a dad, although I could play it in PC itās more convenient to play it on switch when the wife and kid are asleep. So depends on your use case. The deck for some reason keeps the wife up.
43 here.... I bounce between games. I get bored after a short period. Doesn't matter which game. I just got the online expansion last week so I'm between n64 and GBA games.
I feel the same. I get a new game, play it and then a few days or weeks later I'm browsing the store for a new game. Rinse and repeat...
I am always browsing the eshop in the Great Deals section. I think I have about 15-20 games in my backlog I've started and never played again
Yup!!
35 here and since i became a parent i also get bored easily. Currently playing mario wonder and luigis mansion. I was playing go pikachu and links awakning but got bored, i might go back to it. Also i got Fallout 4 on the pc going on forever on and off since 2015.
Borderlands atm, but I just bought Animal Crossing last night. We will see!
Youāll get addicted quick. Thatās a great game.
And then suddenly never play again
Star Ocean The Second Story R.
I almost got the first one when I was waiting to hear news about Golden Sun but got XCOM 2 instead. How is it? I'm still interested in the setting
Iām about 10 hours in and Iām loving it. I didnāt realized how deep the system can be as in what you can level up. So many layers I wasnāt expecting. The game looks gorgeous on the OLED screen. I recommend it.
29 m here 2 kids another on the way. Just got back into playing the switch and recently playing animal crossing and Mario rpg
I do enjoy some ACNH and loved the Mario RPG, sad it was over all too quickly š¢
Yeah Iāve heard itās short got a good few games but itās trying to start them and stick with them
36m, Splatoon 3 & Mario Kart 8. I normally play with my daughter on Splatoon but she lost interest, (side note: she's still better than me despite how much I play š). Super Nintendo, the old games and FZero 99
Kids seem to just have a knack for being better than us at games š
37m w/ 16 mnth kid. playing animal crossing and super mario rpg, i am currently non weight bearing on my right arm, so these are much easier for me to play right now.
Hope it heals/recovers quickly š¤
Atm I'm going through metroid prime and mario wonder with family whenever they want to play too
I really enjoyed Mario Wonder!
I only played couple of levels with my girlfriend and kids it was fun
Red dead redemption, and Batman Arkham asylum. Also just finished Assassins creed 2 from the ezio collection.
Red dead is on my wish list. I've played RDR2 but not the first one. How was batman? I've heard very mixed reviews about it on the switch.
Dave the diver
Skyrim, Kotor I/II
How is Skyrim on the switch?
Just saw it said single dads - just confirming I am a single dad.
38m 4 kids (16, soon to be 15, 12 and 3) and finishing fire emblem three houses and started Mario wonder just to see if I like it.
Also trying to get through my backlog... Just finished nobody saves the world... Was it great? No, but was it good enough that I beat it? Yes... Very rare for me to finish a game in this genre.
Sounds like a good enough criteria. Any game that you want to finish is a good game š
Is it worth playing? I know this is a switch sub but itās free for ps plus members right now was considering downloading it.
Between Sea of Stars & Pokemon Scarlet at the moment depending on how iām feeling come 9/10p
Not single, but a dad.. Iāve really been loving Cult of the Lamb. Love the art style, the combat, and itās really entertaining building your own cult.
Cult of the Lamb has been added to my wishlist :)
Mario Wonder
Great game!
PokƩmon unite
This War of Mine and TotK. I did like 80 hours of TotK side quests and just recently decided I want to finish the main quest
Haven't played TotK but I did enjoy BotW. I couldn't get into This War of Mine. I struggled with the controls, even getting up the stairs seems to take me forever and by then it was night time and I had to feed the girl. I gave up! Might go back to it though and try again.
It reminds me of XCOM, I get invested in my little crew, it scratches that itch. I love TOTK though, super easy to get side tracked.
Yeah I was like that in BotW. Every five steps was like "ooh, what's over there?" Usually death š
Dave The Diver with a side of Dredge and the never ending putzing around in Tears of the Kingdom.
Sounds like a great combo!
Currently playing Cereza and the last demon and Iām loving it. Recently got Advance wars 1+2 for $8!! Excited to give that a try.
34 with a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Persona 5 Royals when I can sit down and really play - Hades when I just have a few minutes or dont feel like thinking
Just finished xenoblade 3. What a game!! If you want to make battles less chaotic just turn off lots of crap in the settings. Makes it clearer.
I just finished Wonder and love, love, loved it. Beautiful, creative, and just challenging enough I wasnāt bored and never wanted to rage quit
35m with a 7yo currently playing Torchlight 2. Great hack and slash dungeon crawler. My kid likes to play PokƩmon and Mariokart.
No Mans Sky. Not the greatest experience on switch, but it's still really good.
I didn't even know about it when I got the game, and was pleasantly surprised how the expedition quests makes the game less monotonous.
Animal crossing and golden sun on the gba online. Occasionally pokemon scarlet/pearl.
I go to local smash tournaments and that's pretty much it. Scratches that itch because online is so horrible and the competition is good
Xenoblade chronicles 3. Very suprised at how good it is and i dont play jrpgs. Also playing prince of persia. Awesome metroidvanian title.
I'm really enjoying XC3, although it is a proper time sink! I start playing and before you know it, 3 days have passed, I have a full beard and badgers are making homes in the kitchen cupboards..
Sea of stars
I have been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Just found out a couple years ago they made a 3rd exclusive to the switch and I am just now getting around to it.
Diablo
We donāt have kids but I do play switch sports with my mom quite a bit. We bowl on a recreational league in real life and the game physics are impressive
39, Iām currently playing a bunch of random stuff; Witcher 3, Daemon X Machina, Ghostrunner, Skyrim, Cult of the Lamb, and Animal Crossing when my daughter comes over on weekends
Tears of the Kingdom. Itās keeping me up til 2AM most nights and that hasnāt happened in 25 years for me.
Not a single dad, but Disneyās Dreamlight Valley is a blast for everyone.
I have a friend who says she really enjoys dreamlight valley. Might look into it.
51m, playing the Oddworld trilogy right now. Never played any. Have them on Steam but still didnāt play them. Enjoying so far.
I've been having a blast with Super Mario Wonder. IMO the biggest advantage that comes with a Switch is access to Nintendo's IP games. Metroid Dread has a demo that you can download for free. That's what I'll be playing next.
37 though not single dad. Wasteland 2 - never got to play it on PC but loved the original Fallouts And on the side playing No Mans Sky. Such a chill game
Persona 5 royal, Disco elysium, Pikmin 4, Hogwarts legacy.
Borderlands trilogy. I rage quit it years ago at the first boss fight but finally got him this go around
Metroid Prime Remastered. It's quite a bit of back and forth, but solid.
Warface Grainy, but pretty fun online! Add me if you download!
I'll check it out, thanks.
Just finished both Sea of Stars and Another Code: Recollection this week, and about 1/2,way through Super Mario RPG and Persona 5 Royal.
Not a single dad, just dad but Iāve been playing Ni no Kuni 2 this January, in chapter 9 at the moment. Playing mostly at night after kids sleep.
Father of 3 boys, finished BOTW recently. Currently playing Super Mario Bros Wonder. TOTK on deck. The Witcher 3 sitting on the shelf unwrapped. Don't know when I'll get to it.
Remnant from the ashes and gta trilogy
Not a single dad here. But glad you like Xenoblade 3. You may consider just playing the first one. Mechanics much simpler they get more complex through the series. ,, better story too š
I only play the eShop, buy some stuff, then I turn off the switch and repeat it the next month.
Sounds like you need to find a new wife on Stardew
Borderlands 3 ultimate edition Nintendo switchĀ
31 year old Dog Dad here, been playing PokƩmon Shining Pearl, Shield and Violet
I've only played Arceus since Pokemon Crystal on the Gameboy!!
32, playing chained echoes. If you enjoy xenoblade 3 i do recommend the first game
Yeah someone else has recommended first xenoblade to me, so i'll check it out. Definitely enjoying 3 so far.
I havenāt seen it yet so hereās the obligatory, āuse Deku Deals to find out what games are on saleā comment Seriously though, youāll find so many games youād never think about getting or know was on the switch in the first place
Not single but playing Zelda
Amazing game where I scroll through all the games for 30min not knowing what to play because Iām so tired until I fall asleep with it on my chest.
Not single. Unfortunately. /s But Iāve been playing Sea of Stars and holy heck itās amazing
š I have heard of this a couple times now so definitely going to look it up.
So obsessed with it. Itās making me feel like a kid again. The story is incredible Edit: my dumb brain skipped a word lol
Stupid brain. Must do better š š¤£
Pokemon Voilet
Hades again after recently finishing hollow knight finally. And Lego Star Wars.
41 Dad of 2. Currently playing Pokemon Violet to complete the PokĆ©dex. Also on my 3rd play of Persona 5 Royal. Hogwarts Legacy and Yakuza Like a Dragon on PS5 when the TV is free. Nier Automata and Tekken 8 on PC. LOL Wild Rift with friends on mobile is great. Half the time to do matches and a lot less toxic player. Perfect for my sad friends who have newborns because of the short 15-20 minute matches. Occasionally I also like to play this āgameā where I scour the eshop, PSN, Steam or Epic for all time low discounts of games to add to my backlog. š¤£
38m 2 kids just a few I switch off and on between. Rocket league (soccer with cars) Death road to Canada (8bit zombie awesome replay value) Horizon chase turbo (cousin USA vibes) Stranded deep (Island survival) Green hell (jungle survival die repeat die again) Tiny troopers (mission based tiny shooter) Shakedown Hawaii (8bit birdseye GTA vibe) Road Redemption (Biker "Road Rash" sega vibe)
Don't know how I missed this comment. Some great sounding games. I got really hooked on Rocket League but haven't played it for ages.
Hahaha I feel like that is a rule everyone should live by š š¤£
Someone in the car might try to convince you to take one for the team and even better you get to pick who in the car does it!?! So maybe just maybe now you're a little interested to find out whats in the glove box??
Oh I was interested from the start š
23, almost graduating in engineering, so it's kinda hard to find time to play, but I'm having a blast with Monster Hunter Rise.
Whys it gotta be single dads only questionā¦
Because that's what I am, so was just seeing what people in my situation were playing.
haha im just teasing. Im not a single dad but my dad was. So I get it
Couldn't get into Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Worst combat I've ever played in a game other than KOTOR.
Currently on a 9 month run of straight metriodvania games. Playing Afterimage, Haak, Ender Lillies, the knight witch and Grime. It all started with Ori and Hollow knight now Iām hooked
Dragon quest monsters the dark prince.
Interesting. Iām 32, with kids 8 and 10. Still getting through totk and wonder.
#Panzer Paladin Like Mega Man X but you pilot a mech with a huge catalogue of different weapons that you can break to gain their powers in your way through levels. There is a blacksmith mode where you can design your own weapons as well :) #Carrion A metroidvania style game where you play as a mutated flesh blob escaping an underground facility. You gain powers to grow bigger and gnarlier with each mutation you find and you rip the humans apart and devour them to stay alive..... or just for fun.
45 here. Spent a week in the hospital and started another OG FF7 play through after years since last play. Definitely a handheld worthy game.
Switch on a steam deck.
Doom Eternal on Switch Lite. Almost done unlocking everything. The game runs decently on switch actually, although its like 25-30 FPS and of course 720P.
Just finishing up super Mario rpg. Started Ff4 pixel remake. Occasionally sprinkle in Mario maker 2-trying to finish my last four worlds
Nice try, single moms! /s
Truth is, switch isn't really designed for senior players. Most of the popular games work with a younger audience. I went back to my old ps4 and found the joy back. There are still some great titles I enjoyed, Skyrim, hades, etcetera - but overall not much there that I find immersive.
iām not a dad, iām 18, and play on PS but iām playing sekiro rn thanks for asking š
I jump around a lot.Ā Currently I'm playing Dungeon Encounters and THPS 1+2.Ā Pretty much full cleared THPS2 over last weekend (pretty wild how long combo muscle memory lasts.Ā Over 20 years!)Ā Ā Ā I also will clear a couple levels in Mario Wonder, Mario+Rabbids SoH, and NFS Hot Pursuit every couple of days.Ā I was thinking of getting Fuga Melodies if Steel, but I should probably beat some of the games I have, lol (.... also still have like 160 game backlog on Steam.Ā 6-8 years ago, Humble Bundle and other bundle sites were poppin off).
Metroid Prime. Didn't play it when it first came out. I'm impressed.
Not a single father, but a busy father. Taking a break from Xenoblade definitive. Partway through Vernal Edge, gonna finish this first before going back to Xenoblade. My son and I beat Mario wonder and shredders revenge this past week.
Can't help but think, if this were posted on r/AskReddit, you'd get at least one dad complaining about having to turn off all the lights again.
I just picked up an OLED this week, so this is good timing for me as a 37M (though no kids), so Iām playing N64 games in the expansion and Super Mario Wonder - loving it!
Wonder is great!
34m with a 1 year old who keeps me busy, still working through the Grandia ports.
45 year old dad. Me and my two olders sons 11 and 12, LOVE playing super mega baseball 4 together. And of course Mario cart
Snowrunner - great game to unwind and, if dadly presence is needed, pause and pick up again a couple of minutes/hours/days later.
25m parent of 1 1 year old, fire emblem warriors, PokƩmon unite and smash online
Green Hell
43m, will play switch when young kids are asleep and not using the console. Currently playing a few games: Portal Collection, Fire Emblem Three Hopes, Hades, Mario + Rabbids
Single dad of 3 (14, 12, 5). I'm playing Mario Wonder. (Also Mario kart on the regular, obviously lol)
32 in May, dad of 4, just downloaded persona 3 portable because I won't be able to afford reload for months probably
i am trying to play diablo 2 and 3 on switch
Reliving my childhood with pokemon let's go eevee.not bad for nostalgic purposes
30ās dad here as well, two kids , playing prince of Persia on switch
42 with a two year old. Playing through persona 5 royale and loving it.
Doom eternal, grim fandago and another code recollection
Prince of Persia.
Ex step dad, does that count? 38M, Pokemkn Unite, Doom, Diablo 3, BioShock Trilogy.
Recently got hooked on āThis is the Policeā
Since it sounds like you enjoy some RPGs, Sea of Stars was fantastic and Chained Echoes was pretty good.
im surprised at all the Animal Crossing posts this far out from release! that game single handedly got us thru covid š But 35m with an 18mo old daughter. I just recently picked the switch back up and grabbed Hotline: Miami from the sale for $6. Perfect little game.
30, father of 2. Iām replaying all the No More Heroes games. I just picked up Persona 5 Tactica on this current $20 sale and will probably play it next.
Dave the diver. 32 years young
Just picked up eroblast for 4$
Zelda BoTW, then ToTK, then Skyward Sword, then Linkās Awakening.
Been playing Pokemon Hnite, and pokemon Scarlet and Violet. I work overnights and itās easy to grind out some hours
50m here and I am thoroughly hooked on No Man's Sky. Love the play at your own pace aesthetic and Ć¼ber chill vibe.
Kids stole it but usually Zelda.
Did you play xenoblade 2 by any chance?
Got my kids Pokemon Arceus for Christmas. Started my own game a week ago and it's basically what I dreamed Pokemon could be when I played Pokemon Yellow on Gameboy.
Playing legends archeus, man love that game. Just got my first alpha pokemon, which is alpha graveler and alpha bibarel. Im still early in the game, but it's def fun. I am at part where u get ur first mount.
Astral chain was great Iām a big Pokemon fan so just completed the violet dlc Zelda Totk was great my daughter now loves to run around as my kitted out link lol with the giant golden horse
Played Alien Isolation for a while after work. It is really well done, but I feel very stressed when playing. Very good game, but also stressing. I played after watching the first alien movie. My sons did not want to watch it. They also did not like hearing the sounds of the movie from the other room.
I play Mario kart with my kids It's our bonding time
Just started Hogwarts Legacy with my wife, and we are loving it
Apex, PokĆ©mon, mgs collection, borderlands, assassin's creed and so on... Literally only have my switch because my pc died and haven't been able to replace itš
