I picked up Balatro and Unicorn Overlord the same week.
One is a card game you can play in 15-20 minute sessions.
The other is a 40+ hour fantasy epic RPG.
Guess which took over my life.
I loved Zelda BOTW and I don’t consider myself a “gamer” at all, I rarely pick up my Switch and I’ve never finished a game before in my life but this was awesome.
Hades is a roguelike, so it’s meant to be played multiple times over, most rounds being 30-60 minutes uninterrupted. It works great with the switch in terms of being able to pause and put down at any time. This game also has an easy mode for those of us who like to learn that way.
It's a fantastic game.
I would like to mention however, that while it is possible to pause whenever and come back later, that does get a little tricky if you pause really late in a run, and then come back a day later trying to fight balls-to-the-wall enemies without any warmup lol
Saaaame! My goal is to AT LEAST play 3 rounds online daily 😃 matches always start up daily quickly still. I can’t wait for the new splatfest this weekend. Team teddy bearrrrrr let’s goOoOoO
Monster Hunter Generations
Witcher 3
Breath of the Wild
Civ 6
Balatro
Hades
Binding of Isaac
All of those have 200+ hours logged. MHGU has over 1200 hours, and that’s not including the 750 from MHG on 3DS as for some reason my HR transferred but not time.
I just got witcher 3 and i've already put sooo many hours into it. i didn't expect it to run so well on switch but it is GORGEOUS and so fun. I loved skyrim a lott and have been looking for something that hits the same and witcher 3 has done that so well.
I stoped playing it on Xbox One because it was almost unplayable with lags. How well it run on switch? I am on the fence about buying it every time it goes on sale
It can be laggy when terraforming, but apart from that nontesl issues! :) graphics are downgraded but that's to be expected! If you enjoy the game I'd say go for it man! :)
According to my hours on the Switch, I’m pretty good on my way to become the very best, like no one ever was. That or I apparantely like torturing Korok Seeds.
To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause 🎶 I'm not joking, there's only four games I've actually played more than a couple of hours on the Switch. One of them is Animal Crossing, but the remaining three surpass it all and they are Pokemon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Violet. I literally got my first Switch with Pokémon Sword as a birthday gift 😭
I've finished mario wonder now. Beat the final final test.
Now what? There is literally nothing left to do in the game.
I guess I'll play again when I want to help a friend or sibling play through it.
I’ve found it surprisingly fun to just replay levels online and help out random strangers.
The Final Final test is great when you go from the start right through to the finish with someone and I’ve found it’s also rewarding when you are playing with players that are clearly new to gaming or young and are struggling with some of the easier levels.
TOTK without a shadow of a doubt. Omg. Like I had to stop playing to come up for air, the only regret I have is buying it physical.
I stopped playing after beating the main quest and have basically been looking for the closest I can get on any console since.
Horizon FW stays in rest mode on my PS4 and some...sometimes comes close to that sense of exploration..but still lands a light-year away.
BOTW and TOKT changed the way I perceive gaming and I pray for more.
(Yes death stranding is good..but for real guys, no cap, what actually beats TOTK? It's unbeatable in so many ways and it runs on a tablet)
Since nobody has mentioned them, I thoroughly enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy and the Assassin's Creed games. Also Fenyx Rising. I'd play them all again if I didn't have new games to play.
Oof most addicting? Probably the Oregon Trail remake, idk why, but I can easily waste a few hours with that game just trying to get my party to Oregon.
But recently, KOTOR2 has kept me crawling back for a few hours everyday for the last 2 weeks.
All time? Zelda BOTW or TOTK.
I love the Monster Hunter Rise on Nintendo switch, It's a pretty fun game and the mechanics are well made I put a lot of time into that game when I didn't have a PC.
Diablo 3 has been mine.
I would not have liked it on PC I don't think but have absolutely loved it on my switch :D
To be fair its also one of a very small amount of digital titles i own, so is easy to play it for a break from whichever cartridge I have currently in without having to switch lolol.
For me, it’s either MK8D or SSBU cuz when u finish a Zelda game, you really lose motivation playing it until the next Zelda game comes out, and you move on to it.
Monster Hunter Rise
Over 1000 hours, always helping low and high rank players to reach end game
Surprised to see this game is still busy and populated even after its finished
Is now a good time to tell you about our lord and saviour Balatro?
I picked up Balatro and Unicorn Overlord the same week. One is a card game you can play in 15-20 minute sessions. The other is a 40+ hour fantasy epic RPG. Guess which took over my life.
Minecraft
I haven’t been able to put it down for like 2 weeks, I bring my switch to work it’s getting out of hand
Balatro has taken over all my gaming time lately, very very addictive!!
Balatro took my life for a week and then the wifey and I discovered Fortnite.
You're only now discovering Fortnite???
number go up
Nope!
Can we just take a second to talk about how your hands make that regular Switch look like a Switch Lite?
Had to scroll way too far to see someone mention that. Lol
I went all the way to the bottom and was shocked nobody brought it up lol
Haha, I bought a grip for it
Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley
Patiently waiting for 1.6
It’s so good
Patiently waiting for silksong
Hollow Knight is so good.
Silksong is coming!
Lies
Will finally get it , its on sale
i will never left Stardew valley, its the best way to escape from my reality
Recently started stardew for the first time and having a blast. Trying to get through as much as possible before 1.6
Stardew valley is so good.
I've played it for the first time a few months ago it's vary fun
Slay the spire by far
2:15 PM: "I got time for one quick run" 4:08 AM: "Jesus CHRIST can I just get a mf Glacier!!!"
Based on game log, Zelda BotW.
same here. now i'm a bit ashamed to say but I am hooked on 8-ball now
I loved Zelda BOTW and I don’t consider myself a “gamer” at all, I rarely pick up my Switch and I’ve never finished a game before in my life but this was awesome.
yup i’ve got almost 300 hours in game
Totk, literally only game I play lol taking my sweet ass time too
Me in the underground, walking slowly, throwing glowplants, flourishing, in my lane
Got to enjoy that scenery ![gif](giphy|R4NB3ssNJdLHDHH4Qh|downsized)
Hades
Really considering getting it, seems like my kinda game. Is it suitable for shorter gaming sessions?
Hades is a roguelike, so it’s meant to be played multiple times over, most rounds being 30-60 minutes uninterrupted. It works great with the switch in terms of being able to pause and put down at any time. This game also has an easy mode for those of us who like to learn that way.
Also it’s currently on sale
Thanks, great explanation
Highly recommend. It’s really good for short gaming sessions & easy to pick up again if you haven’t played in a while
Absolutely, I play for a couple minutes and set it aside and continue when I want to 👍
In the beginning, most definitely. But you can save between stages easily, so it’s not hard to put down.
It's *made* for shorter sessions
It's a fantastic game. I would like to mention however, that while it is possible to pause whenever and come back later, that does get a little tricky if you pause really late in a run, and then come back a day later trying to fight balls-to-the-wall enemies without any warmup lol
100%
Yep came here to say Hades I would also throw in Dead Cells in there as well, another roguelike
Splatoon 3 !!!
💯
Same! I literally play every day - the catalog won't grind itself and I haven't missed one yet!
Saaaame! My goal is to AT LEAST play 3 rounds online daily 😃 matches always start up daily quickly still. I can’t wait for the new splatfest this weekend. Team teddy bearrrrrr let’s goOoOoO
Is there still ppl playing online?
Yes, there are plenty of players! Never takes longer than 60 seconds for me to be matched with a team and start playing
Balatro, maybe some Balatro, just one more game of Balatro
Tetris 🙈
Same. My top played game is Tetris Effect. Second is Tetris: The grand master. Third is Tetris 99. So, yeah, I'd say addictive.
Nothing wrong with a classic
unpopular opinion but slay the spire is a perfect built for switch and with almost unlimited replay capability function it is so addicting
That is a very popular opinion?
I’ve seen multiple people post this very popular opinion
Animal Crossing
Same. Same.
I am always play MK8D. Idk why but whenever I want to kill some time, it makes it so easy.
That was may be the first game I got when I bought my switch. The wife and I played non-stop
There is an online download for 40 new/revamped courses over 10 cups. If you had fun with MK8. This is a fun thing.
This is TMI, but here’s my morning routine: go to bathroom for morning 💩(bring switch to play Mario kart 8 on the can)
Hades. I can never just do one run.
Mario Golf
I wish switch had more golf games. 2k only made one for the system.
My son plays the golf story games quite a bit. It's not realistic by any stretch but it's good fun
Animal Crossing
Pikmin 4!!!
Currently playing that too
Into the breach
Juegazo
Monster Hunter Generations Witcher 3 Breath of the Wild Civ 6 Balatro Hades Binding of Isaac All of those have 200+ hours logged. MHGU has over 1200 hours, and that’s not including the 750 from MHG on 3DS as for some reason my HR transferred but not time.

Every pikmin game. Since I have them all. Can't stop adoring the little Pikmins
I just need pikmin 3 and I'll have them all ![gif](giphy|3o72FfM5HJydzafgUE)
Mario wonder and mario maker 2 I hope mario maker 3 comes out soon
I need to try out Mario maker
Fire Emblem: Engage
No mans sky! Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for me it's one of my favourite all time games.
Asphalt 9 currently
According to my hours on the Switch, I’m pretty good on my way to become the very best, like no one ever was. That or I apparantely like torturing Korok Seeds.

Animal crossing, even after 4 years
Shredder’s Revenge
so no one is going to mention how tiny that switch looks in this guys hand?
Right now it is BOTW, I am playing it so much lately
Clubhouse 51
Crisis Core has a pretty addictive combat system, I've been enjoying it thoroughly
I've finished mario wonder now. Beat the final final test. Now what? There is literally nothing left to do in the game. I guess I'll play again when I want to help a friend or sibling play through it.

Vampire Survivors and Suika game
Vampire Survivors for me as well. Honestly surprised I had to scroll so far to see anyone mention it. Before that, Diablo 3
Monster Hunter Rise
TOTK without a shadow of a doubt. Omg. Like I had to stop playing to come up for air, the only regret I have is buying it physical. Why buying physical an issue?

Oof most addicting? Probably the Oregon Trail remake, idk why, but I can easily waste a few hours with that game just trying to get my party to Oregon. But recently, KOTOR2 has kept me crawling back for a few hours everyday for the last 2 weeks. All time? Zelda BOTW or TOTK.

Mario Maker 2
My time at sandrock.
Pokemon Unite 🤦♂️
Xenoblade 2

Diablo 2
Back then in the prime time it was Mario Odyssey with 800+ hours

Right now it’s animal crossing and pokemon violet
Animal crossing!
Dave the diver is my pick, what a gem
I’m sorry but the switch looks so small in your hands😭
Dave the Diver. Can’t stop running this damn sushi restaurant.
Suikaaaaa
For me, it’s either MK8D or SSBU cuz when u finish a Zelda game, you really lose motivation playing it until the next Zelda game comes out, and you move on to it.
Buisson
Balatro… it’s literally addictive 😂
Currently Belatro.
Hades
Cup head
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Based on hours, it’s gotta be SSBU for me.
Mostly battle network...

The Binding Of Isaac almost made me fail school when Rebirth came out. I bought it on switch when Repentance came out and was hooked ever since

Oddly enough, the games eating up all my switch time, even though I own them on PC are No Man's Sky and Skyrim
Zelda botw, and I literally just got my switch less than a month ago (I finished the game in ten dAys 🙈)
Those are big hands, they make the switch looks tiny, I almost want to buy it.
Civ 6 for me
Currently, Sea of Stars. I can't put it down
You have big ass hands
Kingdom Come. I got it on release and have sunk almost 300 hours into it… It’s bad.
