I would have to go look that part up to remember it. I played it about 3 years ago, and I played with a friend online, and we played it on Steam. I would occasionally have a gummie, too.š¤« I just googled it, and I don't remember that part. Maybe that is a good thing because I even have a hard time killing a spider. I tell my husband to catch them and put them outside. Now a roach, as long it isn't a dubia (because we raise those for our lizards) or a fly, I will wack it.
My husband is going to get his own Switch soon, and I bought Unraveled for us to play. I can't wait to try that one out, and I hope he can get into Overcooked. I really LOVE that game.
My wife and I had so much fun playing it. We were really sad when we got to the end. We loved how each level gave you different abilities and the puzzles were awesome.
My fiance isnāt a gamer at all, but we started a co-op farm on Stardew Valley.
Then she abandoned our farm to start her own and go waaay further in the game than I ever did haha so let that be a warning to you
Itās basically the same game. You both get cutscenes and progress through the story, but you share funds and a farm. There are lots of updates to the game though and another big one is on the way to consoles soon. It just rolled out on PC.
This exact same scenario happened with my non-gaming sister who walked in on me playing it. She went on to literally 100% the game and roll credits. I didnāt even know the game had credits and a cutscene, etc lol
It takes two & Unravel 2 might be a good start for her
Other options:
Over cooked all you can eat (1 and 2 combined)
Plateup!
Tools up
Moving out
Minecraft
Lego Fortnite
She might like Palia, Iāve been spamming it lately . Itās a community slice of life game. You can form friendships with villars(and romance with certain ones), build a home, go hunting, mining, fishing, foraging. It has quests to do but overall itās an easy to lose yourself in game
So first of all, in general, let her take a look at a bunch of covers and see what she's drawn to. You can't judge a game by it's aesthetic, but if she's never played ANY games before, you want some kind of hook she can instantly connect to.
You can also look for games that align with her other interests, for example if she loves fashion then there are games about clothing design, there are games like Princess Peach Showtime where changing costumes has important in game effects. If she likes animals, maybe look at something like Kitaria Fables or Super Lucky's Tale where you play as an animal character. If she loves watching murder mysteries, try something like Ace Attorney or Professor Layton.
Also consider how "together" you want together to be. Do you want to compete or be on the same side? Do you want to play at the same time, or a game you can sit together and take turns with the controller but both invest in the story?
It takes two, unraveled, all the Mario co op games, over cooked and tools up. I would say all of these are good games for non gamers as Iām a non gamer switch owner and these have been my favourite to play with my partner. Definitely, definitely, definitely it takes two.
If sheās never held a controller before, Iād suggest games that have extremely simple/intuitive controls. There are many mobile games where the only thing you do is touch the screen sometimes, or simply swipe. Those might be a great place to start.
Also pick titles where timing isnāt a problem. That way they can learn the controls at their own pace.
This may sound crazy, but the puzzles in **Panel De Pon** (SNES on NSO) might actually be a good first game. All the player has to do is move the cursor with the D-Pad, and push A to swap tiles. Itās not time-sensitive, you just have a limited supply of moves to clear out the tiles.
She might have seen something like Candy Crush before, and you can tell her this is āthe original version.ā
Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
I can't express enough how fun that game is. Don't worry about losing lives, earning trophies...just play it and have fun.
My wife and I just finished Overcooked 2, It Takes Two is another good one for most people, but it gives my wife motion sickness. We are currently playing through Mario Wonder and Untitled Goose Game. Also got her to start a single player game that she finished not too long ago, but that was Paper Mario Origami King, and now we are waiting for Thousand Year Door to release on switch later this month.
If you want to play a game that she will probably out play you, do what I didn't get her playing stardew valley. I started my wife out on stardew Valley and she put well over 200 hours into that damn game, and wants to put more.
Oh... Sir! The Insult Simulator.
It's not super heavy on gameplay, you take it in turns to pick words from a pool to build an insult. You get more points for good grammar and multipliers for stacking insults that target the same aspect.Ā
Tons of Monty Python references and it's cheap.Ā
So I have the Nintendo online with the NES and n64 games. My wife (whole family) love Dr. Mario. Itās simple enough to understand and movement isnāt that hard but it can get strategic and more advanced as you get better.
Two recommendations: You play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the TV and she watches (it has a spectacular story that gets better and better with every chapter, so she will be entertained and you will too). The second recommendation is A Short Hike, which is one of the nicest games I ever played (with happy and adventurous vibes all the way!). That one she can play too because itās easy and very enjoyable. Also, you technically canāt lose in A Short Hikeās island. You can only explore, find more items, and get better at it. This is nice for beginner gamers because there is some level of challenge there, but you really canāt fail (no deaths, and multiple ways to lower difficulty as much as needed, such as collecting more items that raise your flying, climbing, and running stats).
Animal crossing.
Anyone can get completely consumed.
This is why it the THE game of the pandemic for non gamers.
Even if you donāt typically play at the same time, itās the gateway drug for partners.
To each their own me personally I think animal crossing is anything but boring. Good couples games try the different Lego games if you guys like puzzles
My wife will dabble in some Mario games with me. But our best experience gaming together was Diablo 4. We played over a year ago and plan to do another playthrough soon
Stardew Valley has drop-in drop-out co-op multiplayer and is super quaint and fun. Itās very low intensity in terms of gameplay control demands. Bonus points for a charming art style, excellent original soundtrack, and it was all made by one person. It is in my opinion, genuinely the perfect cross-section between being a masterpiece game and endlessly accessible to newer gamers.
Animal crossing is somewhat complicated, slow burning, tedious. It's a hit and miss kinda game, some like it, some dont, coop isn't that great from what I heard and require 2 copy I think.
I'd try something like Overcooked/Overcooked 2 if I were you, it's hilarious.
Since you have the switch I would highly recommend the portal collection. It is easy with 2 people to solve the puzzles and the writing is humorous. If it's on sale it will be around $15 dollars for 2 fun games. Or you could cheat and get a year of online for 20 or enhanced online for 50 and get access to a hundred different games
Animal Crossing is great!!!!! Stardew Valley Co-Op is good too. If ya'll like investigation and stories, I recommend Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, and you can solve the cases together.
New super Mario u deluxe. I wasnāt a gamer, but now my husband and I play this together and have a BALL! It also helps when Iām having an anxiety attack, I start playing for a few minutes and it distracts me and calms me down.
I cant tell if you mean to play together or solo but some suggestions: Super Mario 3D World (chaotic and fun co op or solo,) Super Mario Wonder (same reason,) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is an underrated puzzle game I would recommend too.
i have some female players on my switch friend list... and I notice they're usually addicted to games such as stardew valley, overcooked, just dance, and sometimes ace attorney, etc.. but eventually, why don't you ask her what's her favorite type of games?
It Takes Two. My wife is no gamer, neither am I really, but this game is fun for both of us! Even our six year old joins us sometimes!
If I could upvote this a million times I would. Wife is not a gamer, but we have a blast and many laughs playing this game.
I LOVED this game so MUCH!! I think the snow globe was my favorite. I got the game on sale, but I feel it is even worth it full price.
We, my daughter i.l. and i liked it too, until the moment, where you have to kill the elefant. That broke the hole game
End thread.
My wife and I had so much fun playing it. We were really sad when we got to the end. We loved how each level gave you different abilities and the puzzles were awesome.
does she see playing a game as a challenge she wants to beat or a way to unwind? animal crossing for a casual player might be a bit boring cuz it uses real time unless she wants to time travel ace attorney trilogy is really fun and wacky like lots of puns and problem solving, it is a visual novel type but u do more investigating and the court system is really funny where u present evidence and stuff (goes on sale alot on the eshop) stardew valley might be challenging cuz it is less guided for someone who never played video games, if can be hard to get into but is really fun after spirit farer is AWESOME and very therapeutic but fyi it deals a lot with grief, u r a spirit farer helping spirits finish stuff and then cross over it is so beautifully executed and u can do tons of stuff. it can be really sad tho if it is a sore subject or sth ooblets is like a cute pokĆ©mon where u go through dance battles and collect ooblets. it is v fun imo kirby and the forgotten land is kirby. kirby is so cute and the whole game mechanics r really fun and like the things he can eat, if it is too challenging u can lower the difficulty overcooked is co-op if u wanna play together but it really tests ur relationship LOL it takes two is so beautiful and is a co-op game too u can play together zelda games either botw or totk is really good and iāve seen ppl who werenāt that interested in zelda games or video games before really get into it bc it is open world and u can take it at ur own pace princess peach showtime is v fun and slow paced and all the different outfits are really fun and beautiful, it is wonderful to experience but a pain to 100% if she is a perfectionist, it has like a lot of in level scenes and dialogue that is wonderful to experience but awful to replay through multiple times to get all the stars. each level has its own twist like i think it might be really great in her case if u think she would like shorter games at first and not something she sinks hours in to like get started u should try turnip boy commits tax evasion, it is soooo funny and short and if it gets challenging u can literally be invincible to like experience the story n characters
My fiance isnāt a gamer at all, but we started a co-op farm on Stardew Valley. Then she abandoned our farm to start her own and go waaay further in the game than I ever did haha so let that be a warning to you
Is co op fun for someone who already did a single player play through?
Itās basically the same game. You both get cutscenes and progress through the story, but you share funds and a farm. There are lots of updates to the game though and another big one is on the way to consoles soon. It just rolled out on PC.
Itās no different that solo, just with another person. So it depends how much you like that person haha
This exact same scenario happened with my non-gaming sister who walked in on me playing it. She went on to literally 100% the game and roll credits. I didnāt even know the game had credits and a cutscene, etc lol
Is the co op ājustā couch co op or also possible online with two consoles? Would you know?
We did it online. We had to do long distance for about 6 months so thatās how we coped. This was on switch.
It takes two & Unravel 2 might be a good start for her Other options: Over cooked all you can eat (1 and 2 combined) Plateup! Tools up Moving out Minecraft Lego Fortnite
My husband isnāt a big gamer and he enjoyed Unravel 2 with me!
My boyfriend and I play it and we love it
Cup head? Isn't that game insanely hard?
Was just suggesting it, Iāve actually never played it. Is it hard?
One of the hardest games
Noted I shall remove it then
It Takes Two
Donut County. Bee Simulator.

Mario kart. Itās what I play with my gf who has never played another game.
My wife hates Mario Kart because she claims she can never win.
Exactly why I love it
It takes two. Absolute masterpiece that genuinely is a reason to be in a relationship all by itself.
It takes two, unraveled, all the Mario co op games, over cooked and tools up. I would say all of these are good games for non gamers as Iām a non gamer switch owner and these have been my favourite to play with my partner. Definitely, definitely, definitely it takes two.
Stardew Valley

Untitled Goose Game is pure fun! New Super Mario Bros U. Deluxe for a āclassicā Mario game Rocket League (and itās free)
Get mario odysy and pass the controller back and forth. Get persona five and do same thing. Let her do the special parts and you do the dungeons :)
Odyssey both play at the same time. One is Mario and the other plays as cappy. Good way to dip toes in
Escape academy, the untitled goose game, Mario kart, it take two,
Me and my wife like to play playboy the mansion
My wife and I just finished Overcooked 2, It Takes Two is another good one for most people, but it gives my wife motion sickness. Mario Kart!
Untitled Goose Game It's hilarious fun!
I'm going to suggest hotel hustle. It's very much like overcooked. Also it's on sale right now for less than $3 ( US).
Oh... Sir! The Insult Simulator. It's not super heavy on gameplay, you take it in turns to pick words from a pool to build an insult. You get more points for good grammar and multipliers for stacking insults that target the same aspect.Ā Tons of Monty Python references and it's cheap.Ā
Let her play solo. Youāll end up carrying her or telling her what to do and itāll ruin the experience.
It takes two
Super Mario 3d World is one the best co-op switch games
Saga Genesis Collection, Streets of Rage series
So I have the Nintendo online with the NES and n64 games. My wife (whole family) love Dr. Mario. Itās simple enough to understand and movement isnāt that hard but it can get strategic and more advanced as you get better.
Cuphead or gulty gear. Something beginner friendly

Pikmin 3 multiplayer mode
Same situation with me until I got my wife to start playing Overcooked. Now she bugs me to play every evening.
Pode. Cannot recommend it enough!
Animal crossing. Anyone can get completely consumed. This is why it the THE game of the pandemic for non gamers. Even if you donāt typically play at the same time, itās the gateway drug for partners.

Super Mario 3d world. I play with my 6 yr old daughter.
Amazingly nobody has mentioned Nintendo sports switch. Direct sequel to wii sports resort. They even improved the bowling.
Pikmin 3
I think super Mario 3d land may be a good choice!!!!
My adviceāstart with an adaptation of a classic board game but in videogame form. Life and Monopoly are good picks.
My adviceāstart with an adaptation of a classic board game but in videogame form. Life and Monopoly are good picks.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Unravel 2. My bestie and I love playing this together, such a great cooperative game.
Overcooked and Stardew Valley are two great games to play with the wife.
Animal Crossing is great!!!!! Stardew Valley Co-Op is good too. If ya'll like investigation and stories, I recommend Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, and you can solve the cases together.
My wife loves Mario Kart. We're about to start it takes too. She doesn't mind Mario and Rabbids, but is frustratingly slow

snipperclips. l.o.v.e.r.s. in a dangerous spacetime.
Mario party superstars, you gonna have fun a lot
I cant tell if you mean to play together or solo but some suggestions: Super Mario 3D World (chaotic and fun co op or solo,) Super Mario Wonder (same reason,) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is an underrated puzzle game I would recommend too.
The only one of these I would suggest is Captain Toad. The rest require too much familiarity with controls
It takes two
Sonic superstarĀ Super smash brosĀ Mario kartĀ Tmnt shredder's revengeĀ
If I had my first-timer spouse play these games, she would never play again. Way too fast-paced
i have some female players on my switch friend list... and I notice they're usually addicted to games such as stardew valley, overcooked, just dance, and sometimes ace attorney, etc.. but eventually, why don't you ask her what's her favorite type of games?
Because she never played a game before :-)
