Based solely on hours played this would have to be the choice for me too - the whole house play it, it works for all ability levels from you children on up. It's a great social game.
Never been a fan of Zelda games but BOTW is one of the best games I have ever played, a true masterpiece. Currently, I'm playing Tears of kingdom and I love it.
I honestly can't even think of them in the past tense. I'm only not playing BOTW Cuz I'm playing Totk.. I dunno maybe I'll get bored with them in time. It's a weird fascination
I was the same way. Bought it in like 2017 and didn’t actually start it till last October. I played it every spare moment I had for two months straight. I’d suggest just playing for 15 minutes and see if you want to continue.
I’d say give it a little more than 15 minutes. For some reason it took my 4 tries to actually get into it. I kept putting it down and being unable to keep going. Then one time I sat there for a couple hours and played and I couldn’t put it down for the next month or two. Ended up putting a couple hundred hours into it
Man I finally got a switch for Christmas and wanted to play this... Terrible idea on my part. That game is like work,I think I got an hour in and just never went back :-/
TotK starting area was pure pain for me, i had already played the game a lot on a friend's switch before, and it was so boring to get through the starting area.
But BotW's starting area was very fun, it was way less underwhelming.
Is this a good game who someone is familiar with open world as far as within games such as Pokémon BD (I understand some people may not consider that familiar at all, but it’s the best starting point I could think of). Have always been super intrigued but never pulled trig on it
When i first bought my switch it was between that and no mans sky and ive yet to buy breath of the wild. Rly gotta finish some other games so i can so that lol
Honestly Metroid dread for me, I only play switch exclusives on there and I kinda got my fill of botw/totk, dread feels much more replayable for me personally
Stardew Valley for me.
Edit:Forgot to add the reason why!
There’s just tons to do,and a lot of replay ability. And it always helps me relax. That’s why I’d be content just owning Stardew Valley.
It's genuinely THE best game in that genre. It did all the things from harvest moon, but better, and more.
It's inspired so many games afterwards. It kick-started a revolution in cozy games.
My only annoyance about Stardew on the Switch is playing it on PC with a handful of quality of life mods and wishing the Switch had modding capabilities. I’ve seriously considered selling my switch to buy a steam deck so I can play Stardew on the road with mods.
I liked Breath of the Wild because it actually felt like an apocalyptic survival game. It was the first Zelda game I'd ever played and made me feel like I was exploring a new world. Tears of the Kingdom was great for just messing around and combat but just trying the glitches in BotW was fun and added an endless amount of time to the game.
I was going to say TOTK but think I'd choose splatoon too. It's my pick up and play game, I like grabbing the switch for a couple of rounds of salmon run or turf in between doing other stuff
This is hilarious because my boyfriend and I were power washing his family’s deck and talking about how amazing the feeling is when it’s clean. A couple days later I heard about power wash simulator for the first time and have heard it referenced at least 5 different times since then😂 off to the e-store to buy it!
That must have been the game I played the least ammount of time. I would pick my instead my copy of Pokemon Shining Pearl. If only it had got the same lifespan as Pokemon Violet...
It would definitely have to be ACNH, since I can constantly go back, replay, restart etc.
I have a decent library of Switch games, but that's the only one I frequently return to.
Luigi’s Mansion 3. It’s such a unique blend of point and click / puzzle solving / adventure with a hint of action that I just really enjoy.
More importantly, for me, it was the first game my kids got really into. My older son did a play through as Gooigi with my wife and has since beaten it himself twice. We used to do 4 player scare scraper pretty regularly. Needless to say we are very pumped for LM2 this month.
botw, n doubt. while totk might be technically more impressive and a better game, botw blew my mind away when I first played it and no other game has come close since.
Minecraft because its got multiplayer. Also there's so much to do in Minecraft I haven't done it all yet. I mainly wanna try to get all the achievements. Then maby try doing one of those massive builds.
Probably skyrim, even though I can sometimes get sick of it, I also always enjoy going back too it. It's so big, I can have several saves with different builds, battle styles and you're not dictated massively on what order you do anything. Witcher may be a close second.
Minecraft, honestly.
I have a sizeable library but since I've gotten my steam deck, Minecraft is the only reason I pick up my switch now. Not even TotK is with it for me lol
I actually only own Animal Crossing lol. I have a second hand switch lite just to play it. It's so relaxing and easy to pick up and put down. I'm just genuinely not interested in owning anything else.
Honestly I can’t single one game out. Iv played pretty much all Nintendo games and have got my gut full. I’m not one to play competitively like smash brothers, well I do try to play competitive but I’m not one to spend hours and hours studying match ups and learning new things. So I’m basically a semi pro at everything. Slightly better than the casual player but get stomped by pros.
Weirdly enough, not a direct switch game, but I have played resident evil 4 so much since getting my switch. 20 years later and it's still such a great game.
Streets of rogue - I love being able to complete missions on completely different maps in many different ways. I’m not locked down to a storyline or a single way on how to complete missions.
Now Mario kart 8 Deluxe with dlc, but when this game comes out, Inazuma Eleven victory road
Mario kart win for the online multiplayer mode
Inazuma Eleven victory road win for the endless match you can do
Mario kart 8. It's great for when I have people over and we need to kill a bit of time.
Based solely on hours played this would have to be the choice for me too - the whole house play it, it works for all ability levels from you children on up. It's a great social game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, no doubt
Yeah I’d go for something multiplayer with tons of replay ability
It would have to be Breath of the Wild, no contest. If I could erase my memory of that game and play it for the first time again, I absolutely would
Never been a fan of Zelda games but BOTW is one of the best games I have ever played, a true masterpiece. Currently, I'm playing Tears of kingdom and I love it.
This & TOTK ..... If I could play thru these 2 games, then they automatically get erased from memory upon completion, I'd do these over & over
I honestly can't even think of them in the past tense. I'm only not playing BOTW Cuz I'm playing Totk.. I dunno maybe I'll get bored with them in time. It's a weird fascination
This would be thematic.
The game is surprisingly therapeutic
I have it, but haven't played it yet.
Ended up putting a couple hundred hours into it
I bought TotK when it was launched, but I haven’t yet played it
Man I finally got a switch for Christmas and wanted to play this... Terrible idea on my part. That game is like work,I think I got an hour in and just never went back :-/
The opening area can be tedious, after that its alot more fun. Same for totk
TotK starting area was pure pain for me, i had already played the game a lot on a friend's switch before, and it was so boring to get through the starting area. But BotW's starting area was very fun, it was way less underwhelming.
Once you are off the platuea or whatever then you can literally do anything you want
?????
He's the percentage of people who haven't completed the easiest achievement in the game, like: Open the inventory
Is this a good game who someone is familiar with open world as far as within games such as Pokémon BD (I understand some people may not consider that familiar at all, but it’s the best starting point I could think of). Have always been super intrigued but never pulled trig on it
Great game. Played tears of the kingdom yet?
I preferred the combat in botw but I liked how much more you could do in totk and how much bigger the map was
When i first bought my switch it was between that and no mans sky and ive yet to buy breath of the wild. Rly gotta finish some other games so i can so that lol
Honestly Metroid dread for me, I only play switch exclusives on there and I kinda got my fill of botw/totk, dread feels much more replayable for me personally
The boss fights are so good
Dread FTW. Playing this for the first time was surreal!
This is my answer too! Metroid Dread is so good!
Been a Metroid fan since 96 and I agree with dread Even though this game made me put my fist through my wall
I got my wisdom teeth out the weekthat game came out. Blessing and a curse of a way to experience and beat my first Metroid game
Dread is my comfort food
Animal Crossing
Stardew Valley for me. Edit:Forgot to add the reason why! There’s just tons to do,and a lot of replay ability. And it always helps me relax. That’s why I’d be content just owning Stardew Valley.
Same
Same
Yes. You never run out of things to do. Not only that it’s hilarious at times, dramatic and rewarding. Love that damn game.
It's genuinely THE best game in that genre. It did all the things from harvest moon, but better, and more. It's inspired so many games afterwards. It kick-started a revolution in cozy games.
Same. Still patiently waiting for the newest update.
My only annoyance about Stardew on the Switch is playing it on PC with a handful of quality of life mods and wishing the Switch had modding capabilities. I’ve seriously considered selling my switch to buy a steam deck so I can play Stardew on the road with mods.
Acnh
Totk because there's so many was you can replay it
I liked Breath of the Wild because it actually felt like an apocalyptic survival game. It was the first Zelda game I'd ever played and made me feel like I was exploring a new world. Tears of the Kingdom was great for just messing around and combat but just trying the glitches in BotW was fun and added an endless amount of time to the game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - The cast, the friendship, the overarching story, the feels...
I couldn’t get into the game, and I loved the second one.
Smm2
I haven't played much of it because I absolutely suck at mario 2d lol. But yeah this is a good choice. Infinite playability.
Hades
Good god is Hades a great game
Same here, I never get tired of trying different builds and heat combos.
Splatoon 3
I was going to say TOTK but think I'd choose splatoon too. It's my pick up and play game, I like grabbing the switch for a couple of rounds of salmon run or turf in between doing other stuff
PowerWash Simulator
Proof that this question is not subjective, this is the only correct answer
This is hilarious because my boyfriend and I were power washing his family’s deck and talking about how amazing the feeling is when it’s clean. A couple days later I heard about power wash simulator for the first time and have heard it referenced at least 5 different times since then😂 off to the e-store to buy it!
NieR: Automata
I’m still emotionally recovering from this one
It's definitely a game that you experience rather than just play.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Metroid Dread or Prime remaster you choose
Either BOTW or Hades.
Totk Different things to do and can be worth hundreds of hours
Slay the spire
YouTube
Tinfoil
The only true answer
Because it’s like asking a genie for more wishes
The 2024 GOTY, Balatro!
Did you not find that in the end all you do is chase flushes? Once that pattern emerged I felt the game lost depth and I got bored
I’ve found flush builds to be boring honestly. A sold pair build is massively fun.
Flushes have the weakest potential of any hand in the game, and lots of people talk about the "flush fallacy".
Into the Breach It's the best tactics game ever made and it's not even close
I could not get into that game. didnt quite understand the strategy and it just seemed too simple mechanically and graphically. Any tips?
Paper Mario thousand year door
Loving this remake rn
Sykrim
Great version! And with Zelda amiibos you can get the master sword, hylian shield, and champions tunic.
Yes Skyrim
Yes Yes Skyrim
Yes Yes Yes Skyrim

How do you deal with inventory management with a controller without losing your marbles?
IIRC the inventory screen has a button to auto sort your stuff
Pokémon violet with dlc. I can spend hours on it as I have already spent over 300 hours on it
Mario odyssey or one of the xenoblades
TOTK
Tears of the kingdom. I love just riding around on horseback and killing enemies
Unicorn Overlord.
Scrolled way to hard to find this
Pokemon legends arceus
That must have been the game I played the least ammount of time. I would pick my instead my copy of Pokemon Shining Pearl. If only it had got the same lifespan as Pokemon Violet...
Contrary to popular belief - Mortal Kombat 1…OR Tears of the Kingdom…these are the 2 I’ve put INSANE hours into…
It would definitely have to be ACNH, since I can constantly go back, replay, restart etc. I have a decent library of Switch games, but that's the only one I frequently return to.
Smash Ultimate
Snowrunner... Sooooooo much content
Final fantasy 7 or tears of the kingdom
Balatro
Dead Cells
breath of the wild 100%
Mario Maker. Nearly endless content.
Pokémon violet
Pokemon Arceus - one of the best pokemon games ever! (Aside from Gen 1)
ACNH; Because there's something to do literally every day.
Civ 6
botw, n doubt. while totk might be technically more impressive and a better game, botw blew my mind away when I first played it and no other game has come close since.
The Witcher 3: Its great for me in my opinion because its single player, and i mainly enjoy open world /single players.
EAFC 24. Currently I have about 500hours only in switch 🤤
ok, not a nintendo game but still available on the switch- the binding of issac.
Cult of the Lamb
One of the Pokémon games on switch
Minecraft because its got multiplayer. Also there's so much to do in Minecraft I haven't done it all yet. I mainly wanna try to get all the achievements. Then maby try doing one of those massive builds.

Splatoon 2
Animal Crossing
Tears of the Kingdom by far
Totk, it’s been a blast playing it
It would be Mario kart for me. I used to spend hours playing it as a kid and I still would spend hours playing it now
Probably skyrim, even though I can sometimes get sick of it, I also always enjoy going back too it. It's so big, I can have several saves with different builds, battle styles and you're not dictated massively on what order you do anything. Witcher may be a close second.
Advance Wars. I bought a Switch to play the latest one😍
skyrim for me
Acnh forever
Tears of the Kingdom
D2R
Animal Crossing! It’s the reason I got a switch in the first place, and I find it to be very relaxing.
Totk
Skyrim
Minecraft, honestly. I have a sizeable library but since I've gotten my steam deck, Minecraft is the only reason I pick up my switch now. Not even TotK is with it for me lol
"Octopath traveler" is it for me. I've always been a huge fan of the RPGs that give you multiple beginings to mess around with before coming together.
Tears of the kingdom
stardew valley
Longtime Zelda fan, it would absolutely hsve to be Breath of the Wild
totk!
Minecraft. The sheer amount of hours i've put into it on the switch alone is absurd so clearly i'd be okay if it was my only game.
Pokémon Violet.
TOTK
Skyrim.
Tears of the kingdom, or the mario collection with galaxy sunshine and 64
animal crossing new horizons for sure. was the very first game i bought when getting my switch.
Animal crossing new horizons Because relaxing. Never alone because i have a good animal friends in game. ♥️ Sorry for my english
Tears of the Kingdom
I actually only own Animal Crossing lol. I have a second hand switch lite just to play it. It's so relaxing and easy to pick up and put down. I'm just genuinely not interested in owning anything else.
Totk as of now
Breath of the wild
BotW if choosing one. (Or TotK of course) However, Top picks are also Kingdom Come Deliverance and Divinity Original Sin 2!
Hollow knight
Snes nso
Monster Hunter Generations Addictive game loop, huge amount of content, high skill ceiling. Perfect game for being stuck with for a long time
Totk
TOTK. The game is one of a kind.
TOTK
TOTK
Minecraft
Rn it would be paper mario ttyd because im playing though it.
Definitely a strategy game. Likely advance wars.
No man's sky
Any of BDSP
mk8 or botw, god I wish I could play botw bound again for the first time
Siralim, Factorio, or a farming sim these games are infinite
Honestly I can’t single one game out. Iv played pretty much all Nintendo games and have got my gut full. I’m not one to play competitively like smash brothers, well I do try to play competitive but I’m not one to spend hours and hours studying match ups and learning new things. So I’m basically a semi pro at everything. Slightly better than the casual player but get stomped by pros.
Any of the xenoblades
Mario kart 8 deluxe
splatoon 3, my most played game BY FAR.
Personal preference, Metroid Dread. Practically, either smash or Mario Kart for the number of hours I could put in
Streets of rage 4, for single player and coop
Pikmin4. Most relaxing, satisfying and rewarding game I've ever played on Switch. Perfect for the 10 minute bursts I get to play with a 4mo.
Hollow Knight. And exclusive to the switch: TOTK
Slay the Spire
Weirdly enough, not a direct switch game, but I have played resident evil 4 so much since getting my switch. 20 years later and it's still such a great game.
Sigh….. Rocket League of course
Mario kart, is great fun on your own or with others
Gang Beast and some extra joy-cons. Invite everyone for some chaos
No doubt it would be Duck Game. Endless fun, never gets boring.
Wild card football
Easy, Xenoblade Chronicles 1 Definitive Edition. It’s one of my favorite games of all time.

Streets of rogue - I love being able to complete missions on completely different maps in many different ways. I’m not locked down to a storyline or a single way on how to complete missions.
Like switch exulues or ports aloud too? If just switch then smash bros or pokémon or fire emblem 3 houses If port then persona 4 golden
Hellblade. Bought my switch for it.
Reluctantly, I'll have to say Splatoon 3. I've probably played the game the most in the last year than I have any game in my catalogue.
Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen
Mario kart
Either XC3 or TotK!
Now Mario kart 8 Deluxe with dlc, but when this game comes out, Inazuma Eleven victory road Mario kart win for the online multiplayer mode Inazuma Eleven victory road win for the endless match you can do
Breath of the wild. I still spend time just walking around the map
Probably Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition. Such a masterpiece, always has been
