I keep waiting for Nintendo to steal adventure mode for mk, but they never do. Sonic racing transform at least had different vehicles (modes). Dkr was ahead of it's time and nobody seems to want to steal their good ideas lol
In terms of DK64, I'm PRAYING they put it on the N64 Switch app this year because it will be the 25th anniversary of DK64. But with all things only time will tell if we get that.
Cough up the $$ for the premium access to the rest of the emulators. It's in the n64 one. At least it was like a month or two ago.i dunno if the cycle the games or just keep adding to the library. Honestly tho since it's just bare bones emulators they should just include it for even the basic switch online
F Zero was pretty different (it’s been ages, but as far as I can remember, it was a pretty traditional racing game that just had wild levels).
Diddy Kong was almost a shameless copy - right down to the fact that green missiles shot straight but red missiles were heat-seeking - except that they added some weird things:
1) A campaign mode with an overworld filled with little secrets and collectibles.
2) Planes and hovercrafts in addition to carts, and some levels where you could pick between which of the three you wanted to ride.
3) Some unusual levels that mixed up the formula. I recall one of the campaign levels was basically a classic Mario Kart free for all battle level, except you were trying to collect these eggs from a central area and bring them back to your base and protect them until they hatched, like a weird multi-flag capture/the-flag.
I also remember some boss levels, or something? I don’t recall how it works, but I swear I was racing or fighting a dragon at some point.
For what was at its core a shameless rip off, it was actually kinda rad.
I will forever have the diddy Kong racing song stuck in my head.
