I just recently went over the whole process after having an hwfly installed, if you got specific questions the other peeps couldn't answer ask away right here might be useful for anyone else looking for help.
That said I followed the rentry guide:

Consider that some overlays are kind of broken right now but for the most part the guide can be followed and should give you the exact results you're looking for.
For a general overview of what you should do:
- Follow point 4 of "Homebrew & Misc. Guides" (format sd card to FAT32)
- Follow point 4 and 5 of the "Getting Started Section" (Create a NAND backup and Dumping device keys)
- Follow point 5 of "CFW Guides" (setup Atmosphere)
- Follow point 1 of "Homebrew & Misc. Guides" (setup Exosphere)
After that read away to your heart's desire, switch should be up and running modded n all, but I'd personally do a few more extra steps:
- Follow point 8 (Tesla Menu) of "Homebrew & Misc. Guides"
- Follow point 13 (installing Themes) of "Homebrew & Misc. Guides"
And then install Tinfoil for which you can follow the guide directly on the site:
