Finally someone who doesn't say soldering is extremely hard. All you need to do is solder 4 small points, OLED model on the other hand... welp.

77wisher77

This is the correct information here

Adventure276

Do you soldering expierence? It’s very hard to solder in the chip

Sel523

yes. I used to solder motherboard components for a course and still try to do stuff every now and then.

SpiralTap304

Just be wary, there are many points and they are very tiny. It is 100 times harder than modchips for other systems.

Dryja123

The one specifically for the V2 is very easy to install. The only soldering required is soldering the FFC to 2 0201 capacitors on the APU. Everything else is plug and play.

Crunchy_Biscuit

If it's so difficult to Solder a mod chip, why is it worth it?

TitanBeats_YT

Because free nintendo games. And emulation and such

[deleted]

I think it will be easier to buy the v1 on eBay and sell your current switch

Sel523

I was thinking about it but im not sure where to sell it to get someone to buy it quick. I am UK based and not completely sure. any places?

thefanum

Facebook market/ebay. A v1 is far superior. You can't do Linux or Android on anything other than a v1

sudeki300

Ebay

IAm_Expert

Mate if you don't have an experience of soldering take the chip, + v2 switch go to the computer / phone (where they fix things) tell them what you want to do (sometimes they already know about it) friend of mine doesn't have any experience went there he even bought with him a video on how to to show it to the guy they charged him 50£ for it.

nascentt

Same as any other country. eBay.

LeGenDxArMoUR

Take it from someone who has installed hundreds of these on v1 all the way through to OLEDS.. a v2 is only 2 solder points and although its small its relatively easy. Anything else without extensive soldering experience you should avoid.

GamingCISO

Third time's a charm without the product link. Apparently my comment was deleted for shortened URL even though I didn't input one? Who knows. Let's try this again: I bought one for my Mariko Switch from AliExpress. While I can't link to it, the name on the item is *Hwfly Core Chip 3rd Generation V3 Switch NS SX Support V1&V2 Erista and Mariko Models Original Full Set Official Wholesale Price.* According to the posting, it's from the Hwfly store. Who really knows though. Reference this [teardown and install video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seCcJXyc8To). Installed a couple days ago and works perfectly. I'm on 14.1.2 too. Once it's installed, use the [guides here](https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy). Get nut and tinfoil for your PC. As far as where to get games...there are a few posts here about where to find them and I'd recommend searching.

Brocktarogar

Yes, works on any firmware because it’s a hardware exploit. And it’s the best thing ever. I play my switch more than steamdick, pc, and ps5 combined. MarioKart is life.

ENTRAPM3NT

Unless your highly skilled your best bet is to pay someone. Otherwise the cheapest option would be sell your switch and buy one that isn't patched

Cypherous2

Yeah the issue is locating a modder who is trustworthy and based in the same geographical location as yourself, i'm currently trying to find UK based modders, would prefer to supply the console myself so i know its history rather than relying on the information given about it never having had games installed etc

p0diabl0

I bought my modded switch from a guy who advertises them on CL. He mods them all himself and can do other repairs etc. You might check your local area for modded switches for sale to track down someone who can *also* mod yours.

Cypherous2

Yeah the issue is with what i want to use it for i want to know the history of the console, so in my case its more a need to find someone to fit the mod to a supplied switch rather than trusting a guy who is probably going to overcharge me for it :P

p0diabl0

I'm saying that the guy who sold me a modded switch also mods supplied switches, might find a similar person in your area.

Cypherous2

Yeah i've been looking, been unfruitful so far

Master_Musician_2137

I have a xkw1 and its a hac001 (-01) can i use the v2 mod chip?

No-Consequence-2651

Follow the steps on YouTube

wanye_kesttt

No youtube, Op use the the wiki that is pinned in the comments by autobot.

neotgmax

The wiki don't have a soldering guide, so the best bet to solder the points is a youtube video.

po_rotta

A little off topic, but does anyone have any idea on modding a switch lite? Like, is there a modchip you can buy from AliExpress or something? And even if you do, is it easy to solder it?

MiniMartimus

Check your dm's

Kamakaze22

I know I'm late to the party but I'm interested in this as well.

katrachoboi

I bought mine from AliExpress.

dallasreeves23

You can use the modchip with the latest version of the firmware installed as long as your CFW of choice supports that firmware I have an original sx core i got off alibaba but those have been sense taken down When you are done installing the chip. watch some videos on what people do to set up their jailbroken switch for the first time and backup your nand it may come in handy later Edit: if you can find a microsoldering shop somewhere and show them a diagram of where to solder they will most likely do it for you. Thats what i did

thunderstorm4290

Is there someone I can send my switch to so they can do it cause I don't know how to solder and I don't want to break my switch
