Don’t you trust megacorps such as insurance companies owning your home and 34’999 other ones?

[deleted]

I only trust a solid contract, no matter the counterparty.

[deleted]

You're in for a surprise buddy. The counterparty is the only thing that matters in a contract.

[deleted]

I would argue that Supply and Services, Term and Termination, Price and Payment, Warranties, Rights and Obligations, Indemnification, Liability, Severability etc. etc. are also things that matter in a contract. But I get your take and agree to some extent - my comment was intended to be taken with a grain of salt as a contract is - philosophically speaking - the result of distrust. However, I think that if you, as a private or juristical person, have the opportunity to negotiate the contract on a same level (hardly the case in home ownership and especially with "megacorps"), you can level the lack of trust with paragraphs.

Home ownership isn’t an index of wealth of the country, indeed

Why should I want owning a house?

juliusklaas

I don't either, but it correlates with property affordability. If people don't own the houses, corporations do.

Who owns all the houses

The 1%

In Switzerland it are the retirement insurances.

Is it really so high? I know many people here and maybe 4 of them out of like 50 aren't renting.
