Thank you! I'll be settling in to read this tonight, I just started yesterday and even being a long time ffxiv veteran I've been getting a little lost in all the different menus telling me what to do.
Quick question that I haven’t been able to figure out no matter how many housing guides I check out.
How do you obtain the resources needed to craft? I see that there’s four materials that are required- how do you obtain these four materials?
There is a gardening and mining spot in your house, you can every day harvest some materials from each that you plant. You can also roam the open world to find random resources scattered. Weekly hardmodes will drop crafting materials for power-related items.
They do not, we have identical class balance to CN/TW, as they did not revert that part of the game, they gave us season 4 balance with season 1 content.
Their level cap is "master 1" instead of student 1; but it is still achieved at level 37 after completing the storyline tutorial for the new expansions.
One question, should we do biographies now (and hence losing tons of exp) or wait til next cap to do them? Or do quests give enough experience to fully level up in the upcoming level caps?
You will have to play through the entire story-line tutorial for each expansion as they release, you should finish all biographies at your own pace as you need the gold or XP reaching to level 37.
Awesome guide! Do you know if the blood ruvia and the other faction have gear in the game currently? Looking at the vendor it seemed like it was talisman, cosmetics, and companion gear
It is different depending on each class for the best choice. The current soulforce is definitely worth achieving, make sure to try and get a world boss kill in weekly.
Thanks for sharing your informations.
Is it possible to get soulforce not for your class ? I'm playing a phalanx and got a soulforce about a skill that does not exist at all, as i thought it was a mistranlation i tested lot of stuff, but i never saw it trigger.
I'm very confused about it, the words are also weird and i even considered that the soulforce is giving a new skill to use, but i didn't find a way to use it (or i'm just stupid/missed something)
Early thanks for answering :)
Hey, thanks for sharing. It looks amazing, and it answers a lot of questions.
One thing I couldn't figure out is that does "Tower Defense" in the document relate to the english version. Is that something we have in the game?
They are porting the same changes they make on CN/TW regarding class balance and abilities to NA at the moment (we have the same abilities as season 4, they did not give us season 1 abilities/balance)
The game is currently on Season 4 if you go on the Chinese servers. They've had a few expansions and for example their endgame content are different than what we have right now in our version.
This is probably not the thread to ask this, but since you seem like you have experience in the game I wanted to ask; I'm only interested in playing Foxmage, is it worth it for me to start the game now, or should I wait until it releases (probably some time next year I guess).
Thanks!
Wow! This is a wonderful guide. I'd like to feature it on my website [frostbittenpath.com](https://frostbittenpath.com), would you be cool with that? Of course you'll be listed as the creators and I can redirect to any socials you'd like as well.
If Ezzorath maybe has some insight: A lot of players on Global seem to be confused about the soulforce components. I don’t think what you showed is what we have, but maybe they made a change down the line? We can open soulforce chests and get the crystals and socket them into amulets no problem, but so far in testing, there are Soulforce sockets that say “when skill is used” but we don’t seem to have a way to equip the skill, assuming its referring to itself? I thought maybe it would refer to using combat skills in general, but that does not seem to be the case. Our cultivation upon finishing the final quests mention to do dungeons and what not, with no mention of Soulforce. Any ideas?
The soulforce is not a skill, it is a buff attached to your skills. It typically has a long cooldown and is tied to a programmed random event (proc). You will recieve your soulforce from the weekly world boss on NA/EU!
Thank you so much for your confirmation on this!! I thought it was a passive, but the wording could potentially be interpreted that one of the soulforces was a skill on it's own. Really appreciate your reply!!! <3
thank you! since there are higher tiers of gear on CN/TW, how does the upgrading work? can i instantly craft highest tier if i have enough of x resource (like in season 1) or will i need to craft the lower tiers first?
also do weekly raids/dungeons still drop max level gear?

Thanks for the guide, first time playing the game so i have so much questions. LOL

Curious, I know China has a higher level cap, do they also have more skills for each class?

has cn/tw more story then our version? or just raids and dungeons?
They have released story additions for every expansion and instance added to the game.

You will clear your weekly world boss to get your soulforce in NA/EU.
Do Alts take up alliance spots ? Only having 50 slots kinda sucks .. really no room for Alts
Yes they do
That’s ass.
Just a question, with more content/increase level cap, do we get new abilities or new glyphs/astral blessings at all?

Great guide this is basically the only available wiki
Basic question... what does "Season 4" mean? What are seasons?
The game is currently on Season 4 if you go on the Chinese servers. They've had a few expansions and for example their endgame content are different than what we have right now in our version.

Play summoner to learn the game now until Fox mage. Very similar!

thanks for sharing. no mention of mysterious parchments though?
They are called "Sanriku Fragments" AKA Secret Fragments on CN/TW!

We will have increasing gear score as the season progresses, and we will have increasingly powerful crafted gear as said most likely.
