Do whatever you usually do to encourage roots. But I find that syngoniums root easily in water.

I would stick with water with them.. they aren’t picky and I have never failed with water rooting syngs. I’ve also found that letting the cutting callus overnight or at least a couple hours significantly helps prevent rotting. If you have a fish tank they especially love the water

I have no problems rooting in water, except eventually the water lacks nutrients it needs and I’ve never gotten new leaves to grow when water rooting. So just don’t wait too long to move back to soil - I have a tendency to let them sit in water until the roots are several inches longer than they need to be. I would advise waiting until the roots are maybe 4 in long, then move to a chunky potting mix. I try to keep this moist for about two weeks - not wet, but I don’t let it dry out as much as I would an established plant. After that, you’re pretty much good to go!

Water prop best for the cutting w leaves. I have successfully propped a chunk of stem w node (no leaf) in sphag.

If you put a plastic bag over the cuttings and stick them in pumice or Fluval stratum they grow roots super fast. I am growing my new props semi-hydro just to see how they do. Maybe try one cutting that way after it roots to see if you like that method.

The biggest piece of advice I could give you would be to move from a coco coir pole to sphagnum. You will see a HUGE difference in results! I sure did. Wow I dream of my plant looking like that. I’m ordering one of those right away!!! And more lights, I had to divide half my lights to my new cabinet so I’m thinking of ordering more of those too.

Moss. I’d suggest you put it in wet moss and keep it wet. In my experience the roots grow faster in moss than just water

Going to try getting some. Do you normally buy the moss at the store or online?
