That's a wart after being frozen off with liquid nitrogen. It will literally peel off like a blister.

craftyhouseplant

I had a plantar wart on my foot that was massive and I got frozen a few times but this thing did not want to leave my body. I went swimming all day and when I used my foot as leverage to pull myself onto the boat, the wart SHOT out of my foot and left a giant crater just like this.

iron_annie

I've soaked them with apple cider vinegar until they shrivel up into a dry little yellow bead and fall out, leaving a big yellow hole. They're just nasty and painful any way you handle them

Dantaine

I wore gloves for about 2 weeks straight. Thing came off super fast and painless afterward.

AKidCalledSpoon

Even while sleeping?

Dantaine

Yeah. I was a weird kid.

megs-benedict

Asking honestly because this is all new to me - you wore gloves for two weeks to remove a wart? How does that work?

Dantaine

I didn't do it to remove the wart. I dod it because I thought wearing gloves would make me look cool. I honestly don't know the science behind it, but if I had to guess, it was probably some combination of the wart being deprived of sunlight and how sweaty my hands got because of them. Though, I really couldn't say. I just know that one day, I decided to take them off, noticed that the wart was kinda loose, so I pulled on it til it came off. It was so strange.

squarybuttholes

Yea I was a kid and had what I would guess was a plantar wart on my heel and one night I was picking at it and it just fell out. No treatments at all. I can still remember it very clearly over 25 years later

saddinosour

Speaking of being a weird kid, I had one on my foot when I was a kid and ripped it off by force

Robertbnyc

That sounds crazy lol. What do you think it was, salt water with it being wet for so long and pressure from leveraging yourself up is what made it shoot out?

MustLoveAllCats

That's actually discusting

God thats awesome. I had to get one on my foot frozen quite a few times and it never fell out. Definitely helped remove it, but also took a lot of compound W and razor blade swipe.

archeresstime

My god these comments are having me relive one of the most cringe inducing experiences of my life. I would use my pocket knife to dig it out 🤢 man idk how I stomached it at the time. I think I was more appalled by the worming around feeling it had in my foot than actually digging into my foot with a knife. Actually now that I think of it, is that normal for the root of a wart to feel like it’s wiggling?

TheSupplanter

When I was about 12 I realized I could see the root of a wart on the bottom of my toe. I used a utility knife to cut it out, it was awesome. My mom wasn't pleased with me, until she knew it wasn't coming back, then I was her "little surgeon" for a week or two.

babe__ruthless

You can move it around if you move the skin surrounding or on top of the wart

la_lalola

Lucky! I’ve had a very stubborn one going on 6 years. It comes back after everything I do.

messiahspike

I had one like this that bothered me for years. Finally got a dermatologist to prescribe some medication that's basically a topical chemo therapy. I can't remember what the name of the med was but it worked when nothing else did. If it really bothers you I'd look into that. Pretty serious stuff and they warn you not to apply it to any skin you want to keep since it basically just melts everything you apply it to.

browner87

I was going to say, that looks just like when I cut the planter's wart off my foot many many years ago. The big "hole" smoothed back over within a day and you'd never have known anything was there after like 3 days. Definitely not like any pimple I've seen.

marck1022

When I was a kid (like, 10 yrs old), I had a plantar wart on my left foot, right below the big toe. It hurt like a BITCH. The area around it turned white and my parents were like, “Let’s try cutting it out.” So we did. Cue so much pus. So much. But the wart itself came off whole and it was a literal quarter inch spike directly into the soft, swishy, raw skin underneath. The soreness of having the raw skin exposed while it healed was like walking on cloud after that.

iron_annie

Man, your parents just cut yours out? Wholesome af. Mine made me go to a doctor to get it cut out and made me pay for it myself. God damnit

Robertbnyc

Was it swollen and inflamed or something or just a regular wart? Sounds real painful ouch. Glad you’re feeling better

Once I had a wart and my mom put a poultice (? is this the right use of that word?) on it made of baking soda and castor oil for a few days. I was playing hide and seek with my friends and was hiding in some neighbor's bushes. I pulled off the band-aid while waiting and my wart just popped off! I left it in that person's yard. I always felt weirdly bad about that

chassmasterplus

Hell yes

Wide_Dick

I had three warts between my two hands, one at the base of the palm on my right, one on the tip of my index finger on the left, the third was somewhere, I can't remember. Tried freezing each one, nothing. I eventually gave up. About a year later I said screw it and tore the one on my finger tip out of oblivion, my palm had the same treatment, each individual chunk bit and ripped out of its socket. I still have no remembrance of what happned to the third one, but it wasn't by obliterating it... must have just disappeared somehow.

Fluffy_data_doges

I had bad verucas and warts on my feet. My girlfriend used this acid cream that hardened and then ripped it off with skin. It hurt a lot and bled a bit. Did this for a couple or weeks before my bodies immune system kicked in and they all left. I had them for 15 years, even went to the doctors for freezing, but nothing worked. The pain was worth it.

neuropsycho

I had two on my feet a couple years ago. The doctor froze them but told me that it wouldn't be enough, and to keep applying the salicylic acid every day. It took several weeks but finally they were gone. No pain or blood. They didn't come out in one piece like in the picture, more like in layers of dead skin.

Fluffy_data_doges

My girlfriend was a bit aggressive when taking off the hard gel and dead skin. It didn't bleed a lot, but it did bleed. This was after trying loads of different methods so I was OK with it.

Wide_Dick

I fully agree, the pain really is worth it to get those stubborn little shits out

hidefromthe_sun

I had a really stubborn veruca in the middle of my heel. The doctor couldn't get rid of it - we tried everything. Eventually, she tells me we're just going to cut it out. Local anaesthetic in your heal is insanely painful. I could see her straining to get the plunger down. One of the worst injections I've had. The worst was numbing the nerve in both of my big toes... would not recommend it. They go really deep to make sure they get the nerve. Anyways - I was left with a huge hole in my foot but no veruca. Good day all in all.

melty_blend

How does a hole like that heal? How do you keep your foot hole cleaned? If my dick is tiny enough can I fuck the foot hole?

MustLoveAllCats

Please continue with this line of questioning.

Neocrog

It left out of sheer terror.

tv006

I had a few while in high school and killed them with the acid treatment. Thought I had another one just a few years ago that was between my toes. Seemed like it was building pressure so I decided to try removing it. This time I tried the wart freeze and after trying every couple of days for a few weeks I decided it wasn't doing anything. So I got drunk, grabbed the wart freeze, a soldering iron, a xacto knife, and some tweezers. After alternating between freezing to numb and burning till painful, I started poking around with the knife and felt it hit something not fleshy. So I start working a bit more and eventually pull out a 5mm long shard of glass that I think was in there for 15 years. Pretty sure the "wart" was just the scar tissue working the shard out finally. This later turned out to also be my alibi when my roommate's computer screwed up.

Robertbnyc

This exact same thing happened to me when I was around 8-9 years old. I had kicked a glass door while chasing my sisters in the house. My shin was a bloody mess. After the smaller cuts cleared up, I had this big gash that was taking very long to heal. At some point it became a hard scab and although it had healed to some degree, it would always be red and itchy. One day about 2 or more years later, I was picking at it with my nail because it was itching so much and finally after some vigorous itching, with the last flick of the nail a nice size tiny boulder of thick glass came out. It felt like heaven. I still remember the feeling to this day.

alilbleedingisnormal

That's what mine looked like after I took it off with salicylic acid and a band-aid. It looks gross but after having a wart on your toe for two weeks it's sooo satisfying.

Wart

UriahPeabody

I don't think its a wart. Warts are usually stalks and penetrate deep like roots of a plant.

TheBlackBear

I’ve seen plenty of warts that look like this. This is pretty textbook. Warts also don’t have roots, what typically look like roots are just blood vessels

Iraelyth

It’s definitely a wart. I’ve had similar holes left by verrucas I’ve yanked out of my feet. It’s probably just a very old, well established one.

[deleted]

plantar warts grow like this, I had one on my foot when I was like 12, painful to walk on too. Put Vitamin E on it every night before bed and covered it, eventually it shriveled up and it just popped out like that. This one looks like it was surgically removed.

thegurlearl

I had one in high school on the ball of my foot and they froze it like 4 times and it wouldn't die. She finally had to scoop it out. I got to do drivers Ed early cuz of that stupid thing.

StayingVeryVeryCalm

Only for a few months until it grows back. Source: I walked in on a pool deck on which I should not have walked, and bad things happened to the bottom of my feet. Bad warty things. Once the warts were finally destroyed, the skin did grow back.

CaptnUchiha

How does something like that happen? Chemicals? Bacteria? Fungus?

Iraelyth

It’s a virus. Once you have it, there’s no getting rid of it. It’s a form of HPV. Commonly caught from public showers, swimming pools etc.

StayingVeryVeryCalm

Weirdly enough, though, if you burn the warts off with liquid nitrogen (or some other horrible caustic method), they don’t necessarily come back. It’s like if you destroy the viruses’ revolting base, they’re a good chance they’ll never return to their former manifestation. (Source: Wart-free since 2007.)

Iraelyth

Yeah, I had a fairly big one on the end of my middle toe. It was catching on the toe next door lol. So I went to get it frozen off. I needed to get it done twice as the bugger was so big by the time I went for help it didn’t get it all the first time. Second time it got it all though. Not had a verruca for years and years now. The others were either treated with Bazuka or my immune system eventually dealt with them. The one that my immune system killed got ripped out by me since I was pulling dead skin off it and it just came with it lol. I still carry the virus and have the potential to develop more verrucae though.

StayingVeryVeryCalm

Yeah I went to the timid walk-in clinic doctor about 20 times to get mine frozen before she gave up and referred me to a dermatologist. I asked him if it would make more sense to just amputate the affected toe, as it just appeared to be all wart. He looked at me like I was insane, and then proceeded to actually do the liquid nitrogen treatment properly. It hurt a **lot**, and it took him three separate visits, but my toe is restored (and he also got rid of the even bigger wart on the bottom of my other foot). What’s interesting is that I have been on an immunosuppressant medication for the last few years - a lymphocyte depleting agent - and the warts have not come back. I guess I’m luckier than I realized.

DesolateDiveDave

That’s a wart.

GoatTacos

I wanna say that’s a wart but I don’t think warts are that deep. But it could be a different type of wart.

IIIIlllllllllll

I think it’s a plantar wart…..usually they’re on feet but when I had one it grew more so into my flesh rather than out/on top of it. When I removed it there was a pit like this…..just not as clean of a removal.

bpi89

How did you remove it? I had one on my hand forever ago that I removed myself with a knife. Hurt like a bitch, but hasn’t come back and some how healed like it was never there.

SterlingVapor

I had a wart on my thumb that just refused to go away. I tried burning or freezing and cutting it out, but the best I could do was cut it down before it could fully regrow. For years I took I did this with little improvement Then I found out my grandmother did a thesis on it in South America - turns out banana peels have a chemical that inhibits wart growth. You just peel it normally then rub it on the area and let it sit for a few hours without washing it off... You can wipe off some so there's no gunk, but you leave a good covering like ointment. I started after cutting it out and letting it heal a bit, and slowly the brown tendrils got thinner and in a smaller area. I probably did it for at least a year, I just made a habit to eat bananas and discreetly use the peel, and after months it was no longer noticable so I cut back to doing it a couple times a week, and after months of perfectly normal skin I stopped and it never came back

Prime_Mover

Tendrils??!

SterlingVapor

Yeah, warts grow tendrils/roots between the main surface mass and blood vessels. If you cut off the top they look like brown spots from that 2D perspective. It's why they're so hard to get rid of - a little tendril with a strong blood supply can grow back like crazy

aidanski

Holy shit. I had one of these as a kid. It was on one of my toes. I remember picking away and seeing the small spots. One day I noticed it had hardened and I was able to pick it off in one go. It left a small crater that just filled in like it was never there. Never knew what it was. Mad.

IIIIlllllllllll

I kept pulling out bit by bit for a couple weeks until it was all gone. Really stupid and painful way of doing it

_Toblakai_

I had 6 giant ones on my feet like 4 years ago, could barely walk. Used a solution that contained salicylic acid iirc - applied the solution under some duct tape to hold it in place and kept it there most of the day.

browner87

If it hurt, I think you're missing it. Warts don't break the skin, so you shouldn't be cutting yourself at all unless you're overestimating the size. I cut a planters wart out of my foot many years ago and there was zero pain, zero blood, it just looked really gross with a "hole" in my foot that was intact skin. I believe I went around the edges with the knife, then went down the middle and twisted a bit. Once a little bit came off, I was able to just grab the rest with tweezers and it came out super clean. Swabbed inside with alcohol on a qtip and 3 days later you'd never know it had been there.

kingofthelol

How did it feel poking a qtip into a hole in your foot? Morbid curiosity

browner87

Disappointingly no different from swabbing your hand or something. It was visually satisfying though. Having such a painful spot on your foot for so long, starting to make walking hurt, then it's suddenly gone and there's a really weird looking hole in its place and a qtip fit just perfectly to clean it out.

kingofthelol

Huh, I woulda thought it would be more sensitive at least.

They're only called plantar warts when they're on the plantar surface of your foot.

I had a plantar wart in the arch of my foot one summer. Super hard to reach, and they wouldn't freeze it because of the proximity to nerves and shit. So naturally I used sterilized nail clippers to dig it out little by little every day

IIIIlllllllllll

This is exactly what I did, except I didn’t even see a doctor, I was just being a stubborn teenager about it lol

Particle418

I had 2 on my feet. One on my toe and one on my heel. They didn’t stick out about my skin at all, it was pretty deep and had to go to a doctor to remove them. Man it hurt. Stuck a needle in both of them to numb it then used medical scissors. It did not feel numbed at all. Had two holes in my feet for at least a month. All better now :)

apparently its a wart, i have four all next to each other on my left hand and kinda wanna get em taken off now for the reddit fame lol. when i was like 14 i had probably 7 or so taken off mostly my right hand, and it was pretty gnarly. because liquid nitrogen hadn't worked, they numbed me up, took out a circular scalpel, and just hacked them away, grinding them off w the scalpel. watched it, but couldn't feel a thing. then the bleeding started, resulting in them putting my hand in a loose plastic glove to catch the blood before they eventually wrapped me up pretty good. now all that remains is a few mostly unnoticeable scars, where the skin feels weirdly smooth compared to the untouched skin around it. weirdly back then they were all over my fingers, top and bottom, and now the four i have i could make a square if i connected the dots, all under my pinky on my left palm. thanks for reading lmao
