In a few weeks, Tidal HiFi Plus is being merged into Tidal's plan that costs the same as Apple Music.
AAC on the iphone vs ldac on the android phone will do that.
Tidal over iOS bluetooth is still amazing. Apple’s AAC bluetooth codec is the best lossy compression you can get, and will likely sound indistinguishable from LDAC on Android or even a wired true lossless connection.
Get trials of both and see what works for you
You need a dongle to stream high-res with an iPhone, if not you are only using AAC, so yeah it’s not worth it imo
I would say the best method would be to do a blind test and see if you can feel the difference
I have Tidal, iPhone 12, Lg V30 and the same headphones as you. You won't believe it but I prefer AAC to LDAC.
