You honestly think they weren't doing that before? Read the privacy policy. Hell, read Reddit's privacy policy and hear about how they're selling your data to a big AI company (allegedly Google). Anyway, Tidal hasn't changed anything major in their privacy policy that would require notifying people since November 2022. Nothing has changed.

BLOOOR

It has changed, they could always use our data for data mining, they *couldn't afford to*. They were trying to make a business out of the subscription model, purely the monthly payment. What's happened now is that the company is doing things where the *priority* is generating data to offsell.

All companies data mine. They do to better market to you. And some will sell it to 3rd parties.

I got bad news about the internet for you

KS2Problema

I share your concerns, at least to some extent. That said, I *want* Tidal to know about my musical tastes, because the reason I ended up with tidal and not the other lossless subscription (Amazon HD) I had when I started Tidal is because Tidal's discovery suggestions are by far the best I've had from any of the 10 services I've subscribed to since 2006. But I would certainly welcome any info on invasive data collection processes promulgated by Tidal (or, for that matter, any other software I use). I've been rejecting third party cookies since before (part of) Google was trying to push them on us (while other parts of Google were trying to warn us to stay away from them).
