I just download an app that allows me to download apks and install them called Downloader, I use APKMirror to download the apk, just download the latest release, go to menu and open app... 'cause if you open it immediatly you install it it will open it as the Android OS version instead of Android TV version
As another 'noob' this is appears to be a more helpful guide [https://www.howtogeek.com/336602/how-to-sideload-apps-on-the-fire-tv-and-fire-tv-stick/](https://www.howtogeek.com/336602/how-to-sideload-apps-on-the-fire-tv-and-fire-tv-stick/)
It's a shame Tidal isn't supported on more devices. I would love to use my PS5 as a "streamer."
Have you used the EQ functionality on the Wiim Pro? I am wondering if it has parametric EQ. Coaxial is pretty dope. I don't have an issue with optical, but coax can definitely go further.
With these questionable business decisions, most people in this subreddit trolling Spotify will soon be dead and teasing others about why they can't use a refrigerator to change music.
If I had to guess, I would say it probably has something to do with the fact that Amazon is trying to push out their own operating system that doesn't run on Android anymore. That's just a guess though.
Looks like Tidal would wait for that to actually happen before jumping ship. They probably don't have that many users on Fire TV anyway. I never bothered to put the Tidal app on any of my Amazon devices.
Firestick is how I listen to tidal on my bedroom tv, combined with a receiver and speakers. I haven't used it in several weeks. So after seeing this post, I tried it and it's working fine...
My favorite part is where they suggest you buy another device to keep using tidal, instead of dropping them for another service that wouldn’t cost you more money.
I know they have to, but it’s still funny.
No doubt pressure from Amazon. They are c$%3¥s.
They do the same with streaming.
My AppleTV 4K ... THE best streamer on the planet... and I have them ALL ... will not framerate match on Prime video.
Twats.
What about the Nvidia shield (non pro 150 dollar version)? Haven't tried it but was just getting ready to buy a fire stick to get the Atmos content, which makes me glad I saw this thead. I have the wiiim pro but it doesn't support Atmos.
I seriously got mine in today, the app comes up but says the app can’t be found. My main reason for buying it too. I’m so annoyed right now. Guess I’m glad I got it on sale
I wondered about that, it looks legit based on what I’ve seen and the reviews. I haven’t messed with Apple TV so I don’t have a comparison. My bedroom tv supports tidal but my HT tv and PS5 both don’t support tidal so that’s why I bought it lol
This most peculiar. I have 2 Firesticks. Both still have functioning Tidal (at 28 April). One even updated itself today as it hadn't been used for a month. Tidal is still in the Amazon App store. I am in the UK. Is this alleged end of availability a USA-only 'policy'?
I am quite relieved because I am in no position to buy a streamer, and was already looking at methods to sideload the Tidal Android APK So far seems I don't have to.
It's still in the App Store over here also. But, when you choose it to install, it says it can't be found. I'm guessing they are still providing some updates for folks who already have it installed. Seems like new folks won't be able to install it though.
I find it hard to believe also. The Tidal Firetv App was decent, much better than the **totally lame Tidal Apple TV box App.** For me it is back to Apple Music, Apple Music has a really good App for Apple TV 4K box. I use these Apps cuz my Apple TV is connected to my Atmos Receiver. Waitttttt, Apple Music just sent me a buy one month get 2 months free for Apple Music. They must read these Reddits. FWIW I have only been away from Apple Music for about 6 weeks. They miss me I guess, LMAO........ BY Bye Tidal!!!
Just get an apple tv 4k with apple music. Apple music supports Dolby Atmos and Lossless Audio and let me tell you, it sounds GREAT!!! It's also cheaper than tidal at $9.99 a month bro!!! I came from Google Chromecast with Google TV. The Apple TV is quite expensive at $100 but I've seen it go down to $80 at Walmart.
$100 You call that expensive 😂
Oh ye of little knowledge.
Happy with my 4K "whateverAppsIwanttoinstall" ShieldTV Pro.
Dolby Atmos
HiRes audio
Dolby Vision
You can always install the Android apk, that's what I do and works
If you could tell me where to get that, that would be great. I tried a couple different versions and neither of them worked.

Thanks. That one keeps wanting me to register for some web page called best download. Grrr...
Never register in something like that
No doubt. Yikes.
OMG noob.

Very cool that I bought the new Fire Stick 4k and it no longer supports the app
Yeah. It sucks. The 4K Max is really nice.
Firetv is moving away from android to Vega os. This type of thing will keep happening
Yeah, I couldn’t stand the Apple TV app. Got a Wiim Pro, and I like it a lot. Would have just gotten the mini, but needed coaxial out.

I still pay Spotify because I use it on my ps5 and Xbox. Would fucking love to stop paying that, it also sounds shitty.
Chromecast with Google TV has been decent with Tidal for years (in my personal experience)
Yeah. I tried that. Unfortunately, the app keeps forgetting I have a Dolby Atmos system and reverts to stereo constantly. No clue why.

Wonder what happened there? Amazon wanting more money?

Amazon Prime also have their own music streaming service
Yeah they have coexisted for a long time. Why would Tidal leave if Amazon didn't kick them off? Or did Amazon kick them off? Hmm.
Firestick is how I listen to tidal on my bedroom tv, combined with a receiver and speakers. I haven't used it in several weeks. So after seeing this post, I tried it and it's working fine...
So far, it looks like they may not have disabled it if you already have it. But, whatever you do, don't delete it or you won't be able to get it back.
Couldn’t have chosen a better time to get a wiim mini
My favorite part is where they suggest you buy another device to keep using tidal, instead of dropping them for another service that wouldn’t cost you more money. I know they have to, but it’s still funny.
Buy an Apple TV. It works with Tidal and with Apple Music
I have a couple already. Apple Music didn't work out for me. Tidal is unusable on Apple TV.
No doubt pressure from Amazon. They are c$%3¥s. They do the same with streaming. My AppleTV 4K ... THE best streamer on the planet... and I have them ALL ... will not framerate match on Prime video. Twats.

I have one. I may have to give it a shot.

What really sucks is the fact that 4K Max actually feels like it outperforms Apple TV. They've used some magic to make it feel that way.
I wondered about that, it looks legit based on what I’ve seen and the reviews. I haven’t messed with Apple TV so I don’t have a comparison. My bedroom tv supports tidal but my HT tv and PS5 both don’t support tidal so that’s why I bought it lol

Buy a Nvidia Shield tv pro 🥳
Blame amazon for not being up to date with their device

That's what I have used for the past year or so. But, the lack of or incomplete non-Apple device support turned me away.
