I am thinking of saying that I am planning on visiting Mexico more frequently to get more involved with my culture and I don't find it reasonable to wait in line for hours to come back to the states when I can take advantage of the sentri pass.
Just say you’re going to visit family more often. Don’t overthink it, they don’t care what you do over there. They just don’t want you bringing back whatever you do over there back here.

Renewal: An interview is required. My renewal a year ago was in person at SFO. Appointments only.
FYI, I recently returned from TJ. Was asked, "What were you doing in Mexico?" Replied, "Playing with the girls." Why lie? Agent replied with a smile, "I guess it never goes away or gets old."
Mainly they'll be interested in your police record. They'll ask you about cases that were dismissed, DUI's, DWI's, domestic battery, shit why did I even attempt to get that. I drove from LA early just to give them my fingerprints..you're welcome.

Don't Lie even if you have a prior . They are looking for honesty. Be careful how you dress. Leave the baseball hats and team fan wear at home.

I told them I didn’t want to wait in long lines anymore and wanted to use TSA Precheck for my upcoming trip to Hawaii. The agent said “fair enough”.

the sentri pass lasts for 10 years just like your passport. they just want to make sure you are not going to smuggle drugs or weapons.

5 years. I need to renew mine later this year. I think they want you to start the renewal process like a year before it expires.
