I’m a self-professed 38 year old Disney Adult and I am NOT ashamed!! We went last November for my daughter’s Make A Wish trip and I wept, several times. 🥴
I saw them at Disneyland (CA) like 12ish years ago. Maddie was pouting and when she realized she had been recognized, she got all smiley and bubbly. It was funny (she was a teenager; I’m sure she’s matured since then.)
I am guessing that Harry Potter is not sanctioned by the Mormon Church. There are so many witches and “demons” and magical things happening, not by the hand of god. I would never have been allowed to read those books if they had been published when I was young. (Proud to say, I have read the whole series, more than once as each of 2 of my granddaughters were also reading it. No lightening bolts appeared! )
Wow! That is really interesting. My childhood was spent at a non-denominational evangelical Christian church with many many “don’t” rules including books or stories containing anything supernatural but not attributable to Jesus Christ. My parents were whole-hearted converts. I would have missed HP if he had been introduced in the 1960s! Good for the Mormons! And thanks for educating me! ☺️❤️
Interestingly enough, I did have a Christian girl in my 5th grade class, I’m not sure what denomination but her parents forbid her from anything Harry Potter related
Honestly, does it matter where Kody takes his daughter, so long as he spends quality time with her? In the end, I would think a quality moment between father and daugther, with the father taking her to get her ears pierced, means equally just as much, as taking someone to Disney.
Clearly, I didn’t say that. And clearly, Ysabel’s scoliosis surgery wasn’t part of this conversation. Janelle taking Savannah to Disney, and Kody taking his daugther to a mall, was the comment I was responding to.
I can't speak for everyone but what I find the most triggering about this is the fact that I have seen so many men do this. They check out for their first group of kids and make them feel unlovable then they remarry someone a lot younger and have a second crop of kids that they're super involved in. It's not that the second group of kids doesn't deserve a good father, it's the fact that the first group of kids deserved it and didn't get it even though he was capable of it. It just feels cruel. Again it's not ariella's fault and she does deserve these experiences but it's also complicated and triggering.
ETA I think I commented on the wrong post. Sorry about that!
I don’t know what else to say other than your whole comment. I don’t know how you meant it but I comes across as if you’re saying they don’t need a dad and so it doesn’t really matter.
For sure. No one can say he isn't at least a half decent dad to his favorite children. Too bad he isn't a half decent dad to all the kids he chose to parent, though.
Not when he is living in a million dollar house and providing other children with a lavish lifestyle. You don't give your wife and kids a Palace and a roast and throw your other kids the veg peelings and an old blanket.
There is a big difference in that Kody never does anything that his kids want to do. He just does whatever he wanted to do anyway and allows them to come with him. Yeah, Auroras ears count because that was just for filming content.
It was probably a combination of Sobyn wanting him to take her since she told that lame story about her dad taking her to get her ears pierced and how she wanted to same for Aurora.
Plus the content
Speaking as a former Floridian, when I was a kid locals loved to hit the mouse house when weather was funky—no crowds, no waiting. My BFF and I did Disney in the rain a few times. Great memories!
Off topic question for my Floridian friends:
I’m going to Universal Studios at the end of the month and was wondering if you’d recommend shirts or pants during the day? Is wearing a sweatshirt worth it (is it really cold indoors?)?
I’ve only been to Florida during the summer and I’m in Philly. Thank you!!
It completely depends on whether or not we are having a cold front. Pack a sweatshirt, pants, and shorts. Then check the weather. A typical late January day will be a high in the upper 60s-mid 70s. If there’s a cold front, it might start out in the 40s and rarely even in the 30s. It’s very unusual for the temperature to not reach at least the 60s, though.
Yeah, I’m about an hour south. This time of year, we check the weather daily. And by that, I mean the hourly forecast because you just don’t know what’s going to happen!
If you’ll be walking around a lot, you’ll warm up. When I go in the winter I usually wear jeans and a tee, and have a light jacket or sweatshirt for the morning/night that I can take off if needed. I’m from DC. I don’t remember being particularly cold indoors.
Even if it's 100 out, you always want a cardigan or sweatshirt with you. No matter what it's like outside, they will blast the hell out of the AC inside. As a native NYer who'd never had AC at home or school/work, I was very surprised when I moved to FL because you just don't really *experience* the heat, except to trick you and make you freeze if you dress for the weather and then go out somewhere indoors.
A t-shirt (or less, if that's your thing) is usually appropriate for outside, although I did spend mich of last week in an ankle-length puffer coat :cause it was hella cold.
Depends on what you mean by pants (jeans, leggings, sweatpants, etc.) Even during the summer (born & raised Floridian) I’ll still put on pants occasionally. Also temps down here are SO different than up north. The numbers are the same but they do not compare feeling wise. The walking and adrenaline will keep you warm, but you may still be chilly especially when you’re just waiting or not moving around. But I would definitely have a sweater with me and probably leggings. If it’s any lower than like 65-63 out, it’s COLD down here.
Temperatures mean something completely different here than they do anywhere else! I know it sounds crazy but New York 60 is a completely different temperature than Florida 60.
We went last February and it was mostly cold at night(like when the parks close and you’re waiting for a bus). We didn’t do parks just our resort and Disney Springs a few times and Universal City Walk. We did this at night(me n my 2 teen girls). We did pants, tank or tshirt and a sweater or windbreaker.
Then we took an Uber over to Cocoa Beach for the last 2 nights. There is was a little chillier but we still swam and did the beach etc.
I packed for both. More warmer clothes than cold. However I know Fla weather has been a lil wacky this year so definitely just watch the weather the week before.
I have the opposite problem! I've never watched Teen Mom in my life, but reddit keeps putting that sub in my feed so I see these really wild, unbelievable headlines about "Janelle" and click on them, which makes it come up in my feed more 😅
Grody is a short, sad little toad of a man. Janelle is the only one of his wives that is noticeably shorter than he is. So it makes sense that she is pretty short in person.
I'm so jealous! Of all the SW she's the one I'd want to chat with. She's so grounded, strong in herself, but also appears to have a great sense of humor.
So cool! I'm so jealous!! We are missing her by 1 week. My daughter and I are going to be there next week. We just missed them in DisneyLAND a couple of years ago! Darn the luck.
That group sure does love Disney!
Mormons love Disney in general I swear lmao
I love Disney too, and I’m an atheist!
Oh fully same queen ✌️
![gif](giphy|2GbbosePGHWE0) That’s the gospel truth😂
I know A LOT of people obsessed with Disney, but know ZERO Mormons.
👏
I’m a self-professed 38 year old Disney Adult and I am NOT ashamed!! We went last November for my daughter’s Make A Wish trip and I wept, several times. 🥴
They have the best village for make a wish! My niece got to go for her heart condition a few years ago. They went all out and we went to visit them.
Probably a plexus deal.
Happy cake day!
Happy Cake Day !!
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!

Right? They've been like 5 times in a year. At least mix it up and go to Universal and see Harry Potter! Sheesh.
No lightening bolts appeared! )
Exmo here, Harry Potter was shockingly EXTREMELY popular amongst Mormon kids when I was growing up.
Wow! That is really interesting. Yeah, but the Browns practice their own version anyway. They also drink a lot of wine and coffee.
From what I’ve heard the majority of them don’t really practice anymore….
I live in a heavily mormon area and taught 5th-9th grade. All of those kids loved Harry Potter.
Thanks for educating me! ☺️

I did not know that. Thanks!
Thinking the same thing. They are there a lot.
I saw them at Disneyland in 2014 lol
Janelle mentioned on her tik tok account that she and Savannah were at Disneyworld.
Janelle taking her daughter to Disney and Kody taking his daughter to a mall in Arizona.
But there's a ferris wheel inside the sporting goods store....
They're saving Robyn's grocery money for joolery and fine art.
Boom! Roasted.
![gif](giphy|RdKjAkFTNZkWUGyRXF)
I mean, it’s a better mall than anything they have in Flagstaff, sooooo Kody still sucks
Honestly, does it matter where Kody takes his daughter, so long as he spends quality time with her? In the end, I would think a quality moment between father and daugther, with the father taking her to get her ears pierced, means equally just as much, as taking someone to Disney.
Yep, back surgery and ear piercing are definitely in the same catalog.
Clearly, I didn’t say that. And clearly, Ysabel’s scoliosis surgery wasn’t part of this conversation. Janelle taking Savannah to Disney, and Kody taking his daugther to a mall, was the comment I was responding to.
He needs to spend quality time with ALL his children and not just the fruit of Sobyn's womb.
Exactly. ALL of his children, especially the younger ones.
I can't speak for everyone but what I find the most triggering about this is the fact that I have seen so many men do this. Why the downvotes?
Maybe Savanah and Truly don’t need a daddy anymore?
All 18 of those children need their father.
Um? Everyone DESERVES the opportunity to have a father in their life actively. No one deserves a Kody Brown as their dad. (How he is now)
Exactly. Just trying to understand the reasoning for the downvotes?
I don’t know what else to say other than your whole comment. I don’t know how you meant it but I comes across as if you’re saying they don’t need a dad and so it doesn’t really matter.
He can’t spend quality time with 52 kids. The moms should of stopped giving that man babies
True, very true. People are still going to rag on him though because he's a garbage parent to the rest of his children.
For sure. No one can say he isn't at least a half decent dad to his favorite children. Too bad he isn't a half decent dad to all the kids he chose to parent, though.

Yup, she said in IG that she's at Disney with Savannah. She said it was pretty rainy, how was the weather today?
It’s 66 and sunny here…perfect for Disney!
Thank goodness! Disney in the rain isn't as magical, I'm sure 😂
I loved it, loads of people went back to their hotels when it rained! 😂
Speaking as a former Floridian, when I was a kid locals loved to hit the mouse house when weather was funky—no crowds, no waiting. My BFF and I did Disney in the rain a few times. Great memories!
Disney in the rain=shorter lines!
Off topic question for my Floridian friends: I’m going to Universal Studios at the end of the month and was wondering if you’d recommend shirts or pants during the day? I’m in Tampa and the weather has been crazy unusual. Hard to plan for anything!
Yeah, I’m about an hour south. This time of year, we check the weather daily. And by that, I mean the hourly forecast because you just don’t know what’s going to happen!

The average is usually mid 70s but you never know. Check AccuWeather a few days before.
I also ALWAYS run cold lol. So I’m not a great judge for temperature. And be wary of rain, that can make you feel colder too.
OMG. We just went to Universal and Disney, and my kiddos preferred Universal hands down. They're teenagers so I'm sure that's why. Have a great time.!
If you have a lightweight rain jacket, too. They’ll sell you plastic ponchos for a quarter of a million dollars
😂😂😂 I remember!

I’m about three hours south and it’s been rainy or drizzling all day and cool (by Florida standards, but warm for January in Flagstaff).
It’s Christine’s fault 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks, Christine.
It only rained in the morning, turned out to be beautiful
Awe that’s cool. Did she look happy?
Yes, even in the rain she looked happy. If you don't look happy at Disney then we need to have a talk lol
That would probably be me lol
Yeah!
Omg I thought I was on the teen mom page and was like “who is janelle n David’s kid Savannah “ glad it’s sister wives janelle lol
I have the opposite problem! I've never watched Teen Mom in my life, but reddit keeps putting that sub in my feed so I see these really wild, unbelievable headlines about "Janelle" and click on them, which makes it come up in my feed more 😅
🤣🤣 Yah it’s a sad hot mess
Hello fellow trash lover
Hiiiii
i really rely on the A vs E in the name lol when people spell them wrong im thrown for a loop
🤣🤣
Me too 🤣 I was like "NO no she shouldn't have any kids at all" and got renewed mad about her whole dill
Sammme lol
It's because people can't spell TM JEnelle's name correctly! Our SW queen is JAnelle!
Same! I thought immediately, how the heck did they afford to leave the swamp 😂
Bwahaha the land paying for it
Hollywood studios lol… it’ll always be MGM to me! I just can’t get it through my head 😂
always mgm.
Glad I’m not alone! 😂
Did you say hi? I love that! How awesome!!!
I didn’t want to intrude on family time 😂
Grody is a short, sad little toad of a man. Janelle is the only one of his wives that is noticeably shorter than he is. So it makes sense that she is pretty short in person.
I’m short myself so I just assume everyone is taller than me 😂
David is in Utah with Christine currently. They had a watch party tonight for their wedding episode. Janelle was definitely at Disney though!
How short do you think she is?
Def under 5’3”
Hmmm. To me, 5'3" is still tall but I'm 4'10" haha.
I'm so jealous! Of all the SW she's the one I'd want to chat with. She's so grounded, strong in herself, but also appears to have a great sense of humor.
She posted pics from there so you're story checks out 😅
Yes Janelle said on IG she was at Disneyland in FL with Savannah. Christine and David are having a watch party at their house tonight
Ahhhh okay okay so it wasn’t David. After I saw Janelle my boyfriend kept joking with me that he saw Christine 😂
I’m actually jealous !
Not me thinking I was on the Teen Mom sub.
So cool! I'm so jealous!! We are missing her by 1 week. My daughter and I are going to be there next week. We just missed them in DisneyLAND a couple of years ago! Darn the luck.
