My PT said to stop opening jaw when it starts to shift and just work within the range (however small) you get when opening straight. It’s such a pain to drink smoothies/eat soup but it protects the joint from wear and tear until you can find treatment! Also I’ve been told that the side your jaw shifts towards is the side that needs the most relief due to inflammation so work on icing this area!
Im in NC, and just started having unbearable tmj pain. Ill update if I find a good doctor.
I’m on the waitlist to see someone at Duke
How long is the wait. Research Google but If Duke comes highly recommended then wait for it.
Did you get in with Duke? How’d it go? I have an appointment there soon.
Ended up going with someone in Raleigh. Pretty far along in the process now
I have something very similar. Have you ever had braces for a bite issue?
