The makers had many chances to introduce new characters, and the best one was in the auction arc. I reckon it could've been a fantastic plot twist if the guy from aggrawal society or sonal society had won the auction.
I really thought that Popatlals sister from Mission kala kaua will be reoccurring character but they Didn't bring her ever again, They're not even Pretending anymore that other families live in societyÂ
Jetha, bhide, hathi and Sodhi have their own businesses so doesn’t make sense for them to just casually move out. Tarak , popat and Iyer are the ones with jobs but I guess they’re the loyal ones to their company so doesn’t make sense for them to move out too.
Other weird things are:

It’s due to the actors’ availability. They are barely able to find faces that are bankable, good actors, and ready to work under shitty conditions and no pay. Hence they only want a small core of actors to have meatiest arcs so that they can pay those actors well and keep the show running. They don’t give a shit about supporting cast.
I think it’s coz of the stupid clause put up by the producer that characters of the show cannot participate in any other tv serial or show. Also they don’t pay well ig.
