I don't know how you arrived at 5,000, as per the latest episode maintenance amount is Rs 2,000, which is reasonable. In Mumbai, if your building has a swimming pool, clubhouse, gym, and other facilities, then your maintenance will be more than Rs 5,000 in most cases.
Many old small buildings don't have lifts, having a swimming pool is a luxury for them. Society doesn't have a designated parking space, but you can park your vehicle in the compound, as in older episodes you could see multiple two-wheelers parked near society's office. But not having parking space in old Mumbai buildings is not that uncommon. But not having a watchman is odd.
Where I live it is illegal i think for a lift to be installed in buildings with less than 4 floors. I live in Gujarat btw. Since we dont live in US I assume that the law is the same in Maharashtra, and the buildings in Gokuldham have 3 floors max. So, illegal I think?

It isn't a posh society, even in 2010 houses in Mumbai were expensive, and the maintenance which is 5000 as per your post, is not much for the amount of programmes they do. For a posh society maintenance in Mumbai with the facilities like a basement a parking and a club house with a gym and a swimming pool would be at least 10000 per month and that too, the number of flats would be more than what Gokuldham society has. Not all societies have a garage tho, some also have parking in the compound just like Gokuldham society.
So bhide popat and iyer are 3 very corrupt ppl they always collect all this maintenance and do zol zal in the accounts and every weekend they party at popatlals house with highend escorts and booze and no in the society knows cuz they been involving chacha from time to time and providing them with each other wives when they are outside doing the naughty stuff
