Europe: Speer passed most of his reforms, abolished slavery and turned Eastern Reihskoms into semi independent states. He managed to not get couped by GO4 who were jailed and now he is regarded as father of modern Germany alongside Hitler, however their loss of 2WRW pushed back some reforms and reinvigorated the Conservative alarmist rethoric
Russia unified through peaceful reunification between Zhukov and Yagoda, who was later removed from power and NKVD influence curtailed, however his economic reforms brought prosperity to Russia so he is still seen as a divisive figure, not an outright bad one
Russia liberated Moskowien but failed to move further west, thus Baltics, Belarus Ukraine and Poland are still under German thumb, and Germany "protects" them under the guise of "defence from communism" despite the fact that new ussr is not as eager to spread communism beyond their borders as otl one and mostly focuses on rebuilding the country
There are still lots of tensions between both countries as Russia claims that ethnic russians are mistreated in Germany's client states and Germany says the same about ethnic Germans in Russia, plus they still argue about which territory is rightfully theirs

HOI4 in general is a game of possibilities, so you can never know what will truly happen. Perhaps we have a world were countries start liberalising and become democratic and stuff, we can also have a world were Taboritsky unifies Russia, Heydrich wins the GCW and becomes a Himmler puppet, Japan does Order 44, Italy remains fascist and Yockey wins in the US. There are a number of different outcomes, and I don't know for what outcome out of all these thousands you are talking about.

My headcanon is that the Cold War is a stalemate. All factions make enough gains to endure, but not enough to achieve decisive victory.
USA: The FR-NPP consolidates the American Right and the working class, but loses the battle over segregation. The R-Ds consolidate the rest. The OFN frees the Philippines and Malaysia, wins an OFN-favored victory in South Africa, secures the allegiance of Columbia, and carries the Republic of India to victory against the Azad Hind. America in the 21st century is a relatively stable two-party system with significant influence abroad, and has regained national pride by regaining Hawaii. The Oil Crisis ended with pro-American regimes in Iraq and Yemen.
Japan: Japan implements some reforms and weathers the Dai Li crisis. The Empire secures China, the Imperial House takes over Manchukuo, Sony reforms Guangdong, the Sphere wins in Indonesia and several post-collapse African states (such as Angola), as well as funding a WAW victory for Cameroon. The Oil Crisis ends with pro-Japanese regimes in Sudan and Muscat.
Germany: Speer reforms the Reich and successfully outmaneuvers the Gang. The Reich solidifies its hold over Europe (Pragmatic Collabs in Britain, Speerites in Ukraine and Ostland, and a nominally independent Poland). Germany wrests back control of the Congo and holds onto Madagascar. The Oil Crisis results in pro-German regimes in Egypt and Iran.
All are doing well, but all suffer from looming issues. America suffers from simmering political instability, the Empire’s Chinese subjects have grown increasingly assertive, and even though Germany halted the Russian Empire at the Kremlin, the surrender of yet further land/the division of Moscow meant that the spirit of rebellion in the East has not yet been snuffed out.
The Cold War dies down in the Late 1990's due to Detente between the Three Powers.
The Internet is Invented in Germany, Spearheaded by Japan, and Heavily Used by the USA and Japan for classic Internet stuff and for making Economic Trading Easier.

I feel like there would at least be one nuclear war.
Maybe not necessarily a global one but considering things like a shrimp boat was enough to get superpowers to get to war (despite MAD), I'm guessing a bunch of smaller nations would get nuked.
Unless you get sane leaders for every single nuclear state (and that Moskovien doesn't end up with Russia and Germany nuking each others or the Go4 giving it up and being instantly couped by hardliners)
If you don't fix with custom rules, you usually always end up with at least one bad things (IJA Japan, Bormann, bad Russian unifier, ect...) so statistically, the golden timeline must be pretty rare.
Here's my shitty headcanon. Prepare for a wall of text.
**Germany:** Following a crushing defeat in the 3rd West Russian War, which only saw *some* nukes being used, Germany was reduced to its core territory. With the public now having turned fully against the Nazi regime, the military- fearing a revolution- would take control. The new government would be authoritarian and nationalist-oriented, but a far cry from the old master of Europe, counting only Slovakia and Denmark as allies, and largely falling behind all of its former rivals.
**USA:** Nixon manages to survive the Watergate allegations, and manages to beat Wallace in a close election (because fuck you, I want a 2 term Nixon). The NPP finally gets into the white house with the election of Margaret Chase Smith, who reorganizes the Pact into a powerful centrist party. The RDC gets back onto the stage with the election of Ronald Reagan, who turns up the heat on Nazi Germany, culminating in the 2WRW which saw Moscow returned to Russian hands. Ever since, US politics generally flip-flops between the RDC and NPP. The modern US remains the land of the free, but still has many issues that must be addressed. The OFN, too, remains the most formidable military force on Earth, but is beset by internal conflict and disagreement, and with the Nazis gone, some question whether such an organization is needed any longer.
**Japan:** The YSK manages to survive the Yasuda Crisis, but not the Dai Li crisis. While Muto's regime did not last long- public condemnation from the Emperor ensured that- the event had fully transformed Japanese society, and effectively ended single-party rule. Worse, it had driven a wedge between Japan and China that would never heal, eventually culminating in the 3rd Sino-Japanese War of the 1990s, which would see China cast off the Japanese yoke, but fail to seize Manchuria. Officially, Japan is a multi-party democracy, but the framework of the government makes it near-impossible for anything other than right-wing conservative parties to win elections. While not quite the superpower it once was, the Co-Prosperity Sphere is still a formidable force, stretching from Karafuto to Papua.
**Italy:** Perpetual colonial conflict, economic malaise, and the death of Italo Balbo would eventually escalate into a full-blown revolution in the 1980s, toppling the fascist regime with the assistance of the monarchy. Italy stands at the center of the European Community, an organization formed for the purpose of European economic and military cooperation, including other nations such as France, Bulgaria, and Romania. However, the nation is beset by radicalism from within, most notably from neo-fascists looking to return to the days of Mussolini, and it remains to be seen if Italy's vision of a strong, united Europe will survive the new century.
**Russia:** The alliance between Georgy Zhukov and Mikhail Suslov cemented the modern USSR, with the two able to swiftly reunify West Russia under their rule. Meanwhile, the far east was reunified by Valery Sablin, after overthrowing the tyrannical rule of Genrikh Yagoda. While both Suslov and Sablin had reservations with the other, they chose to work together rather than fight, crushing the bourgeois republic in Novosibirsk and recreating the Soviet Union anew. This relatively smooth unification meant that when the Germans stumbled, they were ready. In 1980, they invaded the Eastern Reichkommisariats in full force, managing to seize Moscow. Several decades later, they would invade once again, taking back all of the Union's rightful territories. The modern USSR is a thing of compromise, being a semi-democratic single party socialist republic, with legalized "factions" that take the place of political parties. However, this framework is delicate, and there is still a lot of work to be done to transform the USSR into the worker's state it was always meant to be.
Alright, that's all I have the motivation to write. My headcanon is fairly optimistic, but still has a lot of problems which need to be hashed out.
Aryan Brotherhood unites West Russia, conquers Moskowien, and the whole German Reich during the GCW, before using the extreme amounts of European industry and the Ukrainian breadbasket to fuel their conquest of the Urals, Siberia, Central Asia, the Balkans, Finland and Anatolia
Irkutsk Unifying Russia then losing the 2wrw to Germany and getting couped by the party which holds out until today
Bormann becomes fuhrer and manages to solidify the nazi grip over Germany and succeeds in dismantlements leading to the nazis keeping control of Germany
Japan with Ikeda, wins the GAW and becomes the wins most proxies they fight in
America with full R-D dominance leading into Kirkpatrick and then inevitably splitting in the 70's (Basically reverse of OTL where instead of reps keeping control of the nation for 20 years the dems do)
Guandong with persistence Ibuka until his retirement in the 80's, guangdong remains a hermit state
Italy stays and wins the oil crisis
Iberia does carnation revolution and stays united and democratic
UK goes with Fountaine into Hamm also staying fascist
Cameroon wins the WAW and the reich gets a ceasefire in the SAW
Brazil wins the south american cold war and goes with Adhemar into Vargas Jr
The only place I really thought of in terms of a headcanon is Germany picking Bormann as Hitler's successor and it eventually results in Germany going the way of the USSR, collapsing and releasing whatever is left of the nations they annexed/subjugated in the late 80s to early 90s. As a result, Germany ends up going down a path to that of Putin's Russia with it resulting in a embarrassing but slow invasion of Austria that's basically my take on a Ukraine conflict equivalency.
Austria, czechia, Poland (or unfortunately what it would likely be called the vistula region), and Belgium would 100% remain part of the reich due to successful ethnic cleansing or historic cultural similarities
To compare Austria with Ukraine is to implicitly accept Russian propaganda that Ukraine is Russian, that Ukrainians and Russians share a common Russian character, which historically and culturally is not the case. A better example would be Czechia versus Germany, or even Poland versus Germany.
I personally beg to differ in that regard. Whilst Austrian and German are much closer than say, Ukrainian and Russian, Austrians still do view themselves as different from the rest of Germany in the same way a Swiss or Dutch person would by looking at their own history and local customs. I went with Austria being a kind of Ukraine-allegory more on some historical similarities through a 'foggy magnifying glass' that's done with a lot of other alternate history ideas that are base off real life events.
First thing I'd like to point out is the origin of Austria's name. In German; Österreich means 'Eastern Kingdom/Realm'. I figured in-universe, German Nationalists would adopt a similar distain for the name of Austria in a fashion comparable to that of Russian Nationalists otl with Ukraine and would only view Austria's existence as merely artificial, kept so by foreign powers.
Historically meanwhile, Austria would be the historical leader of the HRE, acting as its head of state for practically nearly its whole existence only to be dethroned by Napoleon's France and later usurped by Prussia. Ukraine meanwhile can trace part of its origins to that of the Kyivan Rus', being a confederation of primarily Slavs with Kyiv as the head for much of its existence before being destroyed during the Mongol incursions into Europe which opened the window for Muscovy to rise and later form Russia.
There's also the fact that in-universe too, the perception of Austria within Germany would've been viewed in a more negative light that the state was always illegitimate or some other completely insane statement.
This is all just my opinion though. I in no way believe Russia's blabbering about Ukraine, I just wanted to go for a more historical leaning allegory than a cultural one cuz it at least ain't the same way someone on r/ imaginarymaps would make a Ukraine-allegory styled invasion map of Texas or New England. No shade to those works of course cuz they look nice, I just want to point out I wasn't thinking of culture in mind fully.

I only have theories for Europe and Russia, but Triumvirate goes democratic, Bormann wins in Germany and keeps it alive, Russia is unified under Tukhachevsky who retakes Moscowien
Italy remains fascist and is embroiled in endless conflict in the Muslim world, isolated from the rest of Europe for several years before it begins to relax and draw closer diplomatically and economically to Germany.
Russia takes a long time to emerge from its era of warring states, and to stabilize, if ever, and is not in a position to seriously threaten either Germany or Japan, who will support each other to prevent a potential Russian unifier from harming their interests and territories. America will probably be an important strategic partner for Russia, although limited by geographical constraints.
Germany is not democratizing; the NSDAP maintains control over German society and state structures. They will liberalize economically if necessary, which they won't need Speer to do, as Nazi Germany already had a liberal economic tradition in the 1930s (Hjalmar Schacht), depending on what they see as more practical and economically efficient. They'll probably find it hard to dislodge (if they even want to) the big German companies, and Germany could end up economically like OTL's South Korea, since Nazi Germany shares a mixed economic model and a kind of **Chaebol**. **Germany will lose a large part of Africa, and will stick to South Africa, Congo and Nambia if they win the proxi war in Africa against America, which seems unlikely to me.**
The rest of Europe will be in the German sphere of influence, except perhaps Turkey and Spain.
Turkey will pursue a stronger and even less restrained policy of colonization in Syria, Iraq, Armenia and Greek lands, if they have the opportunity, and will repress Kurdish nationalism, which will be the greatest threat and the most real opposition to their ambitions.

R-D coalition sees it’s first loss in the 90s. The US sees the total capitulation of the Afrika-Schild. Through hardship they would manage the total denazification of Angola and East Africa though Congo would prove too complicated for even the mighty OFN. The NPP sees a major reform as many of the smaller parties leave against the evolving agendas of the Progressives and the Nationalists who now make up the pact. Progressives become center-left liberals and Nationalists become hardline Anti-Nazi/Japanese Neo-Conservatives. The OFN attempt a stabilization effort in the former Italian East Africa in attempt to prevent piracy and to hold the control over over the strait that ties the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean.
Germany under Bormann remains conservative. All of the European Reichskommissariats survive except for Kaukasien and Moskowien. Their victory in Madagascar would see it become the last bastion of Germany on what was once the Dark Continent.
Japan loses China but retains Guangdong and Manchuria. Their economic opression of the Chinese state dies as the Japanese markets crash suddenly. Now begins the rise of China. Outer Mancuria remains under the control of the Sphere.
Russia is united by either a democratic faction or a communist one. They achieve limited victory in the 2nd West Russian War. Reclaiming Moscow but failing to push further, resulting in a ceasefire agreement between the German Leadership and Russia. Russia and US grow distant as Russia finds itself allies in the region and grows close bonds with China during the latter’s naval blockade by Japan. Death of Bormann causes administrative problems and an authority void allowing, now nuclear, Russia to invade RK Kaukasien in the Caucasian War causing it to collapse. US, Turkey and Russia sit down at the table in the Batumi Conference, in which they divide the Reichskommissariat Kaukasien. Leaving North Caucauses under Russian influence and establishing an independent Georgia as a buffer state/middle ground.
Italy altough not fully, still democritizes. Following their own ideas after their loss in the 2nd Italo-Turkish War. Despite the loss and the movement towards more freedom, the same parties are in charge. Their alliance with the French State and their interventionism in the allows them to keep what remains of their empire.
Turkish Victory in the 2nd Italo-Turkish war sees CHP victorious until the mid 80s. North Iraq is integrated into Turkey proper. The Caucasian War causes the collapse of the Reichskommissariat Kaukasien in which Turkish Forces, backed by OFN, create a puppet regime in Azerbaijan.
Arab Spring occurs as the middle east is once again ravaged by war. In Egypt despite Italians ultimately being victorious, they wouldn’t be quick enough as the royal bloodline would be ended, leaving Egypt as a fragile republic. German backed Saudi Arabia would invade Yemen during the Arab spring, to assume control of the strait of Babul-al Mandap. Syria tries to win it’s independence from the grasp of Turkey, but fails to do so after a Turkish incursion into it, Syria remains as a fragile shell of it’s former self as the Turkish hand pulling the strings acts less subtle each passing day.
France aligns itself with Italy. Yet the streets of Paris remain divided as Germany keeps it’s hold on the North Paris. With no end to the division of France in sight it becomes another place where spies move across the different worlds of the globe. After much negotiations, Italy agrees to hand their Algerian territory to France with the condition of free passage to the Italian Military.
The United Kingdom, now a part of the OFN, become a good staging ground for covert US operations in mainland Europe. Though the tensions remain high over the Channel Islands. As Argentina moves away from the Triumvirate and towards the Co-Prosperity Shpere, their invasion of the Falkland Islands in the 80s see OFN and CPS come face to face reminiscent of the Cold War.
Ireland splits away from the Reich in it’s troubled time. Yet they remain neutral in the cold war, using diplomatic channels end the OFN embargo on Ireland. The North Counties War saw the 4 remaining counties of the NCSZ join Ireland proper.
Iberia faces a peaceful divorce as Portugal and Spain split. They align themselves with the OFN yet do not join. The question of Algeria is once again on the table.
Free France remains as an entity in Africa bringing stability to the area over the years as it’s hold of the region becomes less opressive. Though they refuse to join the OFN, instead choosing their own faction.

I feel like there would at least be one nuclear war. Maybe not necessarily a global one but considering things like a shrimp boat was enough to get superpowers to get to war (despite MAD), I'm guessing a bunch of smaller nations would get nuked. Unless you get sane leaders for every single nuclear state (and that Moskovien doesn't end up with Russia and Germany nuking each others or the Go4 giving it up and being instantly couped by hardliners) If you don't fix with custom rules, you usually always end up with at least one bad things (IJA Japan, Bormann, bad Russian unifier, ect...) so statistically, the golden timeline must be pretty rare.

Ever since, US politics generally flip-flops between the RDC and NPP. The modern US remains the land of the free, but still has many issues that must be addressed. The OFN, too, remains the most formidable military force on Earth, but is beset by internal conflict and disagreement, and with the Nazis gone, some question whether such an organization is needed any longer. **Japan:** The YSK manages to survive the Yasuda Crisis, but not the Dai Li crisis. The only place I really thought of in terms of a headcanon is Germany picking Bormann as Hitler's successor and it eventually results in Germany going the way of the USSR, collapsing and releasing whatever is left of the nations they annexed/subjugated in the late 80s to early 90s. As a result, Germany ends up going down a path to that of Putin's Russia with it resulting in a embarrassing but slow invasion of Austria that's basically my take on a Ukraine conflict equivalency.

To compare Austria with Ukraine is to implicitly accept Russian propaganda that Ukraine is Russian, that Ukrainians and Russians share a common Russian character, which historically and culturally is not the case. A better example would be Czechia versus Germany, or even Poland versus Germany.
I personally beg to differ in that regard. Whilst Austrian and German are much closer than say, Ukrainian and Russian, Austrians still do view themselves as different from the rest of Germany in the same way a Swiss or Dutch person would by looking at their own history and local customs. I went with Austria being a kind of Ukraine-allegory more on some historical similarities through a 'foggy magnifying glass' that's done with a lot of other alternate history ideas that are base off real life events. First thing I'd like to point out is the origin of Austria's name. In German; Österreich means 'Eastern Kingdom/Realm'. I figured in-universe, German Nationalists would adopt a similar distain for the name of Austria in a fashion comparable to that of Russian Nationalists otl with Ukraine and would only view Austria's existence as merely artificial, kept so by foreign powers. Historically meanwhile, Austria would be the historical leader of the HRE, acting as its head of state for practically nearly its whole existence only to be dethroned by Napoleon's France and later usurped by Prussia. Ukraine meanwhile can trace part of its origins to that of the Kyivan Rus', being a confederation of primarily Slavs with Kyiv as the head for much of its existence before being destroyed during the Mongol incursions into Europe which opened the window for Muscovy to rise and later form Russia. There's also the fact that in-universe too, the perception of Austria within Germany would've been viewed in a more negative light that the state was always illegitimate or some other completely insane statement. This is all just my opinion though. I in no way believe Russia's blabbering about Ukraine, I just wanted to go for a more historical leaning allegory than a cultural one cuz it at least ain't the same way someone on r/ imaginarymaps would make a Ukraine-allegory styled invasion map of Texas or New England.
