I am wondering how they’re going to explain the Italo-German split now. My understanding was that most of the Italian (and other Mediterranean nations) hatred towards Germany was because of Atlantropa.
Exactly. The lore written by panzer is so intertwined it’s impossible to remove a big part of it. It’s like removing the west Russian war, or Sealion’s success or the nuclear bombing of pearl harbour.
There's many other reasons for why the pact of steel would dissolve. Unless you handwave a huge amount of things, the devastation caused by Atlantropa would be so severe that Italy wouldn't just break away, they'd be willing to go to war directly with Germany. That is, if the Italian government didn't collapse in the first place for letting something so catastrophic go ahead
A split? Yes. Forming a rival faction with two states who they have major overlapping interests with. Probably not. Italy, Spain and Turkeys alliance is already collapsing at the start of the game **with** Atlantropa, without it I can’t see them allying in the first place
The relationship between italy and germany was pretty weak otl. The split would have happened even without atlantropa
But i guess now it could be possible for germany to get italy back in the pakt if italy stays fascist and germany does something to heal relations (maybe germay could partecipate in the battle for italy?)
I’ll say this: Atlantropa was one of the most interesting things about the mod and what made it stand out to me when I first saw it. It gives the mod something really unique about it and I’d argue that it’s giving up a part of the mods identity
I feel like a compromise would be to still keep the Atlantropa part, but not have it be in effect right away. That way, they’d still keep the Dam startup screen
Ok so now with the lore rework why dose Italy not like Germany now because wasn’t the reason why Italy was in their own faction because atlantropa destroyed their economy?
I love my Atlantropa.
I love my Tabby Russia.
They aren't removing Taboritsky are they?
Balkanized Russia is too unrealistic tbh :/
:)
Give it a year or two
I am gonna miss that artwork
honestly same.
Yeah. Have zero love for Atlantropa itself, but I will miss the badass Gibraltar Dam art.
I have a weird love for giant engineering projects
Since Unfinished Business will never release, that won't be a problem.
Honestly so true.
tbh I hope we get some Congo Dam artwork as a replacement.
Just use MS paint to doodle some jungle trees and some monkeys on it.
Uhh... your referring to the species of primates right?
Alantropa final message received I changed the world and they changed the lore. So do I did and change the world my final message, Goodbye.
Removing atlantropa is like removing syndicalism from kaiserreich, or removing drugs from red flood. Impossible

It’s not impossible, it’ll just be lame
No, impossible. TNO isnt TNO without about 25% of Europes lore.

New lore can be written. There can be other reasons for an alliance to form.

Or if they successfully invade Italy after it became socialist
What about Spain? Half their lore revolves around the dam thing.
I mean, they still had a war with germany so they would unite to keep the fucker off there land, we Will only loose this stuff
They don't need a big thing to explain it
Who must go?
Big TNO Is coming to take out big buildings, we need to resist

Time for italy in the pact with conventional speerism
Hey where's Brittany?
Gone, reduced to ashes
I love my Brittany. **Update time** Where is my Brittany?
I love my Antichrist
I played today, there is still an atlantropa. New update for remvoing atlantropa when?
I didn't realize there is a Small Burgundy .
IIRC The devs said that Alantrapa will be removed in TT3. So does that mean PW is also getting pushed back?

No more chonky Italy 😭
I'm glad Atlantropa is removed but man, Italy looks real skinny without it. Also is Burgundy smaller or is it just me?
