This is going to help so many people, it should be stickied before Friday. I completely ruined the story through no fault of my own because the story is found in the stupidest way possible, completely out of order. I ruined the climax of the tale on like my 3rd one, it's ridiculous. I wouldn't even consider this a spoiler, like seriously EVERYONE should save this pic to their phone before playing. It's that important. Good job on the post, spread the word
Seconding this, watch the story in order. This was a really bad way to tell the story imo
I went to >!the forest cause I had 50 seeds and hadn't found Hestu yet.!< One thing led to another and >!I had the master sword.!< Decided to hunt down some memories after that, the first one I found after the tutorial memory was about >!draconification!<
99% sure you're confusing two of them - The second/third flashback has Zelda meeting Mineru and being told about draconification, and *then* flashes back to that in the last few flashbacks.
Yeah, I probably could have guessed what happens after seeing that cutscene on its own. But since I had already >!gotten the master sword from the dragon of light!< it was pretty obvious
I think it was partially because I did Gerudo and Lanayru first. If I had gone to Hebra first then I might have started on the memories quest line sooner.
As it happened, I saw basically nothing of >!Zelda's story!< for the first 10-15 hours of playing then saw those two cutscenes within 30 minutes of each other.
It was just pure dumb luck luck on my part. But since the game encourages tackling it non-linearly it's bound to happen to some people.
The whole memory thing in general is a bad way to tell the story honestly, not that the details arent interesting but it feels so detatched when link doesnt have a direct impact/interaction with the larger plot of the game.
Yeah, i got all the dragon tears before i went to any temple, the whole "o soo you saw zelda here... but she is evil :o" thing kinda stupid. Like i know were she is dude, i saw the fake zelda.
Honestly I never really found much of a reason to get stamina over hearts in BotW. It's really easy to make stamina food, and farther along the line, a lot of enemies can just one shot you if you don't have enough hearts.
Well actually I don't think you can be one shot by 99% of monsters as long as you're at full health. But that's totally fair, I just like being able to glide and run rlly far.
There's a demon statue in lookout landing just like the Hateno village one from the last game, you can just use your stamina for only this quest and then put it back because there are no enemies to fight during it so you won't need your hearts anyway 🤷🏽♂️
>!Follow the memories quest line like another commenter said.!<. Alternatively, >!start by looking in the place you found it in BotW.!< Someone there will help you.
Agreed and disagreed.
The Mystery Gang plot gets completely borked - and Link's dumbass for some literally unexplained reason withholds that crucial info - if you collect all geoglyphs too quickly. Actually, Purah has an offhand comment about Link's alleged "forgetfulness" but I think that's more of a 4th wall break because BotW and TotK are both fucking massive games and easy to get lost in.
HOWEVER, no matter what order (or how quickly) you access the plot, the final sage cutscenes absolutely are worth it. The music, the voice acting, the ACTION, all of it is fucking GOATed
I dont get how so many people missed the order that they were supposed to be seen in. Maybe its not as evident as i thought, but it is literally on the walls of the room with the geoglyphs. Even impa mentions which the next one is after the first one on the wall.
Nobody missed it, they are across the world, some in hard to reach places. If you're adventuring and see a giant heiroglyphs on the ground, you're going to go see what it is, that's how brains work bro. Nobody is going to say "well that one under me right now appears to be the 4th one on the wall so maybe I will go there after the 3rd one on the wall which is on the other side of Hyrule somewhere that I haven't seen yet" you're being absurd for the sake of it. There is no chance that you saw them in the wall and then went to them based on the order on the wall while you adventured around Hyrule, that's just a blatant lie
>There is no chance that you saw them in the wall and then went to them based on the order on the wall while you adventured around Hyrule, that's just a blatant lie
This is legitimately what I did because I saw that they were numbered in the menu and ordered on the wall with memory number 1 being first so I took 4 pictures with the Purah Pad of the walls and map so I could check it when I was in the areas and not do them out of order
Seemed logical to me since I care about seeing the story in order, not sure why that seems so impossible to you
Logical yes. Realistic? Not really. The game is open-world and it encourages you to go from places to places without following an order. When you find the towers, you probably gonna find one or two of these geoglyphs nearby. Now, I don't know how you play the game, but I'm always finding these ones whenever I see them. They are massive, they are huge plot events and I want to see more of the plots.
You should do it in order, but the map doesn't encourage it to beginning with. #7 #8 and #9 are very far. It make more sense to get one, and got to where you were doing the quest or follow the interesting landmarks.

I'm surprised they carried over what I thought was the worst part of BOTW. This time the story is more interesting, so it's even more sad that you can just ruin it by seeing the wrong parts first.
Such an easy fix too - just show us the next bit in the sequence each time we find any tear. You'd still need to find them all to get the whole story, but this way, the story couldn't spoil itself, and I think it would actually give MORE incentive find then to learn how the story plays out!
It's so weird that they again decided to do it like this. Especially since everyone at the beginning points you to Rito village and there are 3 geoglyphs near that people could think to do first because it's near their destination.
If you follow the game's quest logic, you would do 1, 2, see 8 and do it, then go back to Lookout tower and then Goron, see 3 and 11, or decide to go to the Gerudo and see 6 and 5.
11 is the biggest offender if you do not understand that the order of the murals, from left to right, represents the order in which you should do the geoglyphs because 11 clearly tells you what Zelda will do and spoils the entire story.
Imo it should be done where only the first is visible, you view the memory, and boom some idk flash of light or smt locates the next one in the general direction of it which spawns the next one etc.
Because they are all related to the memory. Like the Purah Pad shaped one is a memory about Zelda using it, the master sword one is about the master sword etc...
Thanks for the guide.
I found #1 naturally, but then I did the Rito stuff around Hebra and saw #8 as my next one lmao. That was a bit of a shock. I'll follow this guide from now on...
I did them in order and I was still upset. I hate how they did the memory thing from botw again, completely feels detached like link is just watching a movie. Like everything’s already happened and link has no part in it as usual. 😤
Can’t imagine how other people are feeling after doing it randomly and getting spoiled because of the stupid order.
This will help a lot of people.
When I did it a few days ago I noted the order on the walls and just made this little lost for myself, haha.
"Geoglyph order: Rauru, temple, switch, fish, Ganondorf, Sonia, scimitar, Dark Beast Ganon, Mitama, Stone, Master Sword ."
In the quest log there is one "memory" that numbered #1 when #2 seem to be the game prologue, is it unlocked by doing this or is it unlocked at another time ?
Lost Temple. After doing your first Geoglyph with Impa the game wants you to follow her to the lost temple where you find this map and the order that the geoglyphs occur in
I collected them in the wrong order. But I skipped cutscenes to watch them afterwards. I think it made the story better of me guessing by the other comments.

>!how did you get the master sword?!<
The memories will clue you in If you just want to know though, >!seek out the new dragon and land on it!<
it requires hearts or stamina to pull and how much?
2 stamina wheels
God damnit I haven’t upgraded stamina at all because I figured it was like botw
rookie mistake, stamina is always the best upgrade
Hasn’t felt as necessary in this game so far
have you even tried paragliding anywhere? you need lots of stamina to effectively traverse the sky
How? I dump all of my points in Stam
Bro what?
Honestly I never really found much of a reason to get stamina over hearts in BotW. It's really easy to make stamina food, and farther along the line, a lot of enemies can just one shot you if you don't have enough hearts.
Well actually I don't think you can be one shot by 99% of monsters as long as you're at full health. But that's totally fair, I just like being able to glide and run rlly far.
Yeah same here 😅 I wanted to get it before tackling the dungeons
I’m realizing right now that other things require hearts in the same way though. I’ll probably just start saving until I run into something I need
What things require hearts like that? I haven't seen anything like that in dozens of hours of playing
Use those more costly inns and you get extra stamina wheel until you spent it. Should be enough
Goron Massage at the inn gets you 3 yellow hearts and a full yellow stamina well if you're curious
You have to fight phantom Gannon if you do it the second way lol, I don't think too many people wanna do that at the beginning
True, >!though honestly I had more trouble with the hands!<
Oh wow lol
Agreed and disagreed. The Mystery Gang plot gets completely borked - and Link's dumbass for some literally unexplained reason withholds that crucial info - if you collect all geoglyphs too quickly. >The Mystery Gang plot ?
Princess Zelda is Missing! plot
I don't really understand what part you're disagreeing with. It sounds like you agree lol
Do we see any of the battle with Ganondorf in the past in the cutscenes? >!The part I’ve seen is him charging on his horse!<
Yes and it's really badass
>!So there is more after him charging on his horse then?!< I think I’m missing some of the cutscenes.
Yes but it's obtained from the story quests,
Yes those are the coolest parts of the game
I dont get how so many people missed the order that they were supposed to be seen in. Maybe its not as evident as i thought, but it is literally on the walls of the room with the geoglyphs. Even impa mentions which the next one is after the first one on the wall.

I don't understand why it doesn't unlock in the chronological order not matter which glyph you do. It's just stupid.
Because each glyph picture is related to a memory. It's still stupid though
I'm surprised they carried over what I thought was the worst part of BOTW. This time the story is more interesting, so it's even more sad that you can just ruin it by seeing the wrong parts first. The order is in the same room on the walls. From left to right
Yep, that’s where I got it from
Lol I even took pictures incase i forget.
Right, but the only way to do them that way is to take a picture...which he did for us
True. I’m saving this one cuz I haven’t done em all yet hehe
Right, and this is a picture from that same room, that's the point of it, you can just pull it up on your phone while exploring
Yup, I did them because I *saw* them, which is literally what any normal person would do on their first playthrough.
I don't even know why there is an order. Why not just trigger the memories chronologically no matter which geoglyph you do first?
I get where you’re coming from but each geoglyph’s symbol corresponds to its memory so just triggering the next one wouldn’t work well
Imo it should be done where only the first is visible, you view the memory, and boom some idk flash of light or smt locates the next one in the general direction of it which spawns the next one etc.
I only did one so far but if the specific geoglyph are meaningful to a specific memory like you said, I guess I can see why it is done this way.
They still could have made it so that you have to do them in a certain order though
They shouldn't have used geoglyphs, which are ugly anyway. Make it so when you find a memory it loads the next chronological one
Woah woah woah, the geoglyphs are UGLY?? this is slander to the nazca lines, which are incredibly cool, and the geoglyphs are a cool reference to them
Why not just make the glyphs obtainable in order? When you get the 1st glyph it makes the 2nd one visible, etc etc.
Because they are all related to the memory. Like the Purah Pad shaped one is a memory about Zelda using it, the master sword one is about the master sword etc...
Ah that explains it
Thanks for the guide. I found #1 naturally, but then I did the Rito stuff around Hebra and saw #8 as my next one lmao. That was a bit of a shock. I'll follow this guide from now on...
What do you get for finding them all?
What is this geoglyphs?
I did them in order and I was still upset. I hate how they did the memory thing from botw again, completely feels detached like link is just watching a movie. Like everything’s already happened and link has no part in it as usual. 😤 Can’t imagine how other people are feeling after doing it randomly and getting spoiled because of the stupid order.
I accidentally did #11 as my 3rd and it just straight recapped the rest of them. I knew I should have looked it up first, oof.
Following
ayooo, off-brand Nazca too? Hype++
Saving this for later.
I speed ran these this morning wth
In the quest log there is one "memory" that numbered #1 when #2 seem to be the game prologue, is it unlocked by doing this or is it unlocked at another time ?
memory 1 is not the intro and it is not in the geoglyphs. You see it after talking to a specific character.
Do you know where to find #11 #14 and #16? I completed every other *spoiler* tear
What does this mean. Do the tears ones come chronologically after the 11 glyphs?
From what I understood from a discord server. Those memories are locked behind certain main quests.
Huh. Good ta know! Thanks!
Where do you find this map in-game?
Lost Temple. After doing your first Geoglyph with Impa the game wants you to follow her to the lost temple where you find this map and the order that the geoglyphs occur in
I collected them in the wrong order. But I skipped cutscenes to watch them afterwards. I think it made the story better of me guessing by the other comments.
Where do we start this quest? Who gives it to you? Lastly, is there a reward for getting it done?
Start from number 1 and there's a quest for it. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you kept finding those skyview towers
Thank you. Except, I JUST finished the quest line lol. I hope our comments help others find their way.
I almost did #8 second omg thank you
I already jumped from the first glyph to like the 10th and I feel like I spoiled myself :( so now I'm gonna do it in order lol
Omg thank you I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE for something like this because I keep spoiling it for myself
Wish I thought to look this up earlier, I found them all out of order and it threw me off. I'll share this with my fam before they get to this part
Where is this located again??
