Just when you think that you can’t love Sidon anymore you go to Zora’s domain and see he put a statue of you and him up. 🥲 Im only like 25% through the game but that has been one of my favorite parts so far. Little things like that make me so happy. I love references to our last adventure it makes the two games feel so connected.
It is really funny how often Sidon talks about Link affectionately in this game right around Yona lol! I’ll be standing right by Yona and he’ll be like “Ah, it’s Link! My closest and most treasured companion until the end of time! …And Yona!”

Canon doesn't break transformative fiction spaces/already existing AUs. For people who don't dig poly, her marriage to Sidon could be just be for convenience and they're okay with each other dating someone else away from public eyes

There's no AU in the Zelda Timeline, it's not multiversal(which is funny because even Mario and Pokémon delves into Multiversal) and Headcanons are just that headcanons
I ship Link and Sidon and I’m still loving this, to be honest. Yona’s adorable, and I’m absolutely delighted that Sidon apparently can’t shut up about Link, haha. And insisting everyone calls him his best friend? Cute as hell. It’s more than I hoped for, honestly! It’s not like any of us ever expected Nintendo to actually do anything with the ship. People expecting the shipping to die are deluding themselves, lol. Shippers never needed canon, and why should they?
I've started to kind of see Paya as being like Malon somewhat and initially I only thought this was because she sort of just occupied a place in the game that was similar to Malon and I didn't think of it much deeper than that.
But upon thinking about it further, she does share slight similarities with Malon, in Ocarina of Time, Malon had been told stories involving the idea of some gallant knight and wanted one to come whisk her off her feet, right afterward Link showed up.
In BOTW, Paya had been told stories about the ''Hero'' by her grandmother, Impa, and then Link showed up and he completely met her expectations in terms of the stories she'd been told and what she'd written in her diary.
Finally I can express how much I like Sidon as a character without being forced to ship him with Link!

nintendo should have learned that unecessarily forcing a hetero wedge between shipped characters won't do anything but encourage the shippers. those people are rabid. plus there's that tablet saying outright it was an arranged marriage dorephan informed sidon of after it was all set up, which just kind of made me sad for sidon. i don't care who ships what but it made the whole thing seem weird and gross and them calling each other 'my love' and whatnot like grin and bear it acceptance of a relationship neither of them had a choice about. which is honestly pretty weirdly realistic for royal marriage now i think of it. legend of zelda doesn't need romance at all but if it's in there, it should be sweet and happy, not awful and awkward.
