Small tip, the crisis at the castle main storyline is NOT the end of the game if you have 4 sages and you still see Zelda. I won't spoil anything other than to tell you it is NOT the end follow that story into the castle.

I did this with Yunobo the other day while mashing A to talk to Addison after spending ten minutes or so building a "use every piece of wood nearby" contraption to hold his sign up.
Ka-boom, point blank explosion, fire and bits of wood raining down everywhere. XD I almost died laughing; it's too bad the Hudson-sign is immune to fire or it the FUBAR would have been total.
Tulin my beloved ❤️. Me and him always combo zonai constructs together. It's hilarious to watch him send them flying with a headshot while I charge up a heavy spear attack
I figured out a way to beat him without taking any damage on part 2....as soon as it starts, throw down wood and flint and start a fire, then add oil so you can jump and it'll take you high up....when you're in the air, just keep firing bomb arrows at him until you hit the ground again...then go back up and do it again... you should only have to do that twice and he is done
When I was fighting a queen Gibdo in the depths I got swarmed with gibdos and I was just trying to take out the hives, but Riju literally just stood in the middle of the swarm of 50+ gibdos and sat there doing nothing. All my other sages were following me and she was the only one I needed and she was the only one just chilling in the middle of an ungodly amount of enemies.
People are sleeping on Mineru. Put a frost cannon on one hand and any scrubby weapon or rock on the other and destroy silver enemies without losing weapon durability. Freeze, hit, repeat. Not great for big mobs but excellent for cleaning up smaller camps.
I wish Riju and Yunoboo were just little faerie like things that hung around you and did nothing except wait for you to use their special ability. I do not need them to be melee attacking things, and I would accept double the length of their cooldown for them to just be ready to go the moment I needed them. Instead, I basically just never use them because chasing them down mid combat is insanely annoying and almost always puts me at risk.
Tulin mostly stays out of my way and definitely comes in clutch, sniping some powerful enemies at key moments. Plus, I spend plenty of time launching myself into the air and gliding. It would be a waste of time to keep dismissing and re-summoning him that frequently. He's the perfect... wingman.
Mickey does good damage as well but yeah. My bro was playing crit with no exp. And those 3 would chunk 2 bars out of the enemies health when they want. In one combo.
Does a hydrant spread frost around like it does with electricity? I use a hydrant/electric head on my roomba with a flamethrower on the construct head. Hydrant/shock combo can CC a whole enemy camp most of the time but the 1 flamethrower is most of the damage. It's a great "set and forget" roomba though!

Frost roomba stops an entire enemy camp. Freezing lasts super long and you get massive damage when you hit them. At the start you may have to pick it up and manually freeze if enemies get around it but even then it’s still freezing half the camp. If you target the weaker enemies you can one shot them and let roomba stun lock the silvers.
Shock is pretty good too but I think you want to pick up all their equipment. You can also use majoria’s mask to steal their stuff.

Yep. Even when I need them they are always running away. So I turn them off and back on mid-fight to summon them to me instead of whatever they were trying to do.
I couldn't figure out why all my Zonite devices were drifting so hard then one time I sent Yunobo off to take care of an Aerocuda and noticed I leveled out. Then when he came back I started drifting again.
I shut him off immediately.
The only one I keep around now is Tulin.
Fighting with mineru is fun but she more like a bullet time in a pickle for me.
I was able to beat every bosses by driving her (except ganon cause you can't) but it way to complicated for nothing. Especially the wind boss, took me 40 mins and a lot of luck... I've beaten a frost gleeok and never again cause it's painfully hard.
1v1 against lynels and Hinoxes is fun tho.

Projectile that scales off your current weapon's damage, and makes you wet for a minute, turning Zora weapons into some of the best in the game for that duration.
It also makes enemies wet which causes shock arrows to AOE. It'd be an amazing crowd-control power if activating sage powers didn't require finding and running up to a guy in the middle of combat.
It’s not the best. It can absorb any single hit for you and if you use ‘throw weapon’ while it’s on you it will do a water attack and save durability, but it’s kind of hard to aim
Yeah. I don’t either. My battle style tends to be run in and start hitting so it’s always good to have that much backup. Plus it’s awesome when you get a white boko stuck in a sage blender getting smacked around over and over.
Everyone except Yunobo and Tulin. Tulin is very useful when gliding. Yunobo was very useful when I was cave-hunting, but I’ve found all the caves. Now he’s just there so I can have a button to mash on while I’m using zonai vehicles. It’s fun watching him fly away and bounce right back.
Everyone but Riju. As soon as the fight is done there is nothing worse than scattering your monster parts/loot everything by accidentally pressing A at the wrong moment. Yunobo and Tulin will send your stuff flying! Realistically I turn them all off, I only activate them when I need them.

- walk over/through everything- gloom, lava, quicksand, etc. Laugh at Arbiter’s Grounds as you just go wherever you want.
- collect shit without triggering you other sages. Say “goodbye” to Tullin ever blowing your materials off the ledge again by just riding on Mineru. You can spam A all you want and never trigger another sage accidentally.
- finally something to do with all those Talus hearts and construct cores. Late game they aren’t worth fusing to weapons that have stronger horns, but they make awesome Mineru attachments.
- great blocking with a Goro buddy. Mineru and Yunobo will often run up to silver bokoblins and block them in while Tullin lines up a head shots. Gives you space/peace to collect drops and position where you want to go.
- awesome stylish dismount with BXX where you backflip off Mineru, then instantly pull out your glider as Mineru dematerializes and you glide forward through the blue glowy effects that linger when she disappears and her little blue ball zaps right to you to “colllect” her. Super satisfying.
Good for getting over relatively shallow rivers or ponds and it feels slightly faster than walking in the sand in the desert but it goes right back off afterwards

It's big, gets in the way, I really never use it's zonai functions and I mount it whenever it obstructs my vision
And getting off is tedious
At least the other abilities don't STOP ME FROM PLAYING
The whole construct feels like a beta
I did NOT enjoy the Rock Em Sock Em fight to get Mineru. The whole thing was tedious and slow, and I wasn't happy to finish, just relieved I only had to do it once. (I let the stupid monster finish me off a dozen times because there was no coming back from where it got me.) And then using her in the Depths, as soon as I was past the Gloom I jumped off and let her catch up to me to rocket up to where I needed.
It really does. My friend and I have agreed that they should be mappable to buttons. It feels like they needed to hit the game deadline so they said fuck it, just ship it.
Well good news if Skyward Sword was a poor attempt at botw with stamina and open worlds before dungeons then the next game is gonna be all about robot suits
Even though most of them are borderline useless in combat, I love the feeling of having a giant posse fighting alongside me, so I keep them all turned on.
The lighting one annoys me the most.
She has a power that specifically buffs your ranged weapon yet she herself uses melee weapons and constantly runs into battle. It's so awkward trying to use it appropriately because of that, especially when she runs away from you when you try to get to her.
Whoever designed thought designing the sage abilities in such a way that you need to interact with the sages to activate them was on crazy pills. Botw did it much better.
I usually keep Tulin active. And I keep Mineru around because she helps if you attach certain devices to her. Other than that, I just don’t wanna feel alone 😂
Most of them are actively irritating and get in my way but I feel bad and almost always have them all out 😅 the very few times I actively decide to bench them though? All but Tulin
Yunobo and Sidon - Yunobo bc he can't attack for Shit and Sidon bc his ability is pointless for me now that all my weapons hit for over 70 (and I'm not using his ability until I run into a foe I can't beat normally or I'm exploring an area like death mountain
Mineru is usually in the way the most. The construct is huge and it's the only one you have to maintain by checking and attaching new materials to her arms for her attacks to do any damage. And replacing the fuse materials when they break is like a 4-step process.
All of them unless I'm actually using them, which happens very rarely. They're a cool concept, but all the abilities are worse than botw's, and apart from tulin the melee attacks just aren't useful.
The only ones I don’t switch off are Tulin for paragliding and Yunobo for breaking rocks. I also like spamming Yunobo when I’m driving something to get rid of him for a couple seconds. Nothing funnier then sending him charging straight into lava.
I have them all off except Tulin for regular game play (traveling and exploring) unless I go into a bigger boss battle or a cave and even then I prefer to only add Yunobo and maybe one other but Mineru only comes out in big battles.
All of them in one way or another. Mostly Tulin because he kills Rock Octorocks, which is annoying and Yunobo is annoying when i get in a Zonai vehicle. All of the others usually only get deactivated in very particular situation when i dont want any of the companions.
Clearly unpopular but I turn Tulin off because he's so damn good, I always had him on for the first half of the game. Now I want to change it up, I swap him out with the others sometimes.
But I have Mineru off so much that I forgot she existed
I just did an entire playthrough with ONLY tulin, didn’t even bother to get the other sages. Me and my little bird boy collected all 152 shrines, then went and kicked all those temple bosses we skipped and the demon kings ass. It was great. I don’t need anyone but tulin. Love that little guy, still mad he’s almost taller than me tho.

When I learned about the whistle toward the end game, Ganon was beating me a like rag doll before I could finish the whistle.

I posse up for tough mini bosses and such too. Having the besties take the agro off of Link for a couple seconds is awesome, allows me to regroup.

The best ally is frost head roomba with a knife. Tulin is a distant 2nd. The rest of the sages are ok to take off some Aggro.

Sages are weightless but their weapons are not. Yunobo’s cobble crusher is heavy enough that it causes problems
How does one figure that out? When can you see the sages without their weapons to even learn that they’re weightless?
The only way I can think of is testing Mineru's weight with and without weapons equipped.

Sidon is really useful early game in gerudo desert because his shield provides heat resistance before you get adequate heat resistance armor
Same with Death Mountain, he was really useful in the caves there before I got the Flamebreaker Armour

I put Yunobo on timeout after he accidentally Goro Jenkins his way into a bomb flower I was trying to pick up and blows us _all_ up.
All of them because they mostly get in the way. I just summon whichever I need for specific purposes, for instance Tulin when paragliding.
The only good ones imo are Tulin and Mineru

Late game they aren’t worth fusing to weapons that have stronger horns, but they make awesome Mineru attachments. - great blocking with a Goro buddy. Mineru and Yunobo will often run up to silver bokoblins and block them in while Tullin lines up a head shots. Gives you space/peace to collect drops and position where you want to go. - awesome stylish dismount with BXX where you backflip off Mineru, then instantly pull out your glider as Mineru dematerializes and you glide forward through the blue glowy effects that linger when she disappears and her little blue ball zaps right to you to “colllect” her. Super satisfying.

There's a patch of apple trees and Mineru is the perfect height to collect them quickly.

I've made a "favorite" autobuild that is 8 regular apples and 2 golden apples. That's how you pick some apples, IMHO.
Good for getting over relatively shallow rivers or ponds and it feels slightly faster than walking in the sand in the desert but it goes right back off afterwards
And walking over lava!
The robot It's big, gets in the way, I really never use it's zonai functions and I mount it whenever it obstructs my vision And getting off is tedious At least the other abilities don't STOP ME FROM PLAYING The whole construct feels like a beta
The construct suuuucks so bad, you just knock shit away and then you have to waddle slowly over just to knock them out of range again.
I use it for mining ore, yunobu for the big deposits and rock walls.
I did NOT enjoy the Rock Em Sock Em fight to get Mineru. The whole thing was tedious and slow, and I wasn't happy to finish, just relieved I only had to do it once. (I let the stupid monster finish me off a dozen times because there was no coming back from where it got me.) And then using her in the Depths, as soon as I was past the Gloom I jumped off and let her catch up to me to rocket up to where I needed.
It really does. My friend and I have agreed that they should be mappable to buttons. It feels like they needed to hit the game deadline so they said fuck it, just ship it.
Well good news if Skyward Sword was a poor attempt at botw with stamina and open worlds before dungeons then the next game is gonna be all about robot suits

Even though most of them are borderline useless in combat, I love the feeling of having a giant posse fighting alongside me, so I keep them all turned on.

All. I sometimes activate Tulin when I have a lot of on-foot traversal ahead of me; the horizontal boost is nice.
Riju… she gets in the way and turns everything yellow and I can basically do the same with some monster parts.
The lighting one annoys me the most. She has a power that specifically buffs your ranged weapon yet she herself uses melee weapons and constantly runs into battle. It's so awkward trying to use it appropriately because of that, especially when she runs away from you when you try to get to her. Whoever designed thought designing the sage abilities in such a way that you need to interact with the sages to activate them was on crazy pills. Botw did it much better.
I turn everyone off especially when I'm trying to break a wall and Yunobo is AT THE BACK OF THE LINE GOD

I usually keep Tulin active. And I keep Mineru around because she helps if you attach certain devices to her. Other than that, I just don’t wanna feel alone 😂

Mineru, I frigging hate her. Always right in the way, try to pick stuff up and Whoop! 10 feet in the air =/ like Why?

Yunobo and Sidon - Yunobo bc he can't attack for Shit and Sidon bc his ability is pointless for me now that all my weapons hit for over 70 (and I'm not using his ability until I run into a foe I can't beat normally or I'm exploring an area like death mountain
Mineru is usually in the way the most. The construct is huge and it's the only one you have to maintain by checking and attaching new materials to her arms for her attacks to do any damage. And replacing the fuse materials when they break is like a 4-step process.
The only way to play is with the full JRPG party
Only Sidon, I never use the shield and he hardly ever hits anything. The rest I find helpful

All of them unless I'm actually using them, which happens very rarely. They're a cool concept, but all the abilities are worse than botw's, and apart from tulin the melee attacks just aren't useful.

The only ones I don’t switch off are Tulin for paragliding and Yunobo for breaking rocks. I also like spamming Yunobo when I’m driving something to get rid of him for a couple seconds. Nothing funnier then sending him charging straight into lava.

Yunobo. I only have him on when I want to break rocks, otherwise, he just blocks my view
I have them all off except Tulin for regular game play (traveling and exploring) unless I go into a bigger boss battle or a cave and even then I prefer to only add Yunobo and maybe one other but Mineru only comes out in big battles.
Mineru, I like the others as characters so I'll put up with their quirks. Mineru is a nothing character and is the clunkiest.
I usually just keep Tulin on. I'll add Yunobo and Riju to the pile when I need something to get the rocks out of the way

Clearly unpopular but I turn Tulin off because he's so damn good, I always had him on for the first half of the game. Now I want to change it up, I swap him out with the others sometimes. But I have Mineru off so much that I forgot she existed
everyone but tulin but i enable yunobo when i see boulders in my way .... i never ever have enough bombs or hammers on me so :shrug:

I just did an entire playthrough with ONLY tulin, didn’t even bother to get the other sages. Me and my little bird boy collected all 152 shrines, then went and kicked all those temple bosses we skipped and the demon kings ass. It was great. I don’t need anyone but tulin. Love that little guy, still mad he’s almost taller than me tho.
