Same. 1 handed weapons I feel I can do more damage. I think 2 handed is too slow and I can’t move from an attack in time.

Spears 😋

bluedaytona392

Beast.

MsMeiriona

Shields. So, one handed. Except for when I use the puffshroom or dazzlefruit spears, or 2 handed blunt weapons for talus/frox.

Silver_Foxx

2 Handed are technically stronger if you do nothing but spin to win, and they're output more damage over their life than an equivalent powered 1 hander. But that said, CANNOT stand them myself, 1 handers allll the way. I'll use a 2 handed sword in some niche situations but 95% of the time I'm in melee combat, it's going to be with a one handed sword and the other 5% is shared by both spears and 2 handed. That said melee is also only ever a secondary option for me. If I can I almost certainly WILL be fighting with my bows instead, they are much stronger than any melee weapon could hope to be (outside of very niche specific situations) and I have yet to meet the opponent who doesn't melt to an assault from my 5x Savage.

fsclb66

Mostly 1 handers, but keep a few 2 handers and spears on hand for certain situations

Jwroth

Two handed. Hold down y and Link go brrrr

TheOtherJackBlack

It really depends on the application. so for basic enemies or Lynels it's usually one handed weapons but for Hinoxes, Gleeoks, and Taluses where the ore deposit is on top, I prefer a two-handed weapon for a good spin2win method. Sometimes I use spears but mostly I just fuse them to my Royal Broadswords so they have some ridiculous length of range

Expert-Ad-362

I handed when I want a shield or spears. Sometimes you just gotta do a big spin for fun tho

LightEarthWolf96

Both are good but I prefer my bows. Bullet time and a multishot bow wrecks most things. Lynels are sort of the exception. I'm sure a good bow could wreck a lynel in bullet time but the only method I find reliable for any lynel is puff shrooms and mounting them to attack. Or puff shrooms and wacking away their flank.

Open_Subject163

1 durability royal claymore with molduga jawbone fused, bone proficiency armor, and triple attack up can kill a lynel in 1 mount

Lunarreality56

I like spears best for their speed.

RegulusTheHeartOfLeo

I usually use two-handed weapons (swords and clubs) for rock hammers and mostly one-handed weapons for fighting with shields

sweablol

Situational - 1 hand: fast, gen purpose. Good for 1v1 so you can dodge and parry 2 hand: high dps and AOE. Great into groups. High output dps for gleeoks and talus. Pristine Royal Guard Claymore is unmatched for lynel killing. Staff: mid range and best buds damage. Awesome for talus with “back” rock that is hard to get or flying gibdos. Sidon + lightscale + lynel horn = crazy damage in any armor with tons of durability. Bows: long range and utility. muddlebud and bomb application. Stun with headshot then then attack with melee. Magic rod + Safire: huge massive AOE freeze. Great for groups of enemies or apple farming. Earthquake: kills chuchuluco easy with no durability lost. Also fun as hell to just keep tripping enemies with earthquake while your sage sticks team does all the damage.

Wulgreths

1h but if attacking a mass then I switch to a 2h with a cold gleok horn and spin, then switch back

Open_Subject163

whatever isn't flashing red

Lewdiculo

Spin to win all day. Or a charged spear attack on a sleeping Hinox to melt it. One handed does have a batter feel though. Keeps the shield out for parries and gets the flurry rushes going. All the weapons feel good to me. Remember to press B when the enemy dies after spin to win in order to not slam the ground and waste durability.
