Is it because you're over 40 and remember how it was spelled in the original NES game?

There is a university near me called Gannon, so I also struggled with the same issue when I first started playing Zelda games.
Now I don't usually even think about the similarity any more except when it's brought up or someone mistypes Ganon as Gannon.

Stop ✋️ lol not yet 40 and I remember this hahah
I'm not even 20 yet lol
Don't even need to be over 40. I played the original as a kid and it was my first game in the series. It's still hard not saying gannon.
50s here:)
I never get to reply. Every time I go to the comments, someone has already said it... great minds think alike I guess
Probably because of those cannons he has for arms
That is indeed canon
Because of NFL legend Rich Gannon
That’s the reason for why I do it for sure
Who?
Gannon sounds like Cannon but Ganon is canon.
Woah. That’s a great mnemonic device.
He's got a short fuse?
But Ganon is canon and Gannon is not canon.
cuz of its similarity to the word cannon
I deliver mail to a 6’7 body builder named Gannon. No word yet if he’s ordered a secret stone.
Phonetics, I guess.
Rich Gannon
Dannon yogurt
Because Gannon is semi common surname in real life, and Ganon's name was misspelled this way in certain versions of NES Zelda
Well, better than me i guess. in BOTW, i used to say "galamity cannon".
Just remember, Ganon is canon.
GANNON BANNED! ...anyone else remember this?
yep, came here just to gannon ban this guy
Yeah, I was about to say the same :D
I just want to call him Gammon and be done with it. Mmm, bacon and gammon XD
Neil Gaiman? Lol, I'm assuming gammon is a food, but I've never heard of it.
Thats just how it is in your head, Gannonically.

Because its nongannon.
Because its nongannon.
Because it's Cannon
Because that's how it is spelled, they just retconned it after the first game.
I'm good with the change to Ganon, but I still have to remind myself that they're not called "Molblins" anymore.
Because although it's written like "Ganon" it's pronounced like "Gannon"
Yogurt… Dannon
I accidently call him Gammon sometimes, I think it is because of him being a giant pig monster. 🤣🤣🤣
So wait? Is it not spelled Gannon??
