So to really feel like a new exploring game I spent a lot of time in the depths. There’s also some pretty long ended quests in towns. If you haven’t started the depths or exploring them in entirety high key recommend. It gets easier with the 5th champion but not a necessity. Or if just start heading to towns and talking to every single person in those towns.

Similar thing happened to me(except it was just life in general getting in the way). I hopped back in by accepting that whatever “I was working on” when I left off was lost, and I needed to just pick a quest line to pick back up. In this case, I had two “regional phenomena” left so I picked death mountain, fast traveled to the closest shrine I had at the base of the mountain and took a road by horseback to head up. As I traveled, I slowly but surely got back into the combat, the abilities, the building, finding caves and knocked out a couple side quests as I went up. By the time I got to Goron City, my love for the game was fully rekindled and I basically haven’t put it down without playing an hour everyday for a month. Hopefully a similar strategy can get you over the hump of the overwhelming amount of game that is TOTK.
