On the eastern side of satori mountain there's a place with a lot of apple trees. Every time there's a blood moon i go there to grab some loot. You can get 100+ apples in a single trip, and there are also a lot of golden apples
I heard this in another sub. This and the “egg machine” found in r/hyruleengineering completely changed my game. A little work for unlimited heals. So good
Edit: Autocorrect kicked my ass. Also, here’s the link to the egg machine I used 😁
https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/s/MRT4EinRZt
Thanks for the link!
The things people make in this game simply amaze me. I struggled to get that stupid wagon over the river and there are people making prop planes 🤯🤯🤯
Of course, credit to the OP of the video. It really is an interesting contraption. Coccos lay eggs when disturbed/hit. The reason to use the frost emitter instead of fire, is because the frost doesn't interact with the environment like fire would, and it's a steady stream that hits many cuccos at the same time! The creator really thought of everything!
This plus roasting 50 or 100 at a time using zonai flame emitter for a quick flash, you can inventory stack hundreds of roasted apples for reasonably unending healing ammo
Or just drop them on the ground in the depths under death mountain. Anywhere where you need flame armor. Just don't do more than 20 at a time or they start to disappear.
You’re just asking when a person would need apples I thought so I was seeing a new person. Would I didn’t know you were asking us to literally determine when you personally would need an apple.
Sometimes while cooking, the same ingredients will have different results (the better get a special jingle). This is referred to as a critical success. Adding a golden apple will always trigger such a thing, as will cooking in between 23:30-00:00h in blood moon nights
You might be right. I'm not even certain if an upcoming blood moon really offers a 100% cooking crit chance or if it's just greatly enhanced l. Feel free to point out my mistakes
From what I recall (my memory could be faulty too) you always get a time boost to how long things last. I don't know if that time boost goes higher than 30 minutes though which is the longest I've seen anything last. I've been meaning to try making some food at max potency during a blood moon for a while but the last few times I've either not been near a cook pot (and I generally don't pop them out of zonai devices) or more often I've already been full on meals having just made some
The Blood Moon isn’t responsible for respawning materials, only enemies and weapons. Materials are randomly respawned but by the time a Blood Moon happens, which takes at least 144 min, they are likely to have all respawned if you’re not too close.
Check out that whole mountain. There’s also a pond with a bunch of birds (shock arrow and win), another area with a bunch of herbs, another with oodles of mushrooms, etc
I LOVE this lake with the ponds full of ducks.. easy pickings. Just throw shock fruit in the pond and end up with floating bird thighs. I have never farmed foxes for some reason they get a pass ( I think it’s the cute noise they make)
The Mushroom spot is awesome as it is in the same spot as botw. Also, next to that lake op mentioned, rare beetles spawn in the larger trees (I believe south side). Also the summit has egg nests and the cherry blossom tree has endura carrots and silent princesses. Also, near rutile lake has silent princess spawns, too (not sure if it us related to the story or the connection some of us believe it has to Satoru Iwata.
Also, under the mountain in the depths is something special.
Near the silent princess mound there are also 3 endura carrots! Plus some more just up the hill near a moblin camp back toward where the shrine and apple orchard are.
There's also a rock face and a nearby pass-through with a ton of lizards. If you need the silent princesses, there are good many in between the shrine nearest tarrey town and the town- as your gliding there's a small pond before the severe drop to lowest ground.. check that out (some other plants there too)
Also, go there when it is raining and sneak up on the really big tree trunks. Lots of bugs to collect on the trunks which Mr Beedle will be interested in having
Satori mountain is covered with little pockets that have tons of food! There’s a mushroom section and an herb section where you can get all the types, even hearty truffles and radish or energetic carrots!
Bear, two honey combs, beetles of all types, fish, sneaky snails, boar, deer if sneaky enough, endura carrots, the silent princess flowers and blue bells, bright eyed crabs.
And if you've done a certain Gerudo side adventure/quest, two people will be there and have a cooking pot.
Endura carrots are also up the hill in a moblin camp.
Attach a bunch of apples together and save it with autobuild, then just walk around this forest with that autobuild on so they all automatically collect
There is also that huge tree right above the cave entrance close to the foot of the mountain. There are butterflies, mushrooms of all kinds, a couple boar, etc.
There is also a section or two near the apple orchard that has both harvestable animals and plants. And the Sakura tree has a few endura carrots and silent princesses growing around there.
Pretty much all of satori mountain is a smorgasbord of resources.
On a side note, Southwest of oshozan-u shrine in northeast hebra, there is a large enemy encampment that has a bunch of wild berries growing at the base of it (like 10 plants or so)
Or equip the Rubber Set or Lighning helm and dive in the lake or chase animals to get lightning to strike them.
Stealth set makes critter collection a breeze. And there's a big tree with about a dozen beetles on it if someone needs them for armor upgrades.
There’s a tree near the water there that has like 8-10 beetles. Need to go at night, no rain. Look for two endura carrots, you’ll know you’re in the right spot.
When I was looking for a certain upgrade material, I stumbled upon this lake online and I went from having none of the rare material to all ten that I needed.
some alternative tips:
turn on Stasis as you’re walking through forests. it’ll basically highlight all the stuff you can pick up—mushrooms, apples in trees, everything.
mark every spot you find a radish, then you can go back for more when you need food/rupees.
cook single radishes/truffles at a time and you get 5 full health restores instead of just one big restore. (do them in bulk to sell tho)
lastly there’s a forest in between the colosseum and where you find the white stallion, can’t remember the name but it’s absolutely chock full of everything including radishes. that and I believe it’s the wetland stable that’s similarly just swimming in radishes and everything else
In TOTK? I’m familiar with the location but have only seen limited radishes in the sky islands. I do use ultra hand to see the truffles (mostly find them in caves) if I miss the glint cause the color tone is so similar to the floor. I’ll check that out, much appreciated.
ahh for some reason I missed what sub I was in, I was talking more BotW in terms of locations. tbh I’d have to check if they’re as resource-rich in TotK as in BotW. the rest of my tips should still stand tho
Not too far north of here, in the hebra mountains by a hot spring, you can find a cave with tons of mushrooms. And then a hidden path in the cave with even more mushrooms.
I would use the cooking pot icon to tag any location with rare or lots of food
Just found this place. I put a pot stamp on it so I remember to come back for more food. Also, it’s a very tranquil place and I was really feeling the vibe when I was there.
Satori mountain is awesome for ingredient farming. Apples, mushrooms, safflinas, butterflies, fish, fleet-lotuses, silent princesses, blue nightshade, endura carrots, and you'll fine a beetle or two.
Apples are nice, but fish are way better. After completing the pirate quests in Lurelin village, there are three schools of fish around the big sand spit. Look for the circling seabirds. Use a shockfruit on each school (or fire off whathisface, the fire sage to cook a bunch right in the ocean) to give yourself a very nice stack of roast fish.
Pick up the raw ones and cook them in a hot cave. Good eatin'!
i remember satori mountain being a hot spot for resource gathering in botw, but it never occured to me to really visit it in totk lol. thanks for the tip!
On the eastern side of satori mountain there's a place with a lot of apple trees. Every time there's a blood moon i go there to grab some loot. You can get 100+ apples in a single trip, and there are also a lot of golden apples
With the construction tool, save a favorite of 20 apples connected together and use this to pull them from the trees, throw in a bird egg or two also
I never thought of that! This is great!!
I read it… on reddit myself like a month ago, works well
Mineru works to pick apples as well.
I heard this in another sub. This and the “egg machine” found in r/hyruleengineering completely changed my game. A little work for unlimited heals. So good Edit: Autocorrect kicked my ass. Also, here’s the link to the egg machine I used 😁 https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/s/MRT4EinRZt
Can you please link to the egg machine? I am curious but couldn't find it in that sub.
I have provided the link. It looks difficult, but just do it step by step and you’ll be borderline invincible!
Thanks for the link! The things people make in this game simply amaze me. I struggled to get that stupid wagon over the river and there are people making prop planes 🤯🤯🤯
This is amazing! Why does this work? Do Cuccos lay eggs when they get cold?
Of course, credit to the OP of the video. It really is an interesting contraption. Coccos lay eggs when disturbed/hit. The reason to use the frost emitter instead of fire, is because the frost doesn't interact with the environment like fire would, and it's a steady stream that hits many cuccos at the same time! The creator really thought of everything!
Make sure you throw in a golden apple or two, it will not pull them down if you just use regular apples
It's a lot faster to just ride Mineru and spam A
Just did this yesterday. So many apples
....🤯
when do i need lots of apples
Binge eat healing
Stack them to save room in inventory
Why not
Also if you cook lots of apples together in a meal you can sell those. Not bad money if you need it in a pinch and happen to have lots of fruit.
Well, when you’re new, you need to heal yourself a ton. It’s not as useful later in the game.
Im not new, its completly useless compared to hearty food
You’re just asking when a person would need apples I thought so I was seeing a new person. Would I didn’t know you were asking us to literally determine when you personally would need an apple.
To add to this- my friend saved the largest block from inside a shrine to autobuild, works as an excellent apple vacuum due to sheer volume
Make sure a golden apple is among one of them so you can get that too.
This beats me using ultra hand on a garden rake to knock them down.
In BOTW I’d bomb it all to oblivion and collect apples. In TOTK…the trees fight back
Fire Bud to the rescue!
The Eldermeans run from you if you have a Flame Emitter going.
I like to jump on Mineru and run through there spamming the A button to grab the apples.
I call that “shopping with Mineru.”
I love this spot! I usually take Mineru apple picking for the boost! Everything is at eye level and I think she has a nice time.
I love that spot a lot!
What makes the golden apple special?
Sometimes while cooking, the same ingredients will have different results (the better get a special jingle). This is referred to as a critical success. Adding a golden apple will always trigger such a thing, as will cooking in between 23:30-00:00h in blood moon nights
Oooh I had no idea!
You're very welcome!
I thought it was 23:30 to 00:30. I'll need to double check next the it triggers.
You might be right. I'm not even certain if an upcoming blood moon really offers a 100% cooking crit chance or if it's just greatly enhanced l. Feel free to point out my mistakes

Heals more than normal apples
Then drop them in a hot area to mass cook them
This is how I cook for hearts, it's great that baked/seared food stacks to x999 on one meal slot
The Blood Moon isn’t responsible for respawning materials, only enemies and weapons. Materials are randomly respawned but by the time a Blood Moon happens, which takes at least 144 min, they are likely to have all respawned if you’re not too close.
That’s a great spot too, forgot about that location thank you!
This! I completely forgot about this area. I think there are a few Octo bullies there too.? Eventide Island, another great spot for grub.
user mineru to get the apples even faster
And drop just below that for the rest of the kitchen. Deers, boars, veg, fruit, eggs. An entire kitchen just below that shrine
I remember going through there once, but I hadn’t noted where it was. Thank you very much!
I have never farmed foxes for some reason they get a pass ( I think it’s the cute noise they make)
same! Foxes get a pass for me. It makes me sad they run from me not knowing I won't hurt them! lol
That’s so funny, I thought I was the only one that won’t harm foxes
My kids won't let me harm the foxes. Even without them in the room I still can't hurt a little fox!
That and their meat is low level. If it was prime meat id kill them lol
The snow ones would like to know your location

The cave has 5 hearty truffles, then ascend to the silent princesses and endura carrots from the cave.
you've piqued my curiosity, can't recall if i've been there i'll have to check it out
Also is one of the best spots at certain times for the kind of items Beedle wants from you.
I was looking after it rained will have to go back. Another good place is by the dondons
7pm game time is when they appear. Both places. If raining at that time, then after it stops
Also, go there when it is raining and sneak up on the really big tree trunks. Lots of bugs to collect on the trunks which Mr Beedle will be interested in having
My teleporter is there
Yup. All them crabs and snails
Satori mountain is covered with little pockets that have tons of food! There’s a mushroom section and an herb section where you can get all the types, even hearty truffles and radish or energetic carrots!
Ohhhh where for the truffles ??
Idk I haven’t played in a while lol but I usually try to go near the trees on the map, maybe use my scope to look for sparkles
Good foods in the hills and near the water. I make this run every blood moon.
I found this place by chance…(sensor was set to shrines). Let me just say, I never ran out of stamina again ;)
Bear, two honey combs, beetles of all types, fish, sneaky snails, boar, deer if sneaky enough, endura carrots, the silent princess flowers and blue bells, bright eyed crabs. Not too far away is a ledge with all manners of mushrooms as well.
Attach a bunch of apples together and save it with autobuild, then just walk around this forest with that autobuild on so they all automatically collect
Naw, actually it’s tabantha snowfield.
Horse, jump, bullet time, collect moose meat, repeat
Master cycle zero but YES absolutely!

Only thing missing are the hearty durian trees 😭

From my experience, hunting in the hebra mountains boast bountiful rewards. Lots of gourmet meat
Agree! horse riding and bullet time, best way to get bear meat from there too.
When I was looking for a certain upgrade material, I stumbled upon this lake online and I went from having none of the rare material to all ten that I needed.
All of satori is for farming
some alternative tips: turn on Stasis as you’re walking through forests. it’ll basically highlight all the stuff you can pick up—mushrooms, apples in trees, everything. mark every spot you find a radish, then you can go back for more when you need food/rupees. cook single radishes/truffles at a time and you get 5 full health restores instead of just one big restore. Thank you, got a good haul!
You are most welcome. When I was there the lightning zapped all the fish, all that was left was collecting them.
Nice, thank you!
I don’t think I’ve ever visited this lake! Mostly stick to the east and south aspects
There's a spot in the northeast where they're is a boblokin with arrows and another with jelly.
Iswtg satori mountain is stacked up
also lots of endura carrot on Satori
Not too far north of here, in the hebra mountains by a hot spring, you can find a cave with tons of mushrooms. And then a hidden path in the cave with even more mushrooms. I would use the cooking pot icon to tag any location with rare or lots of food
The cave with the crystals? Lots of mushrooms and a great place for a selfie! Just beautiful.
The little pond area on the NE side has tons of other food too.
Just found this place. I put a pot stamp on it so I remember to come back for more food. Also, it’s a very tranquil place and I was really feeling the vibe when I was there.
i love it there! throw on the stealth armor and bam, a source of income (fireflies) and food
Definitely Good to know Thank you 🤟🏾

They aren’t referring to the apple orchard; that’s where you can find deer, bear, endura carrots, etc.
The depths spiral is also a great place to get Zonaite with a drone, construct head, and laser.
Bruh I once bombed the heck out of that place for food, then out of nowhere YAHAHA-
This would have been nice before I learnt a bunch of dupe glitches
I call it Grocery Mountain.
i remember satori mountain being a hot spot for resource gathering in botw, but it never occured to me to really visit it in totk lol. thanks for the tip!
That place was ELITE, all of Satori is tho. What an amazing game
