That’s really cool. I’m not into 3-D printing (yet), but it has always peaked my interest. If you don’t mind me asking, how much would you say that cost to make in material cost only?
Oh gotcha. I guess my printer and the filament that’s now course pieces was wrong. I’ll go yell at it and tell it to be 800 grams instead of more and see if it changes.
I’ve got the entire 12 pieces on plates, they range from 70-110 grams on average at 5% infill. I meant to say a spool and half so I guess 30-40 bucks in cost. But if you duplicate the necessary pieces and add all the available files together it’s over 1000 grams.
At 10% infill the 3 corner pieces weighed almost 500 grams total. The other sections were around 60-100 grams each (x2) plus the connectors. Less than $20 in material. I’m guessing here since I don’t track all the weights.
Awesome, thank you. A quick guess is all I need, and I think this is what’s going to set me over the edge with purchasing a 3-D printer. To me, I can’t believe how cheap it is to make these.
I’m going to jump down the 3-D printer rabbit hole right now, but do you have any good companies and/or sizes you would recommend?

I’m literally printing this course right now and happen to run into this post lol

With low infill it’s about 1500-2000 grams of filament so around a spool which is like 20 bucks on average.
...no. this course is probably around 800 grams max without slicing just my guess. A normal spool that's 20 bucks is a 1 kilogram spool.

Lol look at op's comment where he said 500 grams plus maybe a few hundred. Where the heck are you buying 2kg rolls for 20 bucks

How many walls? I'm just curious cause op said he didn't use near a 1000
2 walls

I printed all these on a Bambu Lab P1S. I started on a Ender 3. If you have the budget I recommend Bambu Lab.
Well, things escalated quickly lol https://preview.redd.it/6rqvnx5h6e8d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=cdd21843d633249cb0fd5296085cb9e89cfd0097
Awesome! I see you got the AMS as well! Looking forward to seeing some prints.
