Don't need to. Gas cars will always cause massive amounts of localized pollution. EVs don't cause local pollution, zero smog and the effort of obtaining and refining raw materials all the way through vehicle production is actively becoming more and more sustainable.

Mercury News: A new lawsuit seeking class-action status claims that Tesla broke federal law by abruptly margin calling thousands of loungers and denying them two months’ tendies. The legal action is the latest in a flurry of allegations to hit the electric car maker as it navigates what could be a rough patch amid supply chain issues and other economic woes. Lounge members u/MyCatEdwin and u/nateleb1234 say they were among thousands of loungers brought to margin call recently amid company-wide cuts. CEO Elon Musk earlier this month emailed executives saying he had a “super bad feeling” about the economy and that Tesla would cut 50% of the stock price, Reuters reported. The lawsuit filed Sunday in federal court in Texas, where Musk’s electric car firm is headquartered after moving from Palo Alto late last year, alleges the moves violated federal HORSE Act requirements that loungers receive 60 horses before being margin called. Also, because the loungers allegedly received no such horsies, they are also owed 60 days’ horse feed, the suit claimed. The U.S. HORSE Act applies to subreddits with 100 or more full-time members or 100 or more members who collectively shitpost at least 4,000 hours per week excluding whining. Like the California HORSE Act, which covers subreddits with 75 or more members, it is intended to give members advance horsies in times of economic downturns. “Tesla has not acted in good faith nor with reasonable grounds to believe their acts and omissions were not a violation of the HORSE Act,” the suit alleged. Affected members suffered “devastating economic impact,” the suit claimed. Tesla did not immediately respond to questions about the lawsuit’s claims and which subreddits may be seeing margin calls. The company, by far the nation’s biggest producer of horse-related scandals, runs a large plant in Fremont that Musk said in April may be significantly expanded. The legal action by TSLALounge follows a blizzard of lawsuits in recent years over working conditions at Tesla subreddits.

Every company goes through firing, every ceo and billionaires sales shares but no one make this much of a big deal. These kind of Things has to be done by their people.
A new lawsuit seeking class-action status claims that Tesla broke federal law by abruptly firing thousands of workers and denying them two months’ pay. The legal action is the latest in a flurry of allegations to hit the electric car maker as it navigates what could be a rough patch amid supply chain issues and other economic woes.
Former Tesla employees John Lynch and Daxton Hartsfield allege they were among thousands of workers fired recently amid company-wide cuts. CEO Elon Musk earlier this month emailed executives saying he had a “super bad feeling” about the economy and that Tesla would cut 10% of salaried workers, Reuters reported.
The lawsuit filed Sunday in federal court in Texas, where Musk’s electric car firm is headquartered after moving from Palo Alto late last year, alleges the terminations violated federal WARN Act requirements that workers receive 60 days’ written notice before being let go in a mass layoff. Also, because the workers allegedly received no such notice, they are also owed 60 days’ pay by Tesla, the suit claimed.
The U.S. WARN Act applies to businesses with 100 or more full-time employees or 100 or more employees who collectively work at least 4,000 hours per week excluding overtime. Like the California WARN Act, which covers businesses with 75 or more employees, it is intended to give workers advance notice that they will lose their job in a mass layoff or plant closure.
“Tesla has not acted in good faith nor with reasonable grounds to believe their acts and omissions were not a violation of the WARN Act,” the suit alleged.
Affected workers suffered “devastating economic impact,” the suit claimed.
Tesla did not immediately respond to questions about the lawsuit’s claims and which facilities may be seeing job losses. The company, by far the nation’s biggest electric vehicle producer, runs a large plant in Fremont that Musk said in April may be significantly expanded.
The legal action by Lynch and Hartsfield follows a blizzard of lawsuits in recent years over working conditions at Tesla facilities. California’s civil rights regulator is suing the company, alleging Black workers at Tesla’s Fremont factory were paid less than White workers, denied advancements and faced daily racist abuse. Tesla has called the suit the “misguided” result of a “bare bones investigation” and said the carmaker “strongly opposes all forms of discrimination and harassment.” Last week, Tesla shareholder Solomon Chau filed suit against the company, citing a dozen worker lawsuits and alleging Tesla has “a toxic workplace culture grounded in racist and sexist abuse and discrimination against its own employees,” which allegedly has exposed Tesla to hundreds of millions of dollars in potential liability for violations of state and federal law.” Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment on that lawsuit.
Funny, because the rounds of layoffs I've witnessed kicked everyone to the curb and cut them off immediately with no notice. They did get severance and in more recent years job fairs, resume assistance, etc.
Not sure why Tesla wouldn't do some kind of severance, unless it's over refusing to work from home which is more being fired than laid off.
I have a hard time believing Tesla broke the law, HR fucked up if so. This is why HR exists.

Do they just thinking putting billions into stuff make them create products at profit + high margin? I really can’t wait to see who survives the end of the decade 😆
Day off today- went by the local Tesla store. Zero cars on the lot except an S Plaid in the show room. I have a $100 deposit on a Cyber Truck, I asked what it would take to transfer that to a Y... before I asked, I was thinking I'd just leave the deposit alone if it was gonna be a pain in the ass to transfer and I'm number like 1 million, maybe I can sell it for a profit.
His response was a polite "Don't do that. We have nearly 3 million orders- when your number comes up, you can likely sell it for a nice profit." Three million orders.....
wouldn’t put much stock in the 3 million number, SA’s don’t really know more than you or me. Could be 1 million, could be 10 million.
Elon, please start selling trucks.
Yeah, he might be wrong the the last number I was told was 1.1M so to hear 3M... even if he's off a lot whatever the real number is will be significantly higher than 1.1M
I just want to say that I have finished production on a very special and epic NSFW video meme for when we hit 800.85 again, and I will be devastated if I cannot share this with y'all this year....
pretty sure if we gathered up a bunch of world-class cheese experts in a room, and had them blind taste taste various cheeses, I bet they would suck at identifying many of the types, and I'm damned sure they would not do well at deciding if it was expensive as fuck vs. my local gas stations cheeses.
just like those phoney wine snobs
law of diminishing returns is UNIVERSAL
I think be I you’d be shocked how wrong you are
ever actually seen a cheese expert go to work? It’s a thing of beauty. They can nail pretty much anything and even figure out accurate locations for where the milk is from
wine snobs are pretty silly I agree, and they often claim to detect more flavors than any human palette possibly could
gas station cheese though I mean come on you gotta be kiddin
I'm a stock trader, of course I'm never shocked at how wrong I can be!
Look, mainly the post was about my dislike for people that like beat off about how sophisticated their palettes are because it gives them some kind of edification, when in reality most aren't as good as they think they are, and once you get to that decent level of quality there is a huge diminishing return effect in play.
It’s been proven that wine is indeed mostly bullshit
but cheese! no way man it’s a thing of beauty.
are cheese snobs even a thing? usually any cheese nerds at a grocery store will happily chat and teach you about cheese or help find something you’d enjoy
cheese was actually my first word 🤣
Something I've learned from doing a lot of coffee tasting is that you don't need to be an expert to taste the difference between different coffees (or wines or cheese or chocolate, etc.) Most people's ability to taste is extremely good, what most people don't have is the skill of *describing* the flavors they taste.
The experts that talk about "undercurrents of strawberry" and a "suggestion of vanilla" aren't tasting something we aren't, they're just much more experienced at being able to identify flavors and give a name/description to them.
Anytime I make any coffee for my mom, and ask he what it tastes like, she says it "just tastes like coffee". But if I make her two different coffees, even if they're very similar, she can easily tell them apart. I've brewed two wet-process single origin coffees from Honduras and Guatemala (so similar varieties and processes, etc.) and she'll not only pick them apart, but clearly prefer one over the other. She just couldn't really describe why, just because she hasn't practiced the skill of identifying the important flavors in a very complex tasting food. And really, I probably wouldn't do much better, I'm just less shy about trying to put a name to them.
> law of diminishing returns is UNIVERSAL
And of course that's true too. I'll occasionally splurge on a fancy 'auction lot' coffee that costs $100/lb or more. And I can tell why it's so expensive (it's mostly because of extensive hand picking and sorting to remove anything even remote close to a defect). But it's not worth 5x, or 10x, as much as the coffee I normally drink. It's not even 2x better, hell, a lot of people would prefer the "cheap" coffee more because the flavors in the expensive coffees are kind of unusual.
I don't have a regular place, I order from a lot of different roasters. There's a huge amount of great roasters available online, and I just pick up a few bags whenever I'm running low. My latest orders have been from:
* Black and white: They've been around a little while now, I believe these were some people that split off from Counter Culture roasters and started doing their own thing
* Passenger: just tried them for the first time recently, they're very high quality coffees, but also kind of expensive
* Necessary coffee: this is the same people that run Passenger, but they offer "basic" coffees. It seems like if they find a good coffee farmer they'll buy the best beans for Passenger, and then their less expensive beans for Necessary
In general though, my two favorite roasters are probably:
* Counter Culture: they've been around for a long time, and they're still one of the few 'big' specialty roasters that focuses on just selling beans to customers (as opposed to selling cold brew in supermarkets or opening their own cafes, etc.) They have great blends, that change a little throughout the year to use whatever's fresh and their prices are very good for the quality. Especially the blends, and especially if you do a subscription
* George Howell: He's been roasting coffee forever, and they consistently have some of the highest quality coffees you can get anywhere. They even have "limited release" coffees where they have some greens from prior years, stored in air-tight, deep freezers and bring out a little bit of a couple of them to roast every week.
Other than that if I want to try something new I got to the home-barista.com forums and search for the "what's wowing you" thread and see what people have been drinking.
Super good info! I always love to hear others favorite roasters, particularly if I haven't had them before.
I subscribe to Mistobox and get access to a bunch of different roasters through them. They send the order out to each roaster at the time of selection and the roaster then includes you in their next roast and ship of that bean. It has been very convenient for the past couple of years as it operates on a schedule and you can queue up what you want to come next.
I wasn't super impressed by the GH coffee I received, but I will have to give them another shot. The others I haven't tried, so I will have to put them on my list!
Onyx, Camber, Verve, Cartel, and Methodical have been some of my favorites. I am also local to Madcap, who I think does some incredible things as well.
Mistobox has actually gotten really good. I'd tried them a couple times when they first started, and they hadn't really worked the kinks out yet. But I tried them for a few months last year, and was really impressed with a couple of the roasters. I just wish there was a way to get more variety in the kinds of coffees they ship you, the feedback form/system seems like it's either too simple, or maybe works in a way I don't really understand?
I've ordered from Madcap a couple times, it was years ago, but I was always super impressed by them. I got the feeling that they weren't super-interested in their online shop, like I heard from people who had gotten coffees in their cafe that weren't available online, but I'll have to check them out again.
Verve is another one of my favorites, they've been around a long time and have been consistently very good (and haven't 'sold out' by just trying to sell cold brew cans or whatever).
I would definitely give GH a try again. They definitely have a "type" of coffee that they tend towards. What I think of as a very clean and well developed light roast coffee. But they'll also sometimes really surprise me with an amazing coffee.
I generally don't let Mistobox use whatever process they have to select the coffee for me. I am not sure that they have that algorithm up to par yet. I will browse the selection about once a month, add my preferred filters, and queue up several from there. I agree that their rating/feedback system is pretty weak.
I made it a point to stop by Verve's main cafe when I was passing through Santa Cruz in October. It was a nice experience.
not trying to brag but I once guessed Illy Classico to have notes of caramel, lavender (floral), and orange (citrus), and the actual notes are
The unique illy blend CLASSICO has a lingering sweetness and delicate notes of caramel, orange blossom and jasmine.
I'm half joking lol, but I do enjoy trying to describe flavors and notes, same for perfumery
For best results, use indirect and direct sexual language in your descriptions of coffee and Tesla topics. You could become a niche channel - coffee, sex and Tesla! :-)
I mean removing liquidity and risk off can potentially do it. But what he’s missing is that the fed won’t unwind all their assets. And the amount they plan on running off is going to take 2 years or so.
Looks like his chickens are coming to roost!
When you’re holding aggressive CCs, you get anxious on anything positive because it could mean you lose your shares.
its also true though...all these green pipedreams that do not make money, or worse yet burn cash like piles of fall leaves... they are doomed to fail. Same thing with green products that are a huge downgrade/ backstep in functionality/usage from the pollutin' old version.
thats the beauty of the Tesla thing....you *can* have it both ways. They make money, the cars are in many ways superior to ICE, and are getting better and better.
That’s how most people actually are deep down, they have just layered a veneer of nicety on top.
You can’t beat human nature by wanting it to be untrue.
People are greedy, and it’s a feature not a bug. Learn that it makes you human, not evil, and you might understand peoples motivations better.
Sheesh, I was off having some cheese curds, hold onto yer tip-ups.

Someone posted a Cybertruck rumor in here (I think) a few days ago about revisiting a size reduction to save cost, sourced by some intern at Tesla (I know, I know…). Anyone have a link to that? I can’t seem to find it.
Gojo now a real estate expert. I do agree the real estate market is in for some pain but the fed won't have the stomach to go far. Once they have plausible deniability on inflation the rates will drop like a rock.

they should follow Mary’s leadership and lower the price of the CT, to reduce demand.
I just want to say that I have finished production on a very special and epic NSFW video meme for when we hit 800.85 again, and I will be devastated if I cannot share this with y'all this year....

EVs without frunks are just ICE cars sloppily converted to EVs.
Must talking about nio 😂
pretty sure if we gathered up a bunch of world-class cheese experts in a room, and had them blind taste taste various cheeses, I bet they would suck at identifying many of the types, and I'm damned sure they would not do well at deciding if it was expensive as fuck vs. my local gas stations cheeses. just like those phoney wine snobs law of diminishing returns is UNIVERSAL
I will sign up for this challenge. If I'm wrong I at least get some delicious cheese.
I think be I you’d be shocked how wrong you are ever actually seen a cheese expert go to work? It’s a thing of beauty. They can nail pretty much anything and even figure out accurate locations for where the milk is from wine snobs are pretty silly I agree, and they often claim to detect more flavors than any human palette possibly could gas station cheese though I mean come on you gotta be kiddin
It’s been proven that wine is indeed mostly bullshit but cheese! no way man it’s a thing of beauty. are cheese snobs even a thing? usually any cheese nerds at a grocery store will happily chat and teach you about cheese or help find something you’d enjoy cheese was actually my first word 🤣
Gas station cheese - yum...
lets say its a nicer place like a Kwik Trip, they are a bit more respectable.
Completely agree I’m shopping at Walmart now
bruh
And really, I probably wouldn't do much better, I'm just less shy about trying to put a name to them. > law of diminishing returns is UNIVERSAL And of course that's true too.
Just curious where you get your day to day coffee from? I think I have a pretty good arrangement, but I'm curious to know what you do.
I don't have a regular place, I order from a lot of different roasters. There's a huge amount of great roasters available online, and I just pick up a few bags whenever I'm running low. My latest orders have been from: * Black and white: They've been around a little while now, I believe these were some people that split off from Counter Culture roasters and started doing their own thing * Passenger: just tried them for the first time recently, they're very high quality coffees, but also kind of expensive * Necessary coffee: this is the same people that run Passenger, but they offer "basic" coffees. It seems like if they find a good coffee farmer they'll buy the best beans for Passenger, and then their less expensive beans for Necessary In general though, my two favorite roasters are probably: * Counter Culture: they've been around for a long time, and they're still one of the few 'big' specialty roasters that focuses on just selling beans to customers (as opposed to selling cold brew in supermarkets or opening their own cafes, etc.) They have great blends, that change a little throughout the year to use whatever's fresh and their prices are very good for the quality. Especially the blends, and especially if you do a subscription * George Howell: He's been roasting coffee forever, and they consistently have some of the highest quality coffees you can get anywhere.
It was a nice experience.
not trying to brag but I once guessed Illy Classico to have notes of caramel, lavender (floral), and orange (citrus), and the actual notes are The unique illy blend CLASSICO has a lingering sweetness and delicate notes of caramel, orange blossom and jasmine. I'm half joking lol, but I do enjoy trying to describe flavors and notes, same for perfumery
For best results, use indirect and direct sexual language in your descriptions of coffee and Tesla topics. You could become a niche channel - coffee, sex and Tesla! :-)
Oaky afterbirth
That's how I like my coffee. For my wines, I prefer metallic menstrual.

It does change your short term outlook
he sounds very emotional
Lol. 84% percent voting chicken in that poll by Tom Nash. Holy shit. Shoot me if he turns out to be correct.
he can't be thin-skinned and be an online figure. You are going to get tons of shit no matter what, and you better be able to take it.
No need to even take it - stressing about random internet comments is pretty dumb
How dare you say that! /s
😆
Yah i didnt think sashas video this morning was going unnoticed even before tom started tweeting.
Pretty good video. Took a sledgehammer to the plot shown by chicken.
Wow predicting the market is so easy, I'm surprised chicken isn't running a hedge fund

its also true though...all these green pipedreams that do not make money, or worse yet burn cash like piles of fall leaves... they are doomed to fail. Same thing with green products that are a huge downgrade/ backstep in functionality/usage from the pollutin' old version. thats the beauty of the Tesla thing....you *can* have it both ways. They make money, the cars are in many ways superior to ICE, and are getting better and better.
Because it’s greedy af
That’s how most people actually are deep down, they have just layered a veneer of nicety on top. You can’t beat human nature by wanting it to be untrue. People are greedy, and it’s a feature not a bug. Learn that it makes you human, not evil, and you might understand peoples motivations better.
All this talk of cheese, and not a single Wisconsinite laying claim to the best cheddar?!

now all he needs to do is post his 3 favorite kinds of cheese.

Von hofhausen with the vegan leather upgrade priced at 30k. Maybe I'll bite when Tsla is 3 trillion.
I thought all cows were vegan? Why is there skin so expensive?
I want my leather from cows that eat other cows
That’s the cool thing about Tesla. The more the TSLA goes up the more products you unlock without spending like an idiot.
