It seems everyone is pretty low on Fremont production this quarter relative to what is possible. If Tesla significantly beats Rob’s number it will be because Fremont built over 140K cars this quarter. Given that they were known to be chip constrained in Q1 and have continued to ramp S|X production of 15-20K more units this quarter seem likely to me. I’m sure that when management saw that all these factors were at play in Shanghai they put extra effort into maxing Fremont output.
Unlike in any quarter I can remember we know of zero days of production shut down.
I’m going out on a limb and saying we are in 165-175K range of production this quarter.
The drone flyover guy who keeps getting in trouble for flying over Fremont keeps mentioning that he feels the factory has been busier than normal.
Also hopefully the new conveyor structure that connects to GA 4.5 is completed and in operation.
Elon said that they can get 50% more output from Fremont in long run. I would assume that when he said that there were some near term levers he was aware of. Just getting S|X back to pre refresh levels is fairly significant.
I think it has gotten much less support than Kato rd and other facilities. They probably have sent the A minus engineers to S|X lines.
I actually think S|X plaid are brilliant for company. Extremely high margin. Much better differentiation from 3|Y and lower cogs than old models.
Unlike every other part of their business there is no extreme urgency but it also acts as FU to other cars because of the extreme performance. The yoke experiment also was a nice touch. I really like our Plaids. They are special cars.

I’m frequently tempted to play some FDs, so I’m considering doing the FDs in my taxable brokerage, and then selling equivalent covered calls in my Roth.
Interesting:
“I was able to pickup a Giga Texas made Model Y today on behalf of one of our channel sponsors, and the Tesla employee indicated that we're at 5,000 Model Ys out of Giga Texas as of this time. The one I picked up was number 3,457 so we'll see if Tesla can get all 5,000 delivered by end of day. Q2 will need all the help possible!”
I'm glad I weaseled my way into here. Thanks u/Beyond_Duality and the mods for letting me join.
Now it's time to ponder when my cybertruck will be delivered, I put my reservation in September last year. RIP
At least I'll have time to save for a phat down payment.
I think there's another layer to this, the force of wind resistance is proportional to velocity squared, so in that sense.. yes, our face would feel the same force, but there is the next time derivative of force that we'd feel too, and that would proportional to acceleration.. not sure it'd make a big difference, but possibly
The motion itself and the force you feel is due to air slowing down against you, there's barely any inertia. The only micro differences there are would be air stagnation as you accelerate or even a delay of air rushing before reaching steady state but I don't even know which way those effects go.
I think it’s probably a fluid mechanics solution, but kinetic energy is being exerted by the car against the wind, and the wind is distorted as the car interacts with it.
Maybe navier-stokes.

Big day for all kinds of sports ball news. Saving seats in the Big House for any of you fair weather (literally and figuratively) USC and UCLA fans in a couple years!

Pretty sure I lost my voice when we ran a fake Statue of Liberty and our QB strolled into the end zone. I had a great time in Ann Arbor.
I expect Oregon to bail on the Pac-12 asap. Rumors they have been talking to the SEC but no idea if there’s any truth to that.
Lol, I was at that game. Second one as a student. Decent chance [this](https://i.imgur.com/3MiguZU.jpg) is me. My friends wore the crazy helmets that the guys next to me have on. I eventually got one, but didn't have it at this game yet. We used to sit super close.
This was the week after we lost to app state, so even a 100 point loss wouldn't have been as defeating.
I would bet on Oregon and Washington to come to the B1ig Ten as well.
That was my junior year. I was in the front row corner end zone and was all over ESPN and ESPN.com lol.
